Average dim sum, service could be better
Located on the 3rd floor of ION mall. Terribly impolite welcome - the rude lady at receptionist ordered us to our table. Area of dining divided up into different areas with some private rooms and smaller open areas with a large dining area with glass windows looking to Orchard Boulevard. Had dim sum for Lunch. Variable quality and taste. The octopus tentacle with deep fried was below average- the tentacles was cut into such small pieces and over battered and did not taste of octopus. The fried pasty of prawn in Chong fun was good as was the carrot cake in XO sauce . The bitter gourde with salted egg batter was terrible- we opted for scrapping the batter off so that we could just easy the bitter gorde which was rather bitter. Service was ok- not particularly friendly nor welcoming. For a Michelin star restaurants- food was no different in quality to other good dim sum Places. Avoid the bitter goude dish and staff Could Improve on their service to customers.

We had lunch here before our appointment. The food is delicate and delicious, we enjoyed the piping hot soup and the fried carrot (chinese radish) cake.

Outstanding Chinese food. Perfectly cooked, well presented. Attentive service . Dining delight. Excellent quality abalone braised to perfection
Be the first to ReplyDo not go! Poor service and horrible food.
Food such as omelette, hor fun and prawn balls which are chef's recommendation tasted really horrid. I bit onto crab shell when eating the omelette, hor fun was inconsistent. Lard used were either not crispy and stale or too hard.Prawn ball fishy and not fresh. Manager brushed off our feedback, he was defensive and made us feel slided.

We had a nice table by overlooking the street so was conducive for a business dinner. The soup is exquisite. Service is very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the Iberico pork was too chewy for my liking. The dessert is also worth a look as very signature Teochew style.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and service
Tucked away in a corner, this restaurant serves good food with great service. We were seated in spacious Private room, and their dishes were speedily served. Their steamed fish was over cooked, crab claws good but extremely troublesome to eat. Smoked chicken was very unique, their sharks fin soup good, and we were impressed with their very good sea cucumber dish.
Be the first to ReplyNothing “fine” about this place
The worst Chinese meal we have ever had! Crab rolls rubbery and tasteless ($60!). Fish- no coral trout or turbot which was on menu (“too big”) : recommended Primfot fish was tasteless. They charged for the hand swipes $0.30 each! Service casual and unfriendly. Given a room in back (not in bigger room with view). Then added service charge 10% without asking. toilet outside. Food nothing like the pictures.
Be the first to ReplyGood but not blown away
We had dinner on a weekday and it was pretty packed. Nice ambience and attentive service. If you’re a group of 2-4 persons, go for the rectangular tables next to the wall as they offer more privacy and quiet. Perhaps we didn’t order the right dishes (some weren’t available as we were in second seating), but I wasn’t blown away. Still, it’s above average food obviously. I remembered liking the fish maw soup and the smoked chicken. We didn’t enjoy their version of the oyster omelette. Not sure if I’ll return given the price point.
Be the first to ReplyFine indeed
Been here many times. We usually order the salted radish omelette, smoked chicken, squid balls, fried rice with yam. The food is very good - you can smell and taste the fragrant smoke from the chicken, squid balls are large Good service as well Expensive though

Haven’t been back for a while. We ordered our favourite dishes - marinated goose and octopus, prawn balls, oyster omelette, beef cube with black pepper and onions and yam paste for dessert. All these were great. Better book in advance. Will be back again.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my worse experience in a restaurant
Extremely disappointing experience. Everything we ordered was unavailable and it was only informed to us one by one after waiting for up to an hour. There were a few dishes which were also not informed to us of the unavailability and we only got to know about it when we asked the waiting staff numerous times.
Be the first to ReplyGreat tasting Teochew meal
Had early lunch and preordered their cold crab and baby suckling pig. The crab was excellent so as the suckling pig. Ordered their cold dish platter consisting the octopus, dark meat, stomach and tofu. Their Teochew style fish( moby) was steamed to perfection. The fish maw with mustard green was a good dish as well. Overall the food was good tasting. Service was excellent despite the crowd at the restaurant. Price is also steep!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding dumplings. Great service. Must go.
Great service and assistance. Best dumplings ever. Very broad choice of dumplings and main courses. Service made in a very timely way. Very high standard overall for a reasonable price. Do not leave without finishing your meal with the longevity buns !

Our first time here despite coming to Ion a hundred times. Agree with previous reviewer that the lady at the front is curt. But the service inside is very good to great. The food too is very good. The smoked chicken was really smoked Very good overall
Be the first to ReplyService really needs to improve
Food is good but pity the service is very patchy, staff not well trained. 1. When I called to make a reservation I was told ‘you have to return the table in 1h 15 mins’. Seriously, for a so-called Michelin starred restaurant? On top of that the food came slowly and we ended up waiting 30 mins for dessert which we had to cancel in the end. 2. Front of house hostess is really inexperienced and rough in her manners. Rushed us in and complained about my guests who had arrived earlier. 3. Waitress pours water with the jug touching our glasses, and when I mentioned she needs to be careful not to do that she replied loudly ‘don’t worry we all get our shots every week!’ And rushes off - whatever that means! Not sure I’ll be back in a hurry. Many good Chinese/Teochew restaurants around where they understand service better.

Haven’t been back for a while. We ordered our favourite dishes - marinated goose and octopus, prawn balls, oyster omelette, beef cube with black pepper and onions and pig stomach soup. All these were great. We also ordered a vegetable dish but somehow the taste was bland. We told the captain who offered other vege alternatives. In the end we just cancelled this order. Will be back again.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding service
I am not a huge fan of Teochew cuisine. Since it moved from Takashimaya to ION Orchard, the menu is definitely more Teochew, the décor is more elegant, and prices have gone up. What has remained first-class is the service - impeccable! Food wise, I prefer the ImpTreas Super Peking Duck at Paragon, but this still provides a very satisfying experience.
