Saw this place on Yelp and we headed straight there. It's a relaxed affair, so despite the Michelin recommendation it's not super posh. It had the atmosphere of any other lively curry house. It's also fairly small, so it was quite noisy when we were in (there were a number of large groups)We ordered the chicken Makhani and chicken Jalfrezi and we were not disappointed! I usually can't finish a whole curry in one sitting but I wolfed the whole lot down. Portion size was about right. Genuinely one of the best curries I've ever had. Additionally I'm gluten free and they had many options for my dietary needs. I had the pistachio ice cream for dessert, which was very nice indeed, if a little overpriced at £7 for two scoops. If we're in the area again then we'll definitely go back.

Be the first to ReplyThe fish curry was perfect and the service impeccable.
My only complaint was that my sour was too sweet. That's barely a complaint at all.

Came here once with months ago and gave a glowing review based on food, service and ambiance. Thrilled to say that the second time around was even better than the first. Pork Vindaloo was spicy enough to be called spicy yet so perfectly cooked that all the spices and flavors came through. Rice perfectly cooked, garlic naan outstanding. This time I was alone (large group last time) and early 5:30 (vs 7:30) and the staff was equally attentive. If you want great Indian food please start here!

Excellent!I've been here twice and both times I haven't been disappointed. This restaurant always greets you with a small soup shot (flavor changes daily). The first time it was Pumpkin Coconut and the second time was Coriander Cauliflower. Both were absolutely delicious. For dinner, I actually didn't order off the menu. I asked if they could make Chicken Tikka Masala and they immediately said yes. I ordered that with garlic naan. My friend always orders the Banana flower and loves it. The food here is excellent. Great portions and tastes so so good. The cocktails are great as well. I've order their Indian sour before and loved it. I will be back here a million more times!!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best Indian restaurants I've been to.
The papadums with 3 sauces are great, the vegetable samosas are excellent, and everything we tried was extraordinary. Fantastic service, and the gulab jamum dessert was also top notch.

It was our last night in London and we knew we wanted curry. I did some research and found Indian Zing. I had dined at Tayyabs in the past and it wasn't in the area we needed it to be. We are so happy to have found this spot -- no doubt it's a gem as the locals know it well. It's a smallish restaurant with a very attentive, pleasant staff. White linen table cloths -- slightly dressy, not really all that casual. At 7:30pm on Friday, there were just a few other parties dining, however by the time we left, the place was packed with large parties and the restaurant fully booked for the evening. Reservations are a must on the weekend nights. OpenTable is your friend. We started with Papadam with relish, raita, and chutney which was good; pretty standard stuff. From there, the bar rose promptly...Zing's Prawn Lonche is worth trying. The serving is very small -- even for two people, but the presentation was beautiful and the flavors were intense. The pickle and the eggplant rounded out the dish. The Malabar Chicken Curry was my favorite. The heat and the sweetness from this beautiful curry dish was unlike any curry I'd even have. The brightness of the fresh herbs on top was lovely. We also had the Lamb Dhansak (essentially Saag) which was also really nice. Spiced Spinach with fenugreek and dill leaves and basmati rounded out the meal. The "by the glass" wine list is short, but they have some nice bottles and beers.Great friendly service, excellent fare. Locals seek this place out -- definitely worth the price tag and worth seeking out. We will be back next time we're in London.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely among the best Indian places I have eaten.
I had the appetizer platter along with fish curry items.

I guess I was lucky to have stayed in the hotel cross street during my short trip to London.Felt sudden hunger after 9PM, then went for this Michelin recommended restaurant for late dinner. Yes Michelin recommended and they did not lie about it.Decoration was nice, polite staff. Food was fantastic. What surprised me was the sauce came with it. It tasted fruity sweet and spicy - great aid for appetite. Will visit again if ever I have a chance.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for anniversary celebration before.
The taste and service are very good, but the price is a little bit higher than average, might find better deals around the areas.
