RIP OFF, DO NOT GO!!!
RIP OFF, DO NOT GO!!! Nice ambience however, I only got a yoghurt with fruit and a coffee to sit at the cramped bar. When I was paying at the self service machine prior to sitting at the bar, the server immediately flipped the iPad back to add 20% service charge without my say so. I was unsure as to what he did, as It was so quick - I was a little taken back, as I was expecting to add a service myself. The receipt came out as "20% miscellaneous" which I think is disgraceful. Service charge is discretionary to the customer & I should have at least been notified by the server as to what he was doing without my permission. Will NOT be back!!

Wonderful. Friendly service, quality baked products & salads all cooked in house. The best coffee. Gets very busy but nice outside eating area. Very unassuming from the outside so easy to miss. Run, donโt walk.

Had a slice of Apple pie and 1 coffee at the table, with good service. The cake did not live up to expectations, it practically lacked substance, few apples and burnt puff pastry; overestimated price.

Be the first to ReplyGood food and nice courtyard
Good menu, tasty food and coffees. Had breakfast and lunch here. Nice Courtyard patio, quiet and good for conversation. Friendly staff.
Be the first to ReplyLovely breakfast
Fresh and awesome breakfast options. Nice garden to sit and have a leisurely breakfast. The bakery products are fresh and you also have the option of buying a range of good for take away to stock your kitchen cabinet.

I donโt understand everyoneโs enthusiasm, the food is ordinary We ordered a salad with vegetables, the vegetables were not fully cooked We ordered sea bass (dinner menu), they brought pieces of smoked sea bass, the octopus was also not tasty Didn't go to breakfast

A spectacle of food! And the people are the coolest... Pajamas at 1:00 in the afternoon. Had a duck confit sandwich. Whoa!
Be the first to ReplySalmon roe bagel is really something to try!
Interesting and unique high class deli style food. Being from New York you get similar items at a great deli, but with the atmosphere and fresh ingredients, I can see the hype. Their fish with white beans for dinner was not bad. A little on their expensive side. But their salmon roe bagel is really something to try!
Be the first to ReplyBest brunch spot in Venice and LA
What Gjusta does is give you the best version you have eaten of each thing, could be bagel with cream cheese, could be a sandwich ot a smoked fish platter. How can I best describe Gjusta a place that does charcuterie, antipasti, smoked fish and because they have a great bakery there are many breads and pastry, Not easy to explain just go there and order a few things.
Be the first to ReplyHidden Gem in Venice
Food was great and the patio outside was lovely. I got the salted mocha and the white chocolate tahini croissant, both were delicious. Bit of a hidden gem if your not a local but I would highly recommend if your in the area.
Be the first to Replywe can not recall that we were ever so disappointed.
A friend of ours introduced us to their bread (olive and fruit) last week - and my wife and I were ecstatic - possibly the best we ever had in the US (and we Germans know serious bread). I still stand to that. So we drove the hour from Pasadena - and wanted to love the place. We really did. Sadly, the breakfast we had - sandwiches - was among the worst we ever had. Even the bread was soggy and greasy, the bacon not remotely crisp, and the eggs totally overcooked. We understand the concept of the place. But we agreed that the egg & ham in a Starbucks, "cooked" in a microwave, was tastier. Sorry - we can not recall that we were ever so disappointed. Finally: "We believe all hourly employees are integral parts of the chain of service and contribute to each guest's experience. 15% will be added to takeout orders and 20% to dine in checks. " I agree when it comes to the employee part. But should this be a part of the general business calculation? Seriously: the bread was so good that I did not mind paying the $14-15-16 per loaf they charge. I sure would not mind paying a dollar or two more - it cost me more to drive over from Pasadena. Actually, I would much rather do this than say: "at $16 for a loaf of bread, we can not afford to pay our staff properly, so please help us with another 15% gratuity". As much as I wanted to love the place, my entire experience felt so wrong I doubt I would ever go again. A shame, really.
Be the first to ReplyMy #1 Spot in LA
Everything is so delicious at Gjusta. My #1 place to go after landing in LAX! Breakfast, lunch or dinner, food is wonderful. Busiest times are the weekend so if you can try to go during the week, when it's calmer, quieter and you'll get great and friendly service, you'll find a spot easily on the patio and have a relaxed enjoyable meal. Then don't forget to pick up a few goodies to take home with you! The whipped goat cheese, marinated feta, their jarred honeys, everything is great. Don't miss it!

Incredible. You'll spend half the day chosing between the marvellous things they're cooking right there. The bagels are out of this world, and the patio is lovely
Be the first to ReplyHam and baguette with no ham and cheese
$15+, very small ham and cheese baguette sandwich absolute ZERO, nada, no ham and a very thin bit of cheese. Unfortunately, got from DoorDash and it was my whole lunch and part of a $90 order. I didnโt have any ham at home, but I was able to scrape off some of the massive amount of butter and mayonnaise and add some Jarlsberg cheese I had from Trader Joes to salvage lunch. But given the cost, namely always premium, I would expect to get a decent size baguette sandwich that actually had the ingredients (ham and cheese) that made it a ham and cheese sandwich. I know this is a very popular place and there are always very busy, but it appears their standards can lapse . I gave three stars instead of one because the loaf of bread in the smoked salmon I received with your order seemed fine. I reached out to customer service at the restaurant via DoorDash and got no response.
Be the first to ReplySuper nice outdoors seating and amazing sandwiches!
I most of all love the vibe and interior design... Very nice! But, also the bread is amazing. My go to is the green juice and the veggie sandwich (a real jaw-breaker..). Perfect for informal meetings or just a casual lunch.
Be the first to ReplyBest restaurant ever!!
Incredible experience from mind blowing taste to the service to the design and layout of the restaurant, honestly best restaurant I've experienced
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast perfection!
Such a good breakfast!
Enormous pastries, great bagels, good coffees and a lovely yard where to enjoy.
Simple concept: you choose, you queue for the till, you order, you pay and you sit andโฆeventually the food arrive!
The yard is great: industrial and modern.
Perfect dinner
The Food was perfect! All of it
We ordered two meat sandwiches, pizza and a salad, everything was really tasty.
Outside tables with heaters, good service!
Tasty food, overpriced, poor service
Every time I try going here to give it a chance I leave disappointed. The products are good, but it's so damn expensive - and adding a required 15% tip to take away, even take away coffee is absurd. If you value your staff enough to make this mandatory, how about you just pay them better. It shouldn't be the customer who has to make this up. Also, if you are going to mandate this 15% you better damn well make sure your the service is up to par - which it's not.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, slow service
We ordered inside and as well had sit down breakfast. There were only about 3 tables occupied when we arrived. Service was slow but we were not in a hurry. I came back a few hours later after hotel check out to take pastries home. The service was incredibly slow. so much slower than the morning. Food was still good lol. Sadly they were out of the ham and cheese croissant that my girlfriend raved about- but suggested replacement sandwich was fantastic. I agree with some of the other reviews that the automatic inclusion of tip has led to the poor service or they simply have poor service when its busy and slow.
Be the first to ReplyLovely outdoor brunch
Initially we went inside to order at the counter to go, but then changed our minds and sat outside. The specialty brunch foods were delish and freshly made. The service was good but it was a little pricey. I got a caeser salad for about $20.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Bagels and Croissants!
We went there for Breakfast. Itโs been super tasty. The kids had Croissants. Those were super good. The coffee was great and the bagels are unlike any bagel we ever had. Sooo good!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, Disappointing un term of service
Great place for breakfast, brunch, high quality but very poor service
Order two hot plates, my wife got it in ten mn, after 40mn mine still not arrived (simple chakchouka with eggs) so had to cancel order as we could not eat hot together!
Croissant and coffee top
zero for service
absolutely not normal that
absolutely not normal that they charge mandatory 15% tip on TO GO food or drinks. no one does it. we consumers should post and fight these abusive charges.
