Trip to San Francisco
The food was very good . A very busy restaurant on a Friday night. The service was great no real complaintsโฆ lost a star due to grumpiness of the hostessโฆ other than that solid choice.
Be the first to ReplySmell, Cold, Tables Too close And Crowded
So I dine out a bit. My assessment: the spin has gotten to their head. 1. Freezing cold space 2. Smelled like old fish when you walk in the door 3. Cramming customers in by crowding tables. 4. Tables literally in the entrance to the dining room that should never be a table location. This restaurant is the poster child for greed and disrespect for its customers. The food would have to be beyond belief. Itโs not. I would give it a ZERO.
Be the first to ReplyWe loved this restaurant!
We loved this restaurant! Really fun to try all the different dishes and a great atmosphere- every table packed. We lucked out with a really helpful server who helped explain each dish and even took time to show my son how to use chopsticks. The dim sum was delicious - particularly loved Xiao Long Bao.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Chinese experience.
Great Chinese restaurant, excellent food - went twice during our 5 nights stay in San Francisco. A great experience we will remember.
Be the first to ReplyYum!
Excellent dim sum!! We enjoyed afternoon dim sum. The chicken feet, egg tarts, turnip cakes and mango pudding were all fantastic.

Asian restaurant, We were 11 people and We ordered differently, in our case the Peking duck was excellent with its crispy skin texture and juicy meat. The flavorful crispy pork belly accompanied by dijon mustard and ginger really good. The service good, the waiters needs to have a better mood and patience with a large group
Be the first to ReplyRibs, I don't think so
In my opinion the food was average at best, chicken and sweetcorn soup, and pork wontons to start, both were decent, pork ribs and roast half duck for mains, the pork ribs were very disappointing, Tony ribs, and pieces of pork tenderloin, my duck was only warm when it arrived, we also had two cocktails, which were quite good, we decided to complain about the ribs, and after a defensive exchange, they decided to take them off the bill, a fine looking restaurant, but really the food was a let down.

Excellent food and service. Had the clam as sashimi and the other parts they fried in a light seasoned batter that was excellent. Great meal and the food came out quickly, though we took our time.
Be the first to ReplyOversold - nothing to write home about
We had been planning to visit Harborview for a high quality authentic Chinese dinner in a buzzy atmosphere for our daughterโs 21st but plans changed and my husband and I visited on a rainy Saturday night. As others have pointed out - do not expect any kind of view let alone a Harbor view. Having booked well in advance, 8pm seating, we were somewhat surprised not to be seated in the main dining area advertised online. Instead we were in what seemed like a garden - it was off the patio - overflow room with fold out chairs and basic set up. The table was near the patio door and although the patio was not in use for guests - staff were going in and out of the door - so had to put my coat on to keep warm! To the food - fine but nothing to write home about. We had the Mongolian beef which was very nice (tasty, tender beef) and the Kung Pow chicken which was not up to scratch - tasted like sweet and sour - a little hard to find the chicken. The chicken was brought out some time before the rice and the. We had to wait again for the beef. Portions were a decent size. Service was generally efficient. Overall, not a bad Chinese meal but donโt go out of your way. So glad not to have had the โspecial dinnerโ there.
Be the first to ReplySatisfies the Chinese food craving
After a month of wandering around the U.S, eating fast food, we needed a meal that was closer to what we eat back home. The dishes here can't be rated excellent by Asian standards but they hit the spot.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre at Best
I donโt get the buzz. There are better restaurants elsewhere. We arrived on time for a reservation and had to wait as other parties also arrived and piled up at the foot of the stairs. Then, as one giant group but not well informed, we were told to go upstairs which ended up in parties that arrived before others waiting even longer (as whomever was closest to the stairs went first). One party without a reservation said they had to go upstairs to the restroom and never returned, clearly they went up to get a table. The food was okay, the lemon chicken is basically chicken tenders. We never got a drink that was ordered. The food and drinks come out as theyโre ready for any individual at the table, so donโt expect drinks or courses to come out for the entire table together. And thereโs really a view of the Ferry Building, not the harbor.
Be the first to ReplyMUST STOP
Food was better than we could imagine. IT IS A MUST STOPWHEN IN SAN FRANCISCO. Do yourself a favor book and get the spicy dumplings .
Be the first to ReplyThe most amazing food!
We couldn't have picked a better restaurant for our stay in San Francisco. The food is super fresh and comes out hot, right away. The flavor is incredible. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken, ribs, and the green beans were recommended to us by the table next to us. Not one thing disappointed, outside of us wishing we would have ordered the sticky buns! If you're going to order a drink, my husband said the Old Fashioned was the best he's ever had. Just an overall incredible experience. Authentic, delicious food!
Be the first to ReplyOk if need place for group dinner but not very pleasant
I am local to SF and chose this restaurant as we had a group visiting. The service was not good and the food was marginal and expensive. And you get only a limited view.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Cantonese food
Very busy restaurant that needs booking, while not cheap the food was delicious. Very comprehensive menu, we asked the waiter for advice on what to eat, and weโre not disappointed. Nor did he try and make us over order. Felt like we were back in Hong Kong, and would definitely be back, if we return to San Francisco.
Be the first to ReplySuperb Cantonese in San Francisco with a view
This place is authentic. One feels like one is in Hong Kong. The food comes out quickly and hot. The menu has everything.
Tip - call ahead for reservations and if you want a Peking duck, reserve it in advance.
Worst and most expensive Chinese in SF
I am a local to SF. Read the Yelp reviews - Peking duck that is all bone, bland undercooked food with tiny portions, and rude dishonest service with mandatory 18% tip. If you want to be served another tableโs dish then watch them carry it right over to another table after informing them (not sanitary at all), go here.
Be the first to ReplyGreat quality Cantonese Food (take out or dine in!)
During the lockdown we discovered Harborview Restaurant's for Take Out - Their food was exactly what we needed to satisfy the need for high quality Cantonese food/Dim Sum! Since then we've continued to have take out and dine in.
Every time the food is authentic, perfectly flavoured and high quality. The dim sum dishes are excellent and there's a good variety (not just dumplings)... Can recommend the Chilli Crab / Lobster (depending upon what's freshly available) or the Lobster shrimp dumplings! :-)
Good food, terrible service
Food was good, but service was terrible. The waiter was very short with us and irritated when we asked for recommendations. Very rare that we receive service that causes me to not want to leave a tip. Amidst this, we learn that 18% gratuity is automatically added. This is what you get when the gratuity is automatic. 2 stars because food was fresh and authentic, but service was worthy of negative stars. Our waiter was Gene ๐
Be the first to ReplyGreat View and Great Food!
Enjoyed dim sum to start. Shrimp sumai and bbq pork buns were great. Also loved the lobster dumplings. The Peking duck was perfect and the honey walnut shrimp also good. Also great wine list and specialty drinks. Loved sitting outside under the laser lights of the Bay Bridge.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Chinese Food by Hyatt Regency/Ferry Terminal
Excellent Chinese food; not in Chinatown, but rather by the Hyatt Regency/Ferry Building. Modern, on the 2nd floor; large space. Excellent service; real deal Chinese menu. Loved the shu mai pork/shrimp dumplings (watch out for the pepper sauce and mustard sauceโฆhot!); Peking Duck on delicious light steamed rolls; and pork E-noodles. Reasonable wine list.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful, upscale Chinese cuisine, with a great view
We had a large table of family and friends. It was a very authentic, family style Chinese meal. The courses were amazing, the service was quick and efficient. They have a fully stocked bar, as well as a gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We had a few ethnic Chinese with us and they said it felt like being back at home. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Dinner seating
The staff was efficient and they managed our group of eleven very well.
The atmosphere and decor was nice.
Unfortunately, I found the food to be average and disappointing... I'd suggest you avoid the "Salt and Pepper Scallops" appetizer - - I didn't realize the scallops would be coated in batter and fried... This item was disappointing. I also had the "Harborview Beef" which was tasty but nothing special.
Others in my group enjoyed the dumplings and soups.
Eh, nothing much else to say... You decide.
Will be back again
Came here on a Sunday morning at 10:30. The parking lot downstairs was full, but surprisingly, found free street parking. The weather was amazing for Sf, so outdoor seating filled up fast. There was plenty of staff so we never felt neglected.
Salt+Pepper crab: solid 4.5/5. Crab was very fresh.
Dried scallop and egg white fried rice: 4/5. Good, not great. Didnt have "wok hay" taste.
Baked bbq pork bun: 5/5. Oh my.... best I've ever had. So soft. Filling taste amazing. That sweet crust put it over the top. After my 1st bite, all I could say to my gf was "oh my God" and smiled.
Fried shrimp dumpling: 5/5. Really good. They do not skimp on the shrimp.
Shrimp dumpling: 5/5. All shrimp, no filler.
Shrimp and chive dumpling: 4.5/5. Very solid.
Guava mojito: 3/5
Very good service. A bit pricy, but expected. Will bring the kids next time.
