We made a reservation for 6 people, but couldn't get seated until 45 minutes or so as they had overbooked. After some insistence, we did get free drinks while we waited at the bar - I don't remember all the names of the cocktails, but the rose lychee seemed to be the most refreshing. The clove/egg white drink had a very milk texture but I got sick of the flavor after a few sips.Rice is $2 a bowl, and you can always order if you need more. Some of the prices on the online menu are also outdated. The standouts to me were the szechuan garlic pork ($12) - very tender and flavorful in a way I hadn't tasted much before and the tea smoke duck, which I have had before but this might be my favorite rendering of it ($18 - full of smoked flavor and tender; it comes with 2 buns). We also got the chengdu cold noodles ($9 - not a must-have, I'd try the dan dan next time), grandma's tofu ($17 - it was just alright too), chungking roast whole fish ($40 - they light a fire under to keep it hot. The fish itself was tender, and I appreciated that they had other things in it like tofu skin, mushroom, peanuts that you can pick at), double-cooked pork ($20 - good, but alright), green beans with ground pork ($16 - I really liked this as a vegetable dish to balance out the meal, and there was plenty of green beans). The chungking roast fish had the highest spice level (4), and while it was indeed spicy, it was not overwhelming at all. I was hoping to get some true heat from at least this one dish. I'm not a 'spice warrior' by any means, but I do like spice, so my two cents are that you shouldn't be too afraid of the spice levels on the menu and order the '3' level dishes if you want to.
