Firstly, we arrived at 8.05pm for an 8.15pm booking. We were then rudely informed by the front Waiter that our table was not ready and we could walk down two blocks to some random pub for a drink before our dinner as he could not accomodate us at the bar in the restaurant. Looking around the restaurant there were several empty dining spaces which could have easily accommodated our party of 4 a few minutes before our booking time. So we went back outside, told our husbands and then they walked in one minute later only to be told that miraculously our table was now ready and we were seated…..I’m not sure what this Restaurant/waiter was trying to achieve by turning us away not one minute beforehand but needless to say, not off to a good start. Whilst some of the courses were wonderful, tasty and fresh, some missed the mark completely. The flavours on some courses were very mixed and just didn’t seem to go well together. In addition to the standard $165 per person for the 5 course menu, we also ordered the 128 days aged wagyu beef at the bargain price of $395, two bottles of Sangiovese which retails for around $40 each, at the bargain price of $170 each. The beef was the most disappointing dish of the night, it didn’t even taste like meat anymore. So it goes without saying we spent a substantial amount at this restaurant. The service started off shaky with the rude waiter, then improved during the meal service however slackened off towards the end of the night, even though by now there were hardly any other diners left. A very disappointing and expensive night out that we will not be repeating. I’d have to recommend, for the pricing of this menu and what you get for it, I’d rethink dining at this establishment.
