They need to restore his third Michelin star ASAP!!! This
They need to restore his third Michelin star ASAP!!! This was the most amazing dining experience I have had in my life. We were completely blown away. We came here for lunch and had been planning to do the smaller, seven course lunch menu. However, once we saw both menus, we decided to go for it with the full tasting menu, I think it was 11 courses. It actually ended up being way more than that because of all the amuse bouches. It was so much food! And all it was absolutely exquisite. The service is exactly what you expect of this world-class restaurant. What I loved was that Guy Savoy himself came around to all the tables and said hello and thanked us for being there. I can't even describe all the food except to say that it was incredibly delicious, creative, unique, and just perfect. Exquisite experience!!
Be the first to ReplySo, during this most recent visit to Paris, I visited 5
So, during this most recent visit to Paris, I visited 5 different Michelin Restaurants Epicure Pur Septime L Tour Da Argant And Guy Savoy I would have to say that this place was our favorite overall. The food The Ambiance Comfort Cadence of dishes for the tasting menu And service was all at the top of the food chain literally and figuratively. Guy Savoy is located in what appears to be a historic building. The entrance is grand and beautiful. With a majestic staircase leading up to the restaurant. The dining rooms are dark, warm, and seductive. The service is first class, gracious and humble without pretense and on par with 3 star Michelin Restaurant Le Cinque also in Paris. I'm actually perplexed as to why this place has 2 stars while Epicure has 3 stars. Both places provide similar 3-star services and food. But I found Epicure to be a little too proud of themselves and lacking in grace and humility. But you can read my review for them when I post it. Anyways, the tasting menu will run you €650 per person, without wine pairing. They do not have a conventional bar nor signature cocktails, but they can accommodate any standard cocktail requests you make. I asked for a Negroni, and my wife had a mock tail. Both were quite good, with the only critique being that the ice cubes for my Negroni were actual ice cubes and not the proper single crystal clear hunk of ice. But the taste was excellent. We had great seats by the window facing out towards the river Seine. Quite romantic. There is the obligatory purse seat and coat check-in like any good Michelin Restaurant. The amount of luxurious ingredients is over flowing. Dishes that we normally don't like were prepared in amazing ways that turned convention on its head (cold raw oysters). My wife actually ate 90% of everything served. Which is incredibly rare for her. The only dish that was a miss for the both of us was the Guinea Fowl. This is apparently a favorite amongst the locals though. My favorite thing was the ice cream trolley. I wanted to eat the whole thing. The best part is that you CAN! They will serve you as much of their home made ice cream with accompaniments as you wish. Without making you feel undignified in the least. I wanted to ask them to roll the trolley back to my hotel So the entire tasting course took a little over three and a half hours to get through. But this dinner was less excruciating than most other tasting menus. Almost as pleasant as my experience at Le Cinq. Which says alot about the comfort of the seats, atmosphere and graciousness of the staff. These tasting menus can sometimes feel more like marathons instead of fine dining. But this place kept the entire evening enjoyable. At the end of the evening each guest was presented with a delicious cruffian (croissant/muffin). This days offering was a Framboise and praline cruffian. Which we enjoyed the next day during our tour bus ride to Mont Saint Michel.

Amazing! Guy himself greeted everyone on the way in and at dinner to make sure everything was excellent. Jackets for men are strongly recommended at dinner but I did see a few sans jacket (it was quite hot when we went). The rooms are chic with modern decor and art. I expected the service to be a little stuffy- I know I'm generalizing traditional French fine dining. But the staff was welcoming and had a great sense of humor! Every dish was delightful and I have never been so full from a tasting menu in my life! Many of the dishes had accompanying sauces that were poured over at the table- I kinda liked that. They ruined the aesthetic of the dish for you so you didn't feel bad cutting into a masterpiece and the sauces were yummy! Among the courses were also a cheese cart and a dessert cart with ice creams and little treats. My husband doesn't consume caffeine and asked for herbal tea to finish. We were surprised when they rolled out a cart with fresh herbs growing! He selected mint and verbena, which were cut and steeped together at the table. There was no established wine pairing but we were able to tell the staff our wine preferences and he curated pairings along the way with the tasting. Everything was paced out so nicely that I thought we had been there for maybe an hour and noticed 2.5 hours had passed! It was all together nearly a 4h affair but it didn't seem like it at all. Must visit!
Be the first to ReplyThis review is way overdue, as our dinner experience here
This review is way overdue, as our dinner experience here was in February, and now it is already September...At the time of our dining the restaurant had 3 Michelin Stars, but the day after our dining there, we read an article that Monsieur Savoy has lost a star. Must have been an awkward call to get that news... Regardless, our dinner at Guy Savoy Paris will forever remain in our memory as the best meal of our lives by far! My hubby and I are fortunate to have had dined at many incredible restaurants around the world, but this place is just above and beyond them all. It's not just the food, but the whole experience was phenomenal including the location which cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world. Located in Le Monnaie, the restaurant is situated on the 2nd floor of a functioning minting building. The entrance is grand and the staircase that leads to the restaurant at night is majestic. Our hats are off to M. Savoy on all his achievements and his management team. He is not only talented but is a very warm and friendly person. It should be noted that hubby and I were not in our best conditions due to our stomach problems starting that day and we were not hungry at all...yet every single dish impressed us. Maitre D personally designed the menu for us since we told him that we couldn't eat that much. He inquired what we liked to eat and designed it so that it was light on the stomach. We had the best table in the house as per hubby's request. Everything was perfect! Their prix fixe was 13 course dinner, but we reduced ours to 6 courses. There weren't much price difference from reducing all those courses and it is understandable because they had to design a custom menu for us. Our bill was US$1100 including wine. Our menu was seafood dominant and of course included was M. Savoy's famous artichoke soup. Everything was divine and service was impeccable. Sommelier recommended the most amazing wines. Will absolutely return again!

Be the first to ReplyFirst meal of the trip and it was a good one.
Review is also for lunch too but still quite expensive. The good Exquisite preparation and flavors from the 3 layers of caviar, the truffle and artichoke soup to lobster and chicken. Everything about the meal was wonderful as they kept coming and coming with all sorts of bells and whistles. The bad The room we dined in was very quiet. Almost too quiet for my liking. The room had only 4 tables and I felt everyone was just whispering to be polite. It was kinda annoying and reminded me why I'm starting to get bored of fine dining.
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I returned to Guy Savoy for another meal 17
My wife and I returned to Guy Savoy for another meal 17 months after our last one. This time we ate without our daughter, but with our son, a cousin and an old friend, and we had lunch, instead of dinner. The dinner's 13+ course "Colours, Textures & Flavours Menu" was just too much for me. The lunch's seven course "Keep it simple" menu was just about perfect. To me, the best gastronomic meals are convivial and that starts with the chef. As he often does, Chef Guy Savoy greeted us as we entered the restaurant. After that, we were cared for by the excellent front of house staff. As for the food itself, the kitchen produces some of the most delicious and extraordinary dishes that I have ever experienced. Period. I'll post photos. The wine pairings were also extraordinary. I think that asparagus and artichoke are two ingredients with which it's very difficult to pair a wine, but, for the first time in my life, the selected wines paired perfectly with them. If you want to experience gastronomy at the highest level, you cannot go wrong with a meal at Guy Savoy. I'm already looking forward to my next meal there.
Be the first to ReplyThe most unbelievable experience.
Every detail was accounted for. The only thing I'm bummed about is that I'll probably never have a better experience - where do I go from here? The service, the food, the drinks, the creativity, the pairings...simply amazing. If you can afford the splurge, do it!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant is pronounced Ghee Savuah.
What an honor TO MEET THE CHEF HIMSELF at the restaurant. I couldn't believe that he was standing at the front when we entered the restaurant. The restaurant requires a jacket to be worn at the restaurant. If you forget one, they have a rental available, however the fit may not be in your favor. This restaurant is the EPITOME of HIGH-QUALITY GASTROMY and requires a serious splurge to dine here. Lunch prices are economical than dinner, although this was the most expensive complete meal I've ever had. Prepare to leave an open tab because nothing is free here, including water. We started out with a CHAMPAGNE TOAST and this sparkling wine was just right to mood right. Initially, we were the only people sitting in the room and it was very quiet and roomy. We were greeted by three different staff members that were there to assist throughout our journey. One of the members was a Wine Sommelair and his only job is to pour and help you find the right wine. I was reluctant to try the PAIR WINES with my meal, because my partner doesn't drink. However, they let me pair wines only for myself and I got to experience the beauty of French wines in different arrays of color, bitterness, and flavor. We went with their LUNCH SET MENU which consisted of: AMUSE BOUCHE; GREEN PEA DISH; TEXTURES AND TEMPERATURES OF GREEN AND WHITE ASPARAGUS; COULOURS OF CAVIAR, SMOKED SABAYON; RAW/COOKED LOBSTER WITH CORAL, WITH A CARROT-LOBSTER CRISP; ARTICHOKE SOUP with BLACK TRUFFLE; LAYERED TRUFFLED MUSHROOM BRIOCHE; GUINEA FOWL COOKED THREE WAYS, SAUCE SUPREME, SALAD OF GUINEA FOWL LIVERS; SORBET; RICE PUDDINGS We ended our meal with COFFEE. It came in this tall cup and upon lifting it was a small round chocolate cookie hidden underneath. The drink was excellent and I loved how the chef came back to every table to see how the meal was. I took many photos but one that I am very fond of was the picture I took with the mighty chef. In summary, the preparation, the presentation, the professionalism, and the taste were all incredible. There are no words to describe how everything was immaculate. Although this dining pleasure has dented my wallet, it was all worth it. Since this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and this dining gastronomy came in full circle in completing my Parisian trip. If the Chef is ever reading this, here's what I want to tell him. Chef Savoy, merci pour cette expérience inoubliable.

Everything just tasted right and executed to perfection. The waiting staff moves swiftly without wasting any steps. Is there was a perfect restaurant on earth., this is probably it!
Be the first to ReplyWent for lunch and had the tasting menu.
We were just about the first group to be seated at this beautiful restaurant and were extremely surprised to be greeted by the chef, Guy Savoy, himself! He took pictures with us and even gave our daughter a gift for her birthday! But not only the chef but the entire staff of amazing people treated us like we were VIP celebrities. The food was spectacular! Each course was slightly different in taste and presentation and complemented each bite as you proceeded through the course. A few things that really surprised us for such a high end meal were that the food was very robust and hearty! Not tiny little mini foods you might expect from a 3 star Michelin restaurant! Also, do not think you will need to go to a second meal after! We were all very full by the end and I personally have a giant appetite. In fact, try not to indulge too much in their bread as you may get too full to enjoy the meal. But the bread, along with everything else, was exquisite! We went to many other bakeries while in Paris and we believe the bread at Guy Savoy was easily our favorite. This restaurant will spoil you and really make every other restaurant feel drab. Hope to be back soon to try more food and enjoy the best service we have ever seen. We have had many wonderful meals in Los Angeles. San Francisco, Tokyo, Seoul, etc. But this meal was truly spectacular and memorable.
Be the first to ReplyGuy Savoy was exceptional as far as service, ambiance, wine
Guy Savoy was exceptional as far as service, ambiance, wine list, and furnishings. The food was also quite good but did not "wow" my wife and me at every turn. What stood out the most was the quiet atmosphere and ambiance. There was a fireplace and we spent most of our meal dining alone in a room with windows overlooking the Seine. Truly, an exquisite ambiance. The service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, as one should expect from a restaurant with a converted third Michelin star. The wine pairings were not part of the menu but were selected by a sommelier who (as you should expect) really knows his wine. I was so impressed I asked for the full list of wines served afterward. The food seemed to get better and better after each course, with the crescendo being a chicken and truffle dish. A truffle soup was also exceptional. But the dishes became less impressive towards the end. All in all, I would rate Guy Savoy 4.5 out 5. And, like Per Se, I think Carte Blanche in Dallas is better to be completely honest. But Guy Savoy is definitely worth a stop if you're in Paris.
Be the first to ReplyWorld renowned and for good reason! My wife and I
World renowned and for good reason! My wife and I celebrated our 105h anniversary at Guy Savoy. This wonderful place transcends the restaurant category as it truly is more about having an experience to remember. A wine list that was so heavy that a side table was needed. 8+ staff members assigned to each table, even ours of two! The food was both creative and perfectly executed. You will most definitely spend $600+ per person to enjoy your time here, but it's well worth it. Our 10th anniversary was made even more special by visiting Guy Savoy and will be back for our 20th!!

What's no to say: 13 courses of some of the most delicious food one can imagine. Attentive service, spectacular decor... it's not perfect as some of the dishes are weaker than others, but it is the culinary experience of a lifetime.

Definitely worth taking time to make reservations far in advance, you won't be disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyCan confidently say that we had the best meal of our lives
Can confidently say that we had the best meal of our lives in Guy Savoy. We were a bit skeptical if this place would live up to our expectations given the high price tag even for a 3 Michelin star and our high expectations, but it ended up being everything we hoped for and more! Pretty much after every single dish, Andrew and I would look at each other and say "wow that was the best lobster / caviar / truffle / veal etc. I've ever had!". Every single thing was cooked to perfection; some of the off-the-menu side dishes can easily be on the tasting menu list at some other restaurants. Although the chef used a lot of heavy materials or ingredients like caviar, truffle, and foie gras, nothing is overdone; rather, they complement the original flavors of the dishes perfectly. There was no set wine pairing so we went with the sommelier's recommendations by the glass, and every glass was simply divine and went with each dish perfectly. What really impressed me was that the progression of the 13-course menu was perfect. Despite the extremely good entrees, the main dish was amazing and truly the highlight of the meal. This is different than a lot of other tasting menu places we've been where the main dish paled in comparison to the entrees. There were 5 desserts and a whole dessert cart at the end so that was definitely a delight too. The whole dinner took us 5 hours and needless to say we left extremely happy - and full! The decor and the setting was quite to my liking - understated dark interiors with classic Parisian mouldings and tasteful modern art, while overlooking the Seine. The restaurant is located in a building that resembles a former palace and entering via the grand staircase was quite the experience. Service was on point and seamless. They saw very quickly that Andrew doesn't eat foie gras and brought out an amazing truffle porridge quickly. Although I will say service was a bit cold; not sure if it's because they didn't speak English well enough to chitchat with us. We definitely heard more conversations between guests and waiters in other tables nearby - all in French of course. Overall a magnificent experience. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyWent for dinner a couple of weeks ago.
Having been disappointed by our first 3-star dinner in Paris early in the week I was a bit cautious... but there is no need. This is a top notch, world class restaurant. It is an impeccable experience from start to finish. The service is amazing. They are attentive, informed, they have passion and they are playful and have fun and seem to enjoy their jobs which allows the diner to have fun. Also the restaurant itself is gorgeous. Everything is purposeful and works. Now to the food: I wanted to go through dish by dish, but it's so hard. It's just all soo good. Delicious, beautiful, inventive. The meal kept surprising and there were basically no letdowns or phoned-in courses. I'll only mention a few highlights that I can still taste a couple weeks later: The "bursting tomato" is genius and a masterclass in tomato. It's a dish masquerading as another dish but it's definitely not just a gimmick. The half a dozen different preparations of tomato made eating it a rollercoaster ride. It's a shake-your-head-in-the-middle-of-eating type of experience. Oh, and let's not forget that it's served with a side dish of a tomato tart that any restaurant on the planet could put out on it's own as a course. The tomato dish was followed up by the "colours of caviar" and if you didn't know by this point you were in for something special, this dish made sure you knew. Served like a parfait, of course there was a lot of delicious caviar, but the smoked sabayon and the caviar vinegar? It was ridiculous. Oh yeah, and this dish was also served with a side dish of caviar and sabayon served in an egg shell. There was a bonus course of mushrooms and then my fiancee's favorite dish the lobster curry (really not doing it justice calling it that, but she can leave her own review)...The artichoke and truffle soup with truffled mushroom brioche was another standout. The guinea fowl was amazing. The cheese... The desserts that just kept coming...I'm running out of words to describe the food, so I won't try. Needless to say at this point. This is a meal we won't soon forget. It was not a meal, it was an experience... it was a memory. It was everything a 3-star tasting menu should be. And, it was worth every penny.

We spent a perfect lunch at Guy Savoy, enjoying the space, the encounter with the chef, and the very funny and talkative waiter....Every course was excellent. The recommendations were perfect. We got treated with some additional "surprises". We felt very welcome, and this definitely counts as one of the best place to celebrate something exceptional, for the happy ones who can afford it. The highlights were the soup, and the mille feuilles revisited. No picture can give them justice! Many thanks to the staff.

It has been almost three months since my wife, daughter and I enjoyed the Colours, Textures & Flavours Menu that was served in more than 13 courses at Restaurant Guy Savoy, but I still haven't stopped thinking about it. The food was delicious and the whole experience was fun.The restaurant space in the Monnaie de Paris is beautiful. You climb a grand staircase and work your way around to the front door. Inside, the aesthetic is simple, clean and classic. There are multiple dining rooms. I regret not asking for a tour of the entire space, but the dining room in which we were seated was beautiful with a high ceiling and large-format artwork beautifully framed on the walls. The service was attentive and professional. We were Americans in Paris with an inadequate command of the French language, but were immediately put at ease by a staff member who told us, "It is okay that you do not speak French. I only speak French to show off!" We were told that there were 35 chefs working in the kitchen that night.I'm growing less enthusiastic about extravagant multi-course dinners, because I simply cannot eat as much as I used to eat without becoming uncomfortable, but our meal was exceptional. In fact, our daughter has declared it to be the best meal that she has ever had.Adequately describing more than 13 courses would require a lengthy essay, so I will post photos with captions. A sommelier helped to pick a very nice, light burgundy that was served in the lightest, most delicate wine glass that I have ever held. Everything we ate was interesting and delicious.I definitely intend to return for another meal, but would order something a la carte that is more manageable for my appetite. If it weren't for the lengthy after-dinner walk back to our hotel, I might not have survived the night.
Be the first to ReplyAnother great dinner during a work trip to Paris.
I think the other reviews give accurate insights into the food etc. which is all excellent. We found the service to be fantastic. Really enjoyed the banter with our waiter and it was really interesting seeing the whole space including kitchen. I'd like to do a private event here at soem point as they have a really nice room for it. In addition to the food being excellent, the wines we chose were also great and the Som was very knowledgeable and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Truly one of the best meals of our lives, an amazing culinary experience. We splurged here as the pinnacle of our honeymoon trip and it was well worth it for the tasting menu. After a glass of champange, we started with a amuse bouche of champagne jelly, zucchini with goat cheese, radish, asparagus, and snap pea. Next was a foie gras bite on toast and a smoking plate with leek and tarragon to smell beforehand. Everything was impeccably plated and no detail was forgotten. Our next three courses were dry ice cooked salmon with green caviar, their famous artichoke soup with black truffle and brioche with black truffle butter, and then a filet mignon with roasted eggplant and crispy potato lattice and sliced steak with demi galce.Onto the dessert portion, first had a palate cleanser of peach foam with frozen mint and peach sorbet center and then apricot with honey and goat cheese whipped cream on a muesli crisp with apricot sauce. This apricot dish was the most beautifully plated food I have ever seen, I still think about it all the time. We thought we might be finished here, but then the dessert cart came out! So many selection, we seemed to pick one of everything to try and it was all incredible. The service was absolutely amazing as well, you feel as if you are being entertained in someone's home for the evening. Yes, this is a big splurge, but if you are going to spend the money for an impeccable coursed meal, this is the place to do it.

From the moment you step into Monnaie de Paris, which houses the restaurant, you become part of a well-choreographed flawless dance, with impeccable service and food, where no detail is left out. The menu is well rounded - not necessarily in this order: greens, artichokes, black truffles, oysters, granite of seaweed and lemon, mussels, lobster, caviar, John Dory, foie gras, duck, veal, cheeses, earl grey tea sorbet, tomato-framboise, chocolate tartlet, verbena ice and ice-cream trolly. The setting is 6 rooms overlooking the Seine river. The experience was only made better by a visit to our table by Guy Savoy, the chef himself, who was kind enough to talk to all diners. You don't leave empty handed - they give you a delicious, sweet brioche you can enjoy for breakfast the next day and a candleholder in celebration of their 50-year anniversary. Bravo!@Experiences.XO

That's gastronomic speak for one of the best meals and dining experiences. From the entry, seating, greeting, service, cuisine, sommelier, ambience, comfort - this experience exceeded expectations. See photos for dish descriptions. Should be given 6 Yelp stars, 2 for every Michelin star. Had all the signature dishes. Please mindthat there is dress code for gents, but don't worry they do have jackets, not sure if in every size but our son got one that fit perfectly. Already planning the return. Thank you.
