Nice wine bar off Fleet Street.
I loved the decor, under the arches, and even onaFriday night it wasn't that busy which was nice. They have a really large selection of wine, all available by the glass (which is rare), and also other bottles you can buy to bring home but also drink onsite. I wasn't blown away by the food but it was ok still. The staff was lovely and available, and they have big room at the bag which looks like you can hire it for private events.

Great little wine bar hidden off Fleet Street (it's on the same street as City Distillery and another pub so there's a lot of competition). They have a wonderful wine selection with everything available by the glass (guess they have a Coravin?). Food selection is a little heavy so not quite the place to go if you're looking for a lighter option. That said, the grilled octopus and the baked Camembert were both delicious. It was pretty much deserted on a Wednesday evening so a nice place to catch up with a friend and actually hear each other!

This second location for Humble Grape has only been open a few months, but I am delighted that it is near my office and also that it has a great deal on Mondays, where you can drink in at the retail bottle price! I made a booking for Monday at 6:30 PM, but as it is the early days, it turns out that it wasn't really necessary because the incredibly large space was mostly empty and I was told that I could sit pretty much anywhere. There were only a few other groups there throughout the evening. There is a nice corner with a lot of wines by the bottle and the prices were prominently displayed, though the white wines were not refrigerated so it was not clear how those would be served. We were also told that the wines on the menu for "by the glass" could also be bought by the bottle, but we only saw the normal price for the bottle and were told that the retail price would be roughly half of that. Pretty crazy markup for usual standards, but to our benefit on this night! I didn't like that I couldn't actually tell what the price was, but when the bill came we found out that our bottle that normally goes for £52 was approx. £30. I think they should just print a separate menu for Mondays so it is more clear. We also enjoyed a cheese plate and a cured meats plate, which were approx. £7 each. This was a really quiet venue for a catch up but the deal was great and you can easily find bottles for in the £10-20 range, and for what would normally be the price of a glass you could get half a bottle! I hope this succeeds and the lack of business this evening concerns me, but it is also during the European Championships and the summer so maybe it is a seasonal thing. I think it is likely that I will be back!
