Be the first to ReplyCan't wait to go back
We went on a Monday night with a reservation. Service was very quick, and the food delicious. 5 out of 5 and can't wait to go again and bring the rest of the family. We got the prawn fiesta platter between 2 people, which was quite indulgent but managed to finish with happy tummies
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing service for families.
Absolutely awful and disappointing service. We went as a family of 6 people and ordered some platters amongst other things. We were told that only one crab picker and one crab claw cracker are provided per table! It was ridiculous. How is anyone supposed to enjoy a meal together when we are waiting around for each person to use the tools! Moreover we had a child and ordered chips. When they arrived they had red salt on them. It does not state anywhere that there is red salt on the chips as standard and when we asked if they could change them for a portion without salt….the staff refused even for a baby and asked us to purchase another portion. We already had a lot of chips on the table and didn’t want or need anymore. They are not accommodating at all. I’m not sure what kind of training the staff receive. But we left early without dessert and will not be returning. We often visit the branch in Leicester. It is a franchise and the Leicester staff are so much more accommodating, especially towards young families. Very disappointed.

Loved it.... always wanted a broil.... so this was the place... the crab was a bit of nothingness... small with no meat... but the rest was full of flavour and filling.
Be the first to ReplyFood is alright, but the service is awful

Be the first to ReplyHorrible experience
Horrible experience, we basically got kick out while we were eating cause they had to close the restaurant, even if the restaurant was supposed close 1h after

Be the first to ReplyVery Rude Manager
We've been frequenting this place for years, in fact my business partner and I used to come every Sunday for a long time. Our experience this time was extremely poor. All due to the manager who was clearly struggling, even though it didn't seem busy. We booked over the phone for five, or at least we tried, but was told to 'just come in' (presumably as they weren't busy). When we arrived the manager never greeted us or even spoke to us (or even looked at us!) , she tried very hard to avoid talking to anyone in reception. 15 minutes later we were seated. Not too bad. Until we were seated, that is. We spent around £70 per head, almost £350 bill for the five of us but we were mistreated by the manager several times. For the first time ever at JKP we were asked how we would like our lamb chops, the options were 'medium' or 'well done' (although the server offered us 'medium well' the manager said only 'medium' and 'well done' were the options. Normally we never had to make the decision they have always been cooked perfectly - medium, slightly pink. When my portion arrived (we love them that much we ordered 6 portions) they were severely undercooked, one lamb chop was significantly raw in most places. I politely told the waitress, she walked off with no remorse. Some time later the manager came and argued with me that that was how the lamb chops are cooked. I explained to her that I was a regular customer and that the lamb chops were undercooked, one was definitely mostly raw inside. Her answer was "lamb chops cannot be raw" - an absurd thing to say but quite embarrassing too, as she continued to demean me in front of my table. I had a second portion coming with the main and (walked to the reception area to not embarrass myself further) politely asking the manager to change to 'well done' as I seemed to have no option between 'not cooked' and 'overly done'. She continued to tell me "that's how they are cooked" - I've had JKP lamb chops at least 60 times. When they came they were literally burnt to a crisp, they had been cooked for so long that they were totally black and half the size. It was terrible. I wouldn't mind if I hadn't paid £70 per head. It was more the argument that the manager had with me (I own restaurants and certainly know how lamb chops should be cooked), it was truly embarrassing, not just for me but for her and those on my table. We were made to feel very uncomfortable about complaining and it ruined my friend's birthday meal. I hate complaining. But this was terrible. Made ten times worse by the attitude of the manager that night. Not only that, but my friend was made to wait 26 minutes for a sprite and actually finished his main meal before it came. Every time we asked the manager she was rude and gave us so many random disingenuous answers, never showing remorse once. I honestly don't know why. It actually upset my friend, but we tried to nervously laugh it off. The manager, being the manager, could he just facilitated the glass of soft drink but clearly didn't want to "it will arrive when it will arrive, the bar is busy" - it was the quietest we've ever seen JKP and we've visited countless times. I don't know what happened on this visit but the service was truly dreadful. We recognise the manager has been the same for a long time and she is usually quite good but our visit this time really ruined my friend's birthday. At almost £350 for five people I wouldn't bring a birthday here again. Especially as we had travelled for more than an hour each way. Please JKP if you're reading this, sort the lamb chops out again. They were always cooked to perfection EVERY SINGLE TIME we dined, this time it was really bad. And the random rude replies the manager said to me (and other guests on my table) were, to be honest, truly embarrassing. Telling us all "lamb chops cannot be raw" amongst other absurd remarks was probably the most random thing any manager of any restaurant has ever said to me. If my restaurant manager had said that to one of our customers, I would probably have needed to apologise or explain the situation too. Normally 10/10.this visit was 2/10 at best.

It was my first time trying this restaurant and I’m glad I did!!! They have the best prawns in town I would 100% recommend this restaurant because the food is delicious also the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. I went with my friends and we couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was. Also we was served by the beautiful, sweet and funny lady called LUCY she was the best honestly! She gave me good recommendations as it was my first time visiting I wasn’t sure what to order. Lucy delivered an excellent service which has helped our experience to be unique and remarkable.

We order the Millionaires platter and the sofe drink jug, the Lobster looks quite big but there is not much meat can eat. The small prawn were not very fresh (Personal feeling) It's ok place for families and friends hang out, but not sure will revisit.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Prawns and Service - Overpriced drinks and no tap water.
Excellent Prawns! Rice was a bit wet but manageable. Service was fantastic - Our Waiter, Daniel was awesome! Efficient, polite and made some super recommendations! Drinks - Massive problem with the price…There’s just no need. Other restaurants we visit offer free tea…I’m sure they absorb it as a small cost of doing business. You’re almost there - Give tap water at the very least!
Be the first to ReplyPricey mid tier seafood experience
Couples dinner on Valentine's Day, they did put effort into the decor. Didn't like being told they do not serve tap water alongside our mocktails. Paid £1.50 for a large plastic bottle of water. The mussels were chewy. Felt life they may have been over cooked or recooked. The prawns were fresh and came off the shell easily. Asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, which it was, which was good. The garlic butter and lemon butter sauce were humble but enriching condiments. The Jimmy's own brand sauce was forgettable. Some kind of salsa? Overall, a good meal, big portions, but felt the price tag didn't match the experience.
Be the first to ReplyPoor quality food and overpriced!
Very disappointed found the food quite bland all my dishes were slightly warm the gratineed mushrooms had very little flavour and slightly warm then the santorini queens again slightly warm and overcooked on a huge bed of rice which again was not very appetising covered in sauce and feta. Large portions but poor quality and overpriced. No alcohol no tap water you have to buy a bottle 1.5 Litres of Volvic. Service was quite relaxed not very attentive. Gave dessert a miss which I never normally do . Would not recommend and definitely will not return.
Be the first to ReplyIncorrect Order
Made a order for pick up for spicy prawns - received a very spicy order. Rang up to complain and this was completely replaced. Did take alot of back and forth to sort out but I did appreciate the manager sorting it out. It was also a very busy Saturday night. Thank you
Be the first to ReplyNo Tap Water!!!
They won’t serve tap water - only bottled water. £6.50 for four prawns! Very plain food, very overpriced! Not bad if you don’t drink and like bland food. The exception is the extra spicy sauce, which is not extra spicy, but at least has some flavour. The service is very slow. We’d been sat down for half an hour before being asked if we’d like a drink. The staff are miserable. Not one smile amongst them and absolutely no training in customer service.
Be the first to ReplyFake advertising Jimmy prawns Manchester
They advertise as grilled seafood but is actually fried. That change the flavour and texture of the food. Crab isn’t tasty and the texture is awful almost like a purée. Seafood lovers know the texture of crabs. Staff is rude. I didn’t felt welcomed. Not again.

Be the first to ReplyBeautiful food
Went here on two visits during our stay at the nearby avlida hotel. Staff were efficient and friendly and the food was really great. (go on tues where unlimited prawns are 19.5 euros) Had this on tues and jimmys sizzler which are surf and turf. Both visits were excellent and would really recommend if you like steak or prawns. Thank you jimmys staff will deffo call again xx
Be the first to ReplyVery tasty meal out for seafood lovers.
It's not, Michellin. There's no alcohol but great mocktails. If you like prawns this is for you. Plate of 18 good sized prawns with a wonderful sauce and rice on the side. Once you have peeled your prawns, get the rice on the plate to soak up the sauce. Plastic gloves provided and a bucket, so you can peel your gorgeous prawns without getting sticky fingers. It's an experience in itself. Didn't have a dessert as we couldn't manage one. If we get back to Manchester we will be back. Great service and a laugh with Nicholas. We'll hope to see you again mate.

The service at this place was awful. Placed at the table whilst the server didn’t even say a word. Placed the menu on the table we were going on and just walked off. We ordered sauce with our food and when the food came it didn’t have the sauce. they said they forgot about the sauce which then took 15 minutes too come which by this time we had nearly eaten our food because we didn’t want it to go cold. It wasn’t even that busy but took use a long time to order drinks because we couldn’t get any waitress attention even with us saying ‘excuse me’ when several waitresses walked past they just walked on and didn’t even look at us. A waste of time and money coming to this place for my birthday meal wish I went somewhere else. When we asked for the bill it was the same as when we came and the waitress didn’t even speak to us. Wouldn’t recommend
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant, would highly recommend
The meal was fab. Started with mussels with tomato and chilli and mussels and garlic which was lovely, moved on to 50 prawns sharer with chips and extra onion rings, went for spicy and wasn't too spicy, just right. Was very full at the end, no room for dessert. The waiter was brilliant, attentive in a very relaxed way, just perfect. Cant wait to go again and highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplySomethings Changed - terrible
We’ve come here many times - so happy that our South African faviroute was in the UK and the same. Sadly came back for my birthday and they were terrible, no flavour at all. We queried this and we’re told they’d given us the wrong platter - then proceeded to bring back the same but now over cooked rubbery prawns - we just paid and left but definitely won’t be returning. Did try contacting the restaurant directly prior to writing a review to ask if they’ve changed the recipe as it’s NOT jimmys anymore just an overpriced under flavoured seafood restaurant now. Sadly no reply from them so we won’t be returning knowing they’re no longer actually jimmys prawns! Wasn’t just us as the lady behind us asked to speak to the manager as we were leaving stating the same; the prawns were not flavoured at all the same as normal.
