Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort Honolulu Reviews from The Last Year
Love the destination and beach area.
In Waikiki this hotel offers the best beach area as it is deep and hasn't been washed away. Resort elevator system in the rainbow towers is horrible though, which is why it is 4 stars instead of 5.
They lack transparency.
I come to find out I was charged $360 for parking fees. They failed to tell me while I was checking in. I reached out to them about this after seeing this bill and they won't do anything about it. Very disappointing. This was our baby moon/wedding trip. Thanks Hilton for giving us something to remember you by.
Very average
Not the best of Hilton’s, you probably can’t get anything closer to the beach right enough but the hotel feels a little tired, is exceptionally busy. Staff absolutely fine, food very, very average…Room amenities very poor with no bottled water supplied.
Fabulous Stay!!
We stayed at this hotel for it's amazing history. Considering it is very crowded and popular, the property was very clean and well run. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to the Ali'i Tower which is nice for couples and adults as it has it's own quiet pool on the 2nd floor roof with lovely views of the water. The room was very nice, very comfortable mattress and nice bathroom. Very user friendly. The balcony was large and we had a view of the Super pool and center of the property and Ocean view. You can also swim on the beach and in the lagoon. Tropics restaurant was very good. There is plenty of convenient shopping in the Tapa and Diamond Head Towers, and the shopping area on the property. Several restaurants are on the property and there is even a post office. A luau is offered as well. The only downside are the crowds and it can get quite noisy outside. The room itself was quiet if you close the sliding doors and curtains at night. There was a nice fireworks show on, (every), friday night we could see from our west facing balcony. If you are interested in the fabulous history of this property, there is an informational exhibit on the wall in the Tapa Tower. This hotel made our vacation!
This was our second time staying at the Hilton Hawaiian
This was our second time staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was very busy when we arrived on Mother's Day. Our room wasn't ready so we checked our bags and headed to lunch as we were hungry from a long day of travel. Tropics is a beach front restaurant and it offers a variety of comfort foods. As we were eating we received a text that our room was ready. Our room was ample for our stay - two queen beds, small refrigerator, and we got a partial ocean view. We noticed there were no top sheets on the beds, only a comforter which was odd. We called and asked for top sheets which we got on our first room cleaning. I also noticed a bunch of hair stuck to the shower wall....really gross that the shower wasn't completely cleaned. They also cleaned that the next morning. Overall our stay was nice with everything we needed was on the property. We visited the Starbucks daily and ABC store was nice for the smaller things we needed. The hospitality was top notch too, great staff!
Hilton Hawaiin Village
Excellent property with access to restaurants, shopping and Waikiki beach. Our view from the Tapa Tower room 2947 was awesome. Room was clean, the staff refreshed it daily. Over all really great experience. Only one issue was trying to figure out where to get your daily water and i finally gave up so we just purchased water from the store. Highly recommend a stay here in may
Paradise-Big Island Hawaii
I stayed in Waikoloa Village, HI which is located about 20 minutes north of the Kona Airport. I am a single senior male traveling solo …and I would return to Hawaii in a heartbeat. Paradise! Hillside views abound as well as weather in the mid 80s with perfect daily breeze...bit of light rain occasionally too. The Waikoloa Village is very close (3-10 miles) to some of the best beaches in HI. Overall, the island is exceptionally clean (no litter anywhere) and offers a quiet, tranquil, beautiful atmosphere. Places to discover and be entertained is varied and available all across the island. I spent my first 5 days discovering the island and my final days at the beach. Fabulous greenery views with wild turkeys, goats, beautiful birds greeting me daily as I drank my local “Kona Coffee”. The culture and people is noticeably laid back and relaxed... kindly locals and staff informed-helped- cooperated with me at all times. I would return to Waikoloa Village, HI and this paradise known as the big Island HI in a heartbeat. Plenty to see and do!
A great resort, that needs more child-friendly restaurants.
It was a wonderful stay. The room was large and comfortable with a nice balcony. The pools were great. We ended up spending most of our time at the resort rather than sightseeing. I would have given it 5 stars except the restaurants that we went to were not great. Other than pizza, there wasn't much available to go to with the kids, and the food really was not that good.
Mixed experience but great location. Take care with which building you choose.
Well we were so looking forward to our stay at the Hilton where we had stayed previously. But we left disappointed. We arrive at around 11.00 am but had to wait in a long queue to request at a cost of USD70 to be able to access a room earlier. So we paid out $70 and got a room. The room was in the Diamond Head building. Great views from the top floor and a separate bedroom, but the bedroom was internal with no windows so felt somewhat claustrophobic. Also, and the worst was the noisiest A/C I have ever experienced. Not only was it super noisy enough to prevent sleep at night, it didn’t cool well at all. Positives- nice staff, great beach, access to Ala Moana, restaurants. Cons - pricey, aircon, old facilities now, noisy and very big, some restaurants closed still, pools not terribly large
There are more negatives about this place and positives.
So let's start off by saying if you have a little ones this is the place to go, just for the pools. if you get a balcony with an ocean view, that is absolutely gorgeous. The beach is beautiful. Now let's talk about the negatives : 1. They do not have laundry for their guest. you have to pay for a Service to do your laundry. Even though it says there is laundry, there is none. 2. Every store asked you to tip, whether or not they did a service for you or not. I went into a grocery store to buy an umbrella, They ask me for a tip. When you don't tip them, their whole attitude changes. 3. There was no microwave. 4. The prices for food is ridiculous. For a breakfast, we paid 100 some dollars. ThereThere was only two of us. If you come to the resort, be prepared to budget for at least $7000 just for food. If you're looking to save money, stay at an Airbnb and swim in the ocean. Do not stay at this place. They nickel and dime you for every literal thing. I have regrets.
More of a mega-condo-complex feel than a vacation feel
I read a lot of the reviews that it felt like living in a huge condo rather than staying at hotel, and now I know what they meant! There's like no service. There's one coffee shop that's on the premises (coffee, like an espresso machine) and the line is always HUGE. I takes 30 minutes to get just a cup of coffee! The maintenance and cleaning services were fine, but that was all. No concierge. If you wanted to ask a simple question you had to wait in another 30 minute line. The restaurants were decent, and yes it is family oriented so be prepared for plenty of screaming kids. They had an adult pool... somewhere, but it wasn't ocean front... so what's the point? On the upside we really enjoyed the umbrella scene on the beach and the fireworks were pretty cool. So all-in-all it was pretty good - I think I'm just used to more of a service-oriented scene.
Staying here has been a nightmare.
The noise pollution echoing up, amplified by the towers, supplied by the mediocre bands they have play at Hau Tree Cantina from 6p-10p EVERY.SINGLE. NIGHT ruins any chance of sleep. Which for folks on west coast time means we (& our kids) are kept up from 9p-1am. It's f'ing awful, & absolute torture. Those bands are entertaining no more than 50-100 people, but the incessant noise pollution they create negatively impacts hundreds of people. It's especially horrible due to our children not getting any sleep during prime bedtime hours. Sunday nights are even more excruciating, as the competing luau on the roof of the parking garage in conjunction with the band's amplified 'music' makes the noise level unbearable and today, we have had to deal with those two things along with a high-pitched alarm that has been echoing up the towers since 8am. We're at 13 hours of this alarm ~ that no one has done anything to sort it out. I've called and complained to the front desk and they wanted to know if I wanted to speak to security..? No. I want you to deal with it. I don't work here. Staying here is the opposite of a vacation. Avoid at all costs unless you like to feel stressed out and enjoy very little sleep. Zero stars.
Hotel complex resort
We stayed in the Ali building and had our own pool so no kids and was quiet. Got in the room early by early entry for $75.00 as a member. Booked a couple of months early and when they had a sale gave me the savings. Comfortable and quiet room. Be prepared for the food prices. 2 sandwiches were $31.00 for lunch and we ate them in the room and watched a Astros game. Plenty of pools and space to walk around. Friday Luau is well worth it and do the premium for the extra stuff that comes with the price.
Huge hotel
Waikiki has little beach and you have to choose the hotel so as not to walk from the center. At this Hilton you are on the beach. It is huge and with many people. I don't like this, but I knew where it was coming from. The service is friendly and collaborative. You have to check the accounts carefully, they made a mistake with me and charged me $170 more. A multiplication problem. The room on the 15th floor with views of the beach was a pleasure. You see wonderful fireworks on Fridays. The King bed, the correct bathroom and the large room. I wouldn't go back although I'm coming back so I can sleep in Honolulu before flying to LosAngeles. It's not my type of hotel, but it's so difficult to find a small, well-located, luxury hotel in the USA.
Came for our 11yr anniversary, hotel wasn't bad but could
Came for our 11yr anniversary, hotel wasn't bad but could be better, we stayed in the Kahlia Tower which appears to be an older tower, I base this off the fact that the carpet doesn't look to have been replaced in many many years. The room itself was clean however I booked a king size bed and felt like I was given a queen as it was much smaller bed than what I have at home. The pillows were horrible, very flat and you had to pile 3 on top of one another to get a solid pillow, I actually ended up take a cushion from the couch and using it as a pillow. The pull out bed from the couch was also a issue, we pulled it out just to look at it and all these crumbs fell out from the couch, you can tell they don't get much attention at all. Bedding in both the main bed and pull out bed had stains, I've never understood why hotels use white sheets and comforters all the time, the down cover from the bed was tucked into a cover but once it came out of the cover you could tell it hadn't been washed frequently. The AC in the room was finicky, the fan wouldn't turn up past a light flow no matter how much I pushed high fan that fan never kicked it. The amenities included a in room refrigerator, tv and pool use. We did go down to the super pool but it was super gross, the water was cloudy and you could tell ppl where using the pool as a rinse off area from the beach because there was a lot of sand in the bottom of the pool plus the pool had a slimy feel to it...not the best. The room was good for what we needed it...sleep. I wouldn't come back to stay here.
If you want peace and to enjoy your vacation, DON'T COME
If you want peace and to enjoy your vacation, DON'T COME HERE!!!! The place is crawling with children and parents who want a break from parenting them. In turn, they let them run rampant. The hotel is extremely crowded. They might as well call it a city not a village. There is only 1 adult pool which is not just the smallest, but also closes at 6:00 PM. You're honestly better off at a motel or even sleeping on the street. We'll never be back
They stole a pair of leggings from our room.
We were with a group and they also stole a necklace from another room. The food was pricy and not great. The rooms were nice but not worth it. Parking is $70 a day.
What has happened to this hotel? This was our third stay at
What has happened to this hotel? This was our third stay at the Rainbow tower and we were so terribly disappointed, and I've decided my loyalty to the Hilton brand is not worth it. I'm a diamond member with 86+ nights at Hilton in the past year, and I've seen the decline at many Hilton properties, but I can't believe how far this resort has fallen. Why did we come back? We loved the view of Diamond Head from the Rainbow tower and the convenient location on Waikiki beach. While you don't need to leave the village, you are so close to all the dining and shopping and it would be foolish to pay for the mediocre food on site. Yes, it is a very crowded resort, but we knew that and were fine. We also expected the room to be small and perhaps outdated, but we did not expect a dirty room. The walls were stained with chipped and peeling paint. The rug was filthy. You would not dare walk barefoot here. The patio was covered with pigeon poo and virtually unusable. The TV is outdated with no streaming capability, and has a DVD player, thank you very much! Hilton's cost cutting was on display everywhere. While the bed has a sheet to sleep on, there is no top sheet, and you are expected to sleep with the comforter covering your body. Gross and I'm sure the comforters are not cleaned between guests. Pillows and matress old. Towels thread bare. Coffee in the room not replenished. Hilton Gold/Diamond guests are supposed to receive two bottles of water when checking in, not a big deal but here it is. They are no longer given unless you go to the time share desk and do a survey. No thank you. There is no aloha at the front desk when checking in. No acknowledgement or thanking for repeat stays. No upgrades, in fact I have not received a single upgrade at any Hilton during the past year despite numerous stays. Diamond members are supposed to receive upgrades if available, they never are, unless you state you are willing to pay for one. Shame on Hilton. I tried to call guest services and the front desk, but the phones in the room don't work. The line to speak to someone at the front desk would take a half hour to wait. I did complain to the concierge who could barely muster an apology. No Aloha, no service here. Prices are egregious. Hilton has done away with a free breakfast for loyalty members and has done away with all buffets at this resort. See photos of the breakfast menu, breakfast for two will cost you north of $100. Thankfully all the nicer hotels on the beach still do offer luxurious breakfasts at affordable prices. We ended up going to Dukes for a lavish buffet at $25. The lobby there was clean and beautiful and I was questioning why I was staying at the Hilton if I had to walk elsewhere for breakfast. Don't forget the daily resort fee, and parking is now $72-$82 a day, more than double the price of our rental car! This last stay at the Rainbow tower has really soured me on Hilton. I've been loyal to the brand, but this stay has ended it. Cost cutting, dirty and in disrepair, price gouging at every turn. I'll use my points up and explore other options going forward. This stay has totally turned me off to the Hilton brand. If you are considering this hotel, please research and consider other options.
We love the hotel and resort.
.. but this review is to single out Carolyn at the Paradise Pool. She is the most engaging, friendly person. I have personally seen her handle very rude guests with class and ease. They can't possibly be paying her enough! She is a major reason we will come back and stay again!
Fun getaway and relaxing. Very pleasurable.
We stayed for 4 days at the Ali Tower. It was an incredible stay. I loved everything about it. We only left the complex once during our stay. We rented a car from Enterprise and drove to the North Shore and just really enjoyed our stay immensely. The atmosphere was very touristy, obviously and there were people from everywhere. All of the things you would enjoy about Hawaii were at our fingertips and convenient. Most everything around could be booked through the concierge and they handled the details. Perfect stay. Thank you Hilton for a great experience.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Has anyone found a way to get a question answered? From what I can tell there is no way to get in touch with anyone that works at/for AT. Other than the occasional admin posting a consultation offer here and there they are non existent. A lot of people have the same issue I have where we cannot cash out earnings. I cannot get my warning medal removed even though I am under the threshold. Sad to say but seems like AT is holding up everyone’s funds currently. Very scary and makes me wonder….Please reply if you read this admins and can help. Tried every way possible to get in touch

Give the best answerRestaurant Bought/Canceled Their Own Reservation
I accepted a bid for a popular restaurant in Los Angeles only to receive a phone call shortly thereafter informing me that the reservation had been canceled due to it being listed on AT. I of course need to subsequently cancel the reservation on AT but get this warning that my status will be negatively affected for doing so. I've reached out to customer support about this several times with no response, not sure what to do in this station. Hoping someone can advise.

Give the best answerQuestion about postpaid listings for prepaid bookings
I have a prepaid reservation, but I'm allowed to transfer that reservation to others for a price that I set (up to the total price I paid).
For selling POSTPAID reservations, do I charge the buyer the full amount of the reservation when transferring? And then the buyer pays something on top of that (which is what is listed in the AppointmentTrader listing?)
Major Issue for Seller
My money is being held hostage! Can you please remove my refund medal as I am below the 11% threshold and should be able to withdraw my full daily amount now? I have been teying for a long time to get a reply on this. Major issue for people looking to do good/right like you ask and make positive sales. Being able to access earned revenue is critical and not getting any reply is very concerning for your sellers. Lot of other people having the same issue. Once below the threshold you should auto remove the warning medals.

Give the best answerWell through rate holding money for 180 days
Just wanted to put this out there as I find it quite weird. AT will hold money if your sell through rate is to low. I find this strange as you would think that sell through rate should reflect more on AT not marketing their site well enough to generate sales. It seems weird to punish sellers for listings not selling.
