Il Pastaio Beverly Hills Reviews from The Last Year
The food was whatever.
I got some pasta. called Bieber. I guess it's because of the celebrity, but I saw it on somebody else's table. And I thought that was going to be decent, but it was like food for like a 5-year-old kid. If you don't care, you can go ahead and get it. The veil was excellent, and the risotto was very good. The place was small and crowded. The other section was closed.
Great service, great food.
The 2 waiters that did a great job, Filipo and Brian made the experience great.
Cozy Italian corner restaurant.
I love it. Food, service, staff, ambiance, everything is really great.
The food was good the service was good.
The music system was way too loud to the point that it made it very difficult to converse. That was a big negative. It is hard to enjoy the restaurant when the music system is so very loud.

Food is very mediocre not worth spending money on, especially on the price it's at! Very busy, or overcrowded depends how you want to see it. Service is ok. Not a fan of the sidewalk seating with artificial grass flooring and cheap tent like material wouldn't say I feel as though I'm in the illustrious Beverley Hills
Ahhh the love I have for the restaurant for real.
It's always spot on and the food never disappoints. Try it! You won't regret it!

Not good
Not at all worth the hype. Have had much better Italian. Do you guys remember when McDonald’s had pasta? 🤣😵 💫 Seems more like an instagram check in. The food, service & atmosphere are mediocre

Food: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Got here on a Friday afternoon around 730 , no waiting time got sat right away. Our waiter was 10/10 ! Attentive , fast great mannered! Food came out fairly quickly ! I got the farfalle al salmone , great taste with very little tiny pieces of salmon :( Ceaser salad w chicken , really good! Tastes a little like it just came out the fridge but not too bad !
I have been trying to go to Il Pastaio for eons.
For some reason trying to get a reservation here was damn near impossible. Now it's like taking candy from a baby. It's a Beverly Hills hot spot, so I can see why, but the food is also really good so no surprise there. I had the Bucatini pasta but I kind of wish I tried a lighter sauce. It was my first time having Bucatini so I'm not mad about it, it was really good, just a heavier dish than I had expected. We also enjoyed the mussells as an app and these were wonderful. The service is kind and I appreciated the hostess for being accommodating when I had to abruptly shift my reservation. In terms of dining, the inside of the restaurant is where to be - it's classic Italian through and through. Though the outdoor street scene is also an appealing spot as well. Overall, I really had a great time at Il Pastaio and imagine another visit at some point to see how the other pastas are. Yum!
Total disappointment and it has nothing to do with price
One of my worst experience with Italian restaurants. So sorry to write like this, honestly the food has little or nothing to do with Italian food, exception made for Italian names in the menu card. The dry rolls of Eggplants as appetizer (eventually micro waved) were served with some yellow colorful but weird sauce (I couldn’t identify the ingredients) and the rigatoni normally were also some sort of cold and warm pasta (pasta must be served hot and smokey). Wine was served too warm. All over the tomatoes sauce didn’t taste tomatoes and was more a sort of sweet stuff. I have told the waiter that I was so sorry to see so much crowd sitting inside which brought me to the conclusion that either those customers have no idea of Italian food or I have no taste for food. Anyway, this is my point of view that I want to share with the readers and it represents my personal (maybe) wrong expectations for Italian food. One thing is sure in my eyes: I won’t return to this restaurant. Sorry for my disappointment and disagreement with most of the reviews. I don’t recommend it to people wanting to eat Italian or international.
The meal is delicious and the amount of the food is big
The meal is delicious and the amount of the food is big enough compared to the price. Also we love the atmosphere of the restaurant. We'll be back for sure~
Nice, good food, but nothing special.
This is near Rodeo drive, so it's expensive. Food was good, but not exceptional. All 4 teenagers liked their meal and we finished with dessert. Gelato, flourless chocolate cake (skip it, dry and tasteless), tiramisu (try it!). We went on a Friday, early evening and had no issues getting in. We sat on the patio with space heaters, so was comfortable. But the Shades/sides were down, so couldn't people watch. Which was the main reason we decided to eat there. Service was fantastic
Came for the hype
Honestly, came for the hype. I've seen an enormous amount of reviews of this restaurant so finally made our way there to see what it was all about. When we arrived, we checked with a host boost that is literally on the corner. People jammed packed around it waited to be seated. Lots of people hoping to catch a celebrity. We were seated about 1/2 hour after our reservation time. We ordered a few appetizers (arancini, calamari, vegetable chopped salad) which arrived quickly. For dinner, I ordered the angel hair checca, and my husband ordered the "Justin Bieber" which is a wide rigatoni in a pink cream sauce. Service was good, food was very average. As I mentioned, this is a hot spot, so it was loud, and crowded. Food is priced reasonably though.
Waiters were extremely sweet, and the food was delicious.
They even offered a vase for our flowers.
The food here is fantastic and the staff is usually
The food here is fantastic and the staff is usually friendly and helpful. However it's always crowded and noisy, so if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, it might not be the best option. It's the kind of restaurant where people go to "see and be seen," so that's part of the issue, which can be good or bad depending on what you're into. If you like high-quality, authentic Italian food and are in Beverly Hills, it's definitely worth trying at least once.
Came here on a Tuesday night and having to wait for 15 mins
Came here on a Tuesday night and having to wait for 15 mins for a table tell you how popular this place can be! It is a high end Italian restaurant right in the middle of Beverly Hills. Our friend is a regular here so he took care of the ordering. We ordered seafood tomato based soup, lobster linguine, T-bone and Filet mignon, lentils and shrimp salad, and many more. Everything is so delicious and with the right portion so you don't feel stuffed after trying different dishes. The desserts are a must too! The only down side is the waiter forgot our fried calamari but still included in the bill. We caught it and it was not a big deal for us, but he apologized and corrected right away.
Yeh ambiance was off.
Too busy too many people. They seated us very close to the others. Food was good except my lobster was overcooked. The waiter was not inattentive to ask how was the food. They ended up to give me a new lobster. The pasta tasted good tho.
we've been going to il Postaio for years.
mainly because its always consistently great food with equally great service. from the moment we arrive to the time we leave. the staff is always warm and friendly and the crowd is too.
When my friend and I walked up to the host stand to check
When my friend and I walked up to the host stand to check in for our reservation, we were not greeted, we said hello first. After the host told the other host where to seat us, the manager said "oh no go to this table remember the other guests wanted to be inside." we were then sat towards the very back of the worst part of the outdoor patio. we felt pretty judged. when the host sat us, she was holding the drink menu but did not leave it at the table. i had to ask the server for it, as I wanted to order a drink. the server commented and said probably because you look so young. The server was a middle aged lady who treated us like she did not want us to be in her section and we were inconveniencing her. she didnt introduced herself, as she was never at our table for more than 30 seconds at a time throughout the night. when she brought the drink menu over she asked if we were ready to order, not if we had any questions. we started off with the calamari which i liked, it was light and not too battered, but it didn't have much flavor. when she came back, she didn't check if we liked the calamari, she just asked are you ready and we said we were not sure, so she walked away, and did not give us any suggestions or recommendations. we ordered the salad and each got a pasta. the food was good but not worth the terrible service with how uncomfortable we were. The only person who made us feel welcomed was the gentleman who kept our water glasses full. when we received the check, we were charged for bread, which is funny because we were never even offered bread... we would not go back

Pillows of potato perfection -- always the best time and meal here! It is always so busy and lively! We love making a stop here when in LA! Mangia Mangia!
I don't know why such a positive reviews on this
I don't know why such a positive reviews on this establishment is about...maybe the location?? The food was average at best; the portions are small for what you get; the temperature of the food served was lukewarm; the truffle pasta was so thick that it was pasty n the taste was below average; the Arrabiata pasta was the worst i ever had; the mushroom risotto is on par with Trader Joe's frozen mushroom risotto. The ambience was nice was if you're looking for tasty Italian, go elsewhere.
I've dined any many fine dining establishments, and I hate
I've dined any many fine dining establishments, and I hate to say how disappointed I was in this restaurant. The service I received was the worst I have ever received in my life. I have never felt more dissatisfied in a dining experience. I had reservations placed and the hostess was kind. Upon being sat down, our waitress was beyond rude. She came to our table and told us it seems you still aren't finish with the menu with that being said I'm going to take care of my actual customers. I was take off guard to a new extent. After placing our order she hadn't checked in on us once, she wasn't even the one to bring us a check. I had to ask another waitress to bring us the check since she ignored us the entire time. Keep in mind, she was attentive to the other two tables she was waiting on except ours. I asked to speak with the manager and Felix was nice and professional. He offered for us to come back, I declined since that experience put such a sour taste in my mouth.
This is a quintessential tourist trap restaurant.
Food is generally good; front reception polite but the waiters are mostly rude and arrogant. At night they're dressed up with bow tie and suit thinking they're Oscar night hosts. Prices are expensive not to mention side dishes ridiculously minimal and same with pasta portions. Overall horrible service.
Very Entertaining
Located in downtown Beverly Hills Easy parking lots of options. We had a great table outside so we had Continuous entertainment. Beautiful cars ans people Quite the show. As far as the food it was excellent . I have to say i was surprised ! Authentic Italian cuisine No doubt Italian chef or/owner or both. Everything tasted great will definitely go back Service was also on par.
Can't wait to return The salad!!! The pasta!!! Fantastic
Can't wait to return The salad!!! The pasta!!! Fantastic ambience and service YUMMY!!!!!
Amazing Resturant.
Amazing service. Best pasta in Beverly Hills by far. The Farfalle al Salmone was to die for.
Great old school Italian in BH
Food here is insanely good. I had the eggplant parm and spaghetti with meatballs. It was perfect - like some of the best I have ever had I have eaten everywhere. Bread when you sit down is soft, crunchy and olive oil is best in class. We sat outside which I def recommend. Espresso to cap off a great lunch. They could have poured the wine a little more.
Good
Food was good, service was extremely fast and the environment was also nice, but noisy. There were no outstanding issues whatsoever!
There’s better
Unfortunately it’s reputation is a bit excessive. Well located , it was busy, service friendly and efficient but food was at best average. I think you can find better .
Amazing, authentic Italian and great service
Amazing experience as the food was delicious and authentic Italian. A gem in Beverly Hills and deserving of its ratings and reviews. A top hangout for celebrities and A-List guests. The service is amazing and welcoming. Try get an outside table as then you experience the envious glares from Rodeo Dr tourists. The pasta and Lasagne is amazing as is the wines.
Absolutely Delicious!
We ate on the outside patio. Their food was delicious and the service was excellent. The pasta is homemade and has a perfect bite. Absolutely worth the price. It is a little more expensive than some but it is worth it!
