If you're looking for sitty service, look no further.
Couple friends and myself came here for a birthday party and the staff was plain RUDE to us. Small things became problems like asking for warmer food when it was cold and we were charged fees for stupid things like opening a bottle we brought. This just seemed a little bit ridiculous to us because we were willing to spend close to $700. Not sure why they were putting up a fuss about a $35 fee to bring our own drinks?? Seems like it any other restaurant it would be complementary??? Maybe its a jersey thing. Not feeling it. Felt very unappreciated by the end of the night. Will be staying in New York from now on.Oh, and Wayover priced for subpar food. Nothing on the house after $700 bill and automatically added gratuity.

The food is tasty and the portions are good sized. Appetizers such as calamari and meatballs are great for sharing. Must try the dessert plate at the end to finish up the meal. Staff was professional and attentive.

Restaurant was packed, staff was friendly as was the crowd and the food was very good. Reservations recommended, we were fortunate to get a couple seats at the bar.
Be the first to ReplyNo complaints about the food, but service was slow.
The restaurant was completely empty, so this should 't be happening. This is something the operators of the hotel should address. Also, gratuity is supposedly already included in the bill for parties of 5 or more, so this should be made clear on the credit card receipt too, not just on the bill. The person paying for our meal had mistakenly added gratuity on top of the bill that already had gratuity added.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for my girlfriends birthday.
Vibes and ambiance were elegant, great, and perfect for date night.Food however was subpar. Nothing really stood out and everything was very average. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything spectacular so I'm not sure if it's worth the price. Service was good. Maybe some people would enjoy this spot and there are some better dishes I needed to try
Be the first to ReplyAlways a good meal here! Very nice ambiance.
..Sangria is good too!! Located in the Westin Hotel.

This was my 3rd time at this location and it never disappointed in my opinion. Service is always good, food is ok, but it can use more seasoning. As I arrived we parked in the parking deck next door. We were promptly seated for our 7:30pm reservation. We were given complementary champagne as well. We ordered an amaretto sour and a berry margarita which was good. We also had the shrimp and crab pasta, and the roasted chicken. Both were ok. The chicken was really dry but thats expected with roasted chicken, and the sides were luke warn. All in all, its a recommended Resturant.
Be the first to ReplyIt's been a number of years since I've had Fire & Oak.
I typically think of it as exclusive or a place where I need to get dressed up for and plan to spend a evening on fine dining service. However, on a hunt for Key Lime Pie, I decided to order-in Uber Eats to see how the quality was and if it's worth a future trip. I know my selections are atypical of what someone would order here. I opted for the veggie sushi, the Market salad, and of course the Key Lime Pie. Having just returned from Miami and having had the Key Lime pie at Joe's Stone Crab, I've been trying to find something as rich and authentic. Fire & Oak has it! There's even the zesty lime bits dispersed inside the filling. The classic gram cracker crust is buttery and balanced the tangy lime. The portion was generous for $9, and I absolutely loved this. I'll come back just for the key lime pie. The veggie sushi roll ($12) was understated and came with three dipping sauces, the roll is rice side out, which is good if you are not a nori fan. Personally, I enjoy tasting each of the veggies here. This was very fresh and could have used a few more minutes of being pressed as some of it fell apart in my soy sauce. I really enjoyed it though and would recommend adding some oshinko to the veggie mix. I'm saving the best for last here, and no it was not the key lime pie. Have you ever had a salad that makes you feel better with each bite? This salad was so good, I almost want to cry. The Market salad ($13) comes with bacon, egg. onion, radish, tomato, carrots, and brioche croutons. I paired it with the champagne dressing. I like my salads slightly underdressed, so I appreciate that they serve the dressing on the side. Visually, this is a well thought out salad. The egg is not a giant hard boiled half egg. It's the softly scrambled pieces that when mixed allows you to get a bit of it in every forkful. The carrots are thin enough to not be cumbersome and nicely accent the salad rather than dominate it. The red onions and radish provide the zest and spice needed to balance the richness of the eggs, bacon, and butter toasted brioche croutons. Similar to the eggs, the bacon is not overwhelming the salad. The bacon is extra crispy and adds a nice salty textural crunch. The bed of mesclun held the toppings well and was served in large pieces indicating this is not coming from a typical grocery store mix. The combination of the champagne dressing and mesclun is ideal as both are delicate. Based on this take out experience, Fire & Oak is worth visiting again soon!

Fire & Oak is literally one of my favorite places in Jersey City. I've had several birthday parties here through out the years. Being here is like being in your livingroom relaxing while being served great food. The food is always great. The staff is amazing and management is always around to make sure you are taken cared of. I love this place and will always come here as much as i can.

Be the first to ReplyCame here for a friend's graduation/going away dinner.
Beautiful restaurant which is located in The Westin Hotel. Side-note, I love The Westin. I've stayed in their Atlanta hotel. It's gorgeous and spacious. The entrance to the restaurant was a bit small and crowded. The bar is right in front so when people stand around ordering and mingling, a crowd builds causing "traffic" so to speak. I'm not sure how big the restaurant was because we had a small section isolated for us in the back. There was an issue w the design of the chairs since there were 20 of us. I offered to help move the chairs and tables to a different design but the waitress told me not to help. A bit weird if you're going to complain about the length of time it will take to shuffle everything around but here I am offering to help in my heels and you basically shout "no! Do not help me". Weird.Anyway, the food was delicious. Because there was so many of us, we had a $95 pre fixe menu which we paid in advance. The service was very slow. There were 10 of us at our table, so we got 2 of each of the 3 appetizers at a time. When it would finish, we would have to wait another 10-15 minutes for it to be refilled. They knew we were coming and knew we were a large party, so I didn't understand the wait. Keep in mind each plate wasn't enough to feed 10 people so some people did not get everything or got a small portion. For example, someone at the end of my table only got one wing and another did not get any dip and had to wait for the 2nd round, if that makes sense. There was no expectation of what was happening. I wish our waiter would have asked us ahead of time if we were good, if we wanted more of a particular app or explained they could only refill the apps 3 times and that's it. You know, communicate and be personable. Next was the salad and entrees. Loved everything! Bottom line: Would I return? Yes. I would probably come alone or with a smaller group of people.Parking is a bit on the high side! Lol I parked in the lot right next to the The Westin (on the right) and paid $27 for more than 4 hours.
Be the first to ReplyMy relatives in NYC invited my family to this place.
Parking was a bit of a hassle but it was not too bad. I ended up parking in a garage next to Macy's. The Kobe burger was great but my teenage boy didn't like the truffle fries. He didn't like the strong flavor of it. I ordered a Porkchop and didn't enjoy it too much. It was too salty and I didn't finish it. The lobster mac and cheese appetizer was the best. Everyone loved it. Overall it is a good restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyI never do reviews, but I was given this thank you card
I never do reviews, but I was given this thank you card from my waiter George Maxwell and promised to do one and share my Fire and Oak experience.I went to this place Saturday night it is located within the Westin Hotel, I had an amazing dinner and would like to share my experience with anyone that is reading this review. This restaurant is very busy and loud which I believe can be expected for a Saturday. I believe it would be in your best interest to reserve a table ahead of time which I didn't because I was staying at the hotel and didn't realize this restaurant existed, which now that I've dined their I am glad that I now do. Ok, if your still reading this, now for the review. The decor is wonderful, smells of a smoky, exceptional waiter George, waiter's recommendations were on point, I normally get chose lighter fare but the waiter asked if I was feeling adventurous tonight and he recommended the filet which was very soft and tender only odd thing was the restroom is through the kitchen for those that are TLDR inclined : superb food and drinks and atmosphere and excellent waiter
Be the first to ReplyThe place served it's purpose for a low key dinner night
The place served it's purpose for a low key dinner night even dates. The decor is very industrial but with a cozy vibe. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The food is cooked to your liking and they allow you to substitute sides.
Be the first to ReplyWe visited during Father's Day weekend.
Appetizers we ordered were the calamari, wings, and truffle fries. They were good. We ordered the snapper special and the lobster shrimp pasta for entrees they were well seasoned and excellent.

I was staying in Newark for the weekend and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I was a little weary because Jersey City was a bit away but it was WORTH IT. Everything was delicious and the manager was super attentive. We had Prime Hanger Steak Frites, Oysters, Octopus and the Chicken Parm. It was all delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. The octopus was tender and the chicken parm was seasoned so well. The pears and lychee drink was incredible. It's not a cheap price tag, but you definitely get what you pay for! 12/10 would go again.
Be the first to ReplyA classic restaurant with a modern vibe.
I love visiting Fire & Oak and having a craft cocktail with the truffle fries.

Be the first to ReplyI go to a lot of different restaurants for work doesn't
I go to a lot of different restaurants for work doesn't matter to me how many stars they have ,but I happen to be staying at the Westin in Jersey City so I decided to go downstairs to the bar and get a drink I spent waiting at the bar for 20 minutes with not a word from the bartender . Subtle racism is still racism...
