Granary Square Brasserie London Reviews from The Last Year
Spacious classy eaterie with outdoor terrace!
Excellent! Foods beautifully presented, fresh & high quality, well-seasoned, generous portions and would suit most palates! Of special note: Ginger+soy-glazed Aubergine with cracked durum wheat, Blackened Cod fillet, Tossed Asian Salad. Also, must try their Zucchini Fritti, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Salt crusted Sourdough bread!
Yoshi is the best waiter of all time
The terrace is beautiful 10/10 on a sunny day. The food is very well presented but the real wow factor is the staff. Our waiter Yoshi is the best waiter I have ever had. He was charming and attentive and made us laugh. Really went above and beyond to make it a great experience.
GREAT LUNCH
A lovely lunch with friends. Food excellent and our waitress Amandine was delightful. She was Entertaining and charming.
Most Beautiful Baby Shower
I have attended a baby shower, it was my very first time and I have to say it was beautiful. Loved the environment, the food was delicious and the staff looking after us was so helpful.
Beautiful Brunch
I had my baby shower organized in this restaurant, I was a bit worried it was not the right place as I wanted something very plain and chich. However, it turned out beautiful, my guest enjoyed the place and loved the food a lot. We had a pre-order meal for the brunch and everything was just perfect !! Thank you so much to all the staff for the attention and care they had.
The perfect business meeting
My experience was flawless! I brought some clients for brunch, and the staff made everything incredibly easy for me. I didn't have to worry about a thing; it felt like I was the guest, not the host. The venue is stunning, and the service flowed seamlessly. Highly recommended!
Not the best experience
Having been here on numerous occasions it was a natural choice following a visit to The Lightroom. However, it was not a great experience, in fact it did have a negative impact on our day. Service was below acceptable - we had to ask for more than the one set menu (only 1 provided for a table of 4) for the wine list, had to attract attention to place our food order (after about 30 minutes) and then had to leave the table to ask for dessert menu and eventually the bill. Basically we were, or felt we were, being ignored. In hindsight I should have demanded the service charge be removed from the bill. The food was just ok, small portions and necessary to order extras to make it anything like a meal. So not a good experience and not good value. Will have to think hard about returning to an Ivy restaurant in the future.
Good time
Great food great service, very nice experience, I would definitely recommend to go here for a relaxing night out with friends or even family.
Not recommended
If you haven't worn your 3-piece suit to go to this brasserie, you will be entitled to freezing service and to be kicked out once your dessert is finished. PS for the owner, it is not very ecofriendly to heat the outdoor terrace when it is empty in rainy weather.
Best restaurant ever
I was in this beautiful restaurant a few days ago and I absolutely had to leave a positive review, fantastic decor, typical English food served impeccably but the nicest thing I found in this place was the courtesy, kindness and above all professionalism of the staff which is truly rare. to find, I thank all the staff for making my dinner splendid and for making me feel at home, thank you guys see you soon🌟
Decent lunch from set menu
We enjoyed a pleasant and inexpensive lunch from the set menu at one of the outside tables. Service was friendly but a little slow.
fabulous dinner
Went on a Monday night, quite busy, The food was fabulous, we had starters which were lovely, Our main course was delicious, our waitress Paris was very helpful .
Lovely Food, Crazy Service
I visited with a friend for a late lunch. The restaurant was not very busy, but it took ages for a waiter to take our drinks order. Eventually we ordered a martini and a gin and tonic. We offered to order the food as well and did so, but I specifically asked that the starters not be brought to the table until we had finished our drinks. The waiter replied, “Of course”. A good while later, our drinks hadn’t arrived but our starters did! We politely sent them back and asked for our drinks. I spotted our waiter then sprinting to the bar to get them. We had taken but a couple of sips of our newly arrived drinks, when the starters arrived again! We politely sent them back once more and said we would like to finish our drinks. This time we did and the starters arrived for the third and final time. Our fishcake starters were absolutely delicious. As they arrived, we asked for two glasses of Picpoul de Pinet to enjoy with them. We finished our starters but, sadly, the wine didn’t arrive. Our main course did though. We politely enquired about the wine and told them not to bother now because the Picpoul would not be suitable for our Shepherd’s Pie main course. I asked for a glass of Merlot. We were finally informed the Picpoul had never been ordered and that my glass of wine was now on the house to apologise for the mistake. This was very kind of them and much appreciated and our main course was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the absolutely delicious food, but the service seemed very flustered and out of control. I did try to email or ring the restaurant directly to offer my feedback privately, but they don’t offer an option for this. The food at The Granary Square Brasserie is absolutely lovely, but be prepared for a bit of an effort in getting your favourite drinks with the appropriate course of your meal!
Busy brunch shift that didn't meet expectations...
Being part of the Ivy group and located in a prime spot in Kings Cross I thought that Granary Square Brasserie would be a "safe bet" for two families coming together for Breakfast/Brunch. Upon booking you are asked to book seats for the number of people in your party; including highchairs. We requested a booking for 7 including 2 highchairs. Our party was 3 adults, 2 children and 2 toddlers. I was called up two days before the booking to confirm and to further confirm that we needed a table of 7. Upon arrival the restaurant was very full and we were placed on a table of 6 with both highchairs squeezed on the end. Whilst this "fitted" it meant it was extremely cramped and both the toddlers didn't have adequate room when the plates (which per below were adult sized dining plates and not small children's plates) were in front of them. It was disappointing because we had been asked to book a table of 7, which we did, yet this wasn't facilitated and we were told we couldn't move to another table due to how busy it was. It was also very apparent that there was a shortage of staff and getting attention was very difficult. The waiting staff were all very nice and very helpful I should add they were just clearly trying to wait on more tables than they were able to. There is no children's menu for breakfast (on the website it states a children's menu is available on request you can't see it online) and the waitress informed us that the children's meals they could make were "sausages and mash or pasta". This was at 10am - those options are not really suitable for that time of day. The children ate off the adult menu but this is an expensive solution when there could easily be a small children's breakfast offered alongside the adult food. The adult food in itself was fine - it all came together and tasted fine but compared to all the other restaurant choices in Granary Sq / Coal Drops it wouldn't be somewhere I would come back to. Our bill was not overly expensive considering there were 7 of us dining but sadly based on the above experience I would not return. Perhaps we came on a bad/busy day but there are better options nearby.
Tasty food, good service, bustling atmosphere
We all enjoyed our orders. Our waiter, Tony, was very attentive. Reasonable prices. My title sums it up, great place and will be returning. It's a reliable branch of the Ivy chain.
Great time had by all
This was my first visit to this restaurant and was awed by the ambience and buzz of the venue. Had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent. The staff made my birthday celebrations very special especially Roberto, Stefano and Gabrielle. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return
An interesting take on a classic
Looking at the place, location, decor and all, it would appear to be The Ivy. And, while it is part of the chain and shares the whole concept, the menu is interestingly inexpensive and satisfying. A nice option for a dinner that is meant to be special in a serious, businesslike occasion.
Love it
Amazing as always, from walking through the door, it really is an amazing place, food is absolutely gorgeous, our waitress,Rachel was just so lovely, chatting to us about our stay in London, and just a really lovely young lady, the sort of person that's an asset to a business. We loved it thar much, wexwent back tonight after abba, for drinks at the bar. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed
Great place
Brilliant food and atmosphere. Drinks expensive but nice. Loved Rachael our waitress .. thoroughly enjoyable evening. Went back following day for cocktails 🍷💗
Bad day in the kitchen
Somewhere i go regularly as its perfect for meeting friends centrally in town. I was delighted to get the seat we requested on booking, as I’m recovering from surgery and wanted to be tucked away. I ordered the monkfish and prawn curry. I was very underwhelmed. It attracts a premium price on the main course menu. I had 2 pieces of monkfish. And one was still attached to the skin & sinew. Really nasty . Maybe i was unlucky today but I certainly won’t order it again. For the price it was very poor value. I told the server, but as i had eaten most of the curry (saved the monkfish to last!), there wasn’t much he could do . Please chefs , check your fish filleting before serving
The best thing about this restaurant is it's location and
The best thing about this restaurant is it's location and beautiful interior decor, that has a bit of a wow factor when you walk in, feeling like elegant dining. We started out at the bar where it took the barman quite a long time to take our order, so much so that we were moved to our table just as the drinks were made. I was not impressed with our waiter who had a bit of an attitude and seemed irked that I asked questions about the menu (eg, how big is the lemon sole, or what do you think of the rabbit pie?) -- he even said "oh another question?" When I asked a second one which I thought was quite rude. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. Started out with steak tartar - nice size portion but lacked flavor; for main course I went with the lemon sole which was a bit over cooked for my liking. Side dishes are extra, and a side of Parmesan truffle chip cost £6.50 (I wouldn't have minded but I couldn't taste the truffle). Between the poor service (even the bill took a long time to come), and the average food, it's unlikely that I'll be back here in a hurry.

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕

Might depend on what market you're in? Some have not been developed yet and some are still growing. Make some reservations ahead of time and post them for sale and get ahead of the bot bids? IDK.

I totally agree with you. I’ve had the same thought and issues. But there’s no way to stop it as far as I know, unfortunately. I was worried this was going to happen and apparently it has😞
