Bad food in beautiful premises
The food was by no means up to standard. We went for 5 courses, which were relatively ok priced. Quite a decent starter that could have been a substitute for bread before the meal. Crayfish was well fried but, totally tasteless sauce. Dishes that are not in season were tasteless and undercooked. The veal, I'm not sure if it was veal at all, red not bright in the meat with an egg and nauseating taste without texture with celery that wasn't soft and cooked through, the sauce was bitter and sour. Fortunately, they ended with a fresh and good dessert. Guide Michelin should set up a dissuasion here, not a recommendation.

Very good food. Well prepared for gluten-free options. Good timing on serving. Those who served were attentive and considerate. A little noisy in the room when it is full and a little poor control of the music volume.
Be the first to ReplyCozy place but the service was bad.
I don't understand how this restaurant has a Michelin star. The premises are idyllic and cosy, but the service and food fail completely! Waiters push for a 7-course menu without informing about the option to eat 'à la carte' They don't ask if the food tastes good, and we have to wait for refills. The main course tastes absolutely terrible, the wine that was recommended enhanced the sour sauce and the meat might as well have been fish, because the sour sauce and vegetables overshadowed everything. I am very very disappointed!

It's the best restaurant tested in Oslo, just delicious fish as well as the accompaniments, great wine list. To recommend
Be the first to ReplyBad experience, ongoing service, little food.
Very far from real 'bistronomy'. The service is really pushy, pushing for a 7-course menu without informing about the possibility of eating 'à la carte'. The food is very greasy and salty. Portions are small. The service pushes for consumption. I don't understand the Michelin recommendation and the term 'bistronomy'. As a Frenchman, I know a bit about the bistro culture. This has nothing to do with it. Maybe the residents of Oslo appreciate it, but for others I would advise against it. It is better to eat a good hamburger elsewhere in the city.
Be the first to ReplyOk food, nice vibe
Had the large set menu - surprisingly large courses so would recommend the smaller set menu unless you are very hungry. Food was average, service good with a nice atmosphere
Be the first to ReplyWonderful meal in the oslo sunshine
A lovely meal on the terrace Food was delicious, very well presented and full of flavour We had the set menu and bottle of petit chablis in the late afternoon noon It's the second time we have eaten here but last time was 20 19. Food as good as we remembered

(-) Small selection - 2 meat dishes, 1 fish, 1 seafood. That would be ok, if the food was exciting. It was not. The fish was dry and sides were burnt. Fyr-bab was ok. (+) Not too pricey (regular Oslo level) but... (-) ...we left hungry. Fortunately we live nearby and ordered some home delivery food while still at Fyr. I was eating at Fyr several times before COVID and the experience was completely different, something must have happened - the owner or the chef must have changed. Pity.

One of the worst experiences this year so far. We were a group of 8 people hoping to eat some good food accompanied with some drinks and enjoying each other’s company. What a shame it was. First of all we couldn’t choose the menu we wanted. There is to options of tasting menu available “stor FYR” and “liten FYR”. Some of us wanted to order the tasting menu, while others didn’t find it satisfying (because they do not eat meat for instance). We were informed that if we want the tasting menu, everybody sitting at the table has to order the same. Moreover it was not possible to change the meat dishes to fish. Unbelievable. It took us a while to rethink it and order the food. The drinks were on the way they said. Some of us have started with appetizers while others got their first drink. The service ladies were irritated, they didn’t seem happy to work there. The food was okay, but nothing particularly special. In the end I ordered coffee with milk on the side, that I had to wait for 25 minutes and the milk was served after another 10 min… it was not possible to split the bill the way we wanted but anyways…The best is yet to come! We left the place after paying over 11000 NOK for this miserable experience. We headed slowly to the next place, while my phone rang. My colleague was stopped by the waitress and accused of running from the bill! I had to turn back and show them the receipt for the dinner as the evidence that we paid! I definitely don’t recommend. Totally all together : terrible service.

Fantastic night at Fyr. We choose 5 course meal and we were not disappointed. Excellent wine pairing and very good service. 10 of 10

This place is one of the best places to go and eat really good food during summer time in Oslo. It might be difficult to get a table if the sun is out and its in the middle of July, so I always book in advance. It is only the Park that is open through the summer and everything is top-notch. The combination of the flavours in the food are spectacular together. I also love the looks of the dishes as they use edible flowers and good colour combinations. Only comment might be the flower pot for desert - i wish they would have used a straw of mint instead of only a mint leaf. But that is only a minor detail... Excellent wine available and good vibes. International staff. I have visited several times so will definitely recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyAll right. Not bad, but not too good either.
Perfectly all right place. I would recommend going here for a casual night out, particularly on a nice summer's day to enjoy the dining area in the garden.
The dishes were standard: moulles frites, tortilla, pork neck, shrimp salad.
I had the moulles frites which came with chorizo. At first glance I was curious as to how they would combine the chorizo with the mussels to bring out the best in both, but I was dissappointed with the result. The chorizo, which was cut into tiny cubes and drizzled over the mussels, was barely noticable in the sauce. It felt more like "click-bait" than any thought-through combination. My girlfriend ordered the pork neck, which was served with kale. Not bad, but the piece of kale was oversized and too strongly fried, making the sides taste burnt.
The outdoor seating area is lovely in the summer, and it is a clean and well-kept place. The service is comparable with the food: average, professional and not overly exciting. Considering the prices I'd expect more.
Original
Nice to dine outside. Young, friendly, dynamic waitresses. Good teamwork. Salad combinations originally seasoned. Good vegetarian as well as meat dishes.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, but expensive and bad service
Went here a hot summer day.
The prices are high and portions are small, but the food taste very good.
The server staff was very slow and not very attentative.
They only pay attention to their own area, so it took over 15 minutes to try to get a waiter for dessert, so when we finally got one we decided to pay instead.
