Joe's is a great place to have a taste of authentic New York Pizza. It has a variety of pizzas, each unique from the standard pepperoni and cheese (and they have that too!) Its bottom has the perfect amount of crunch while the top is melted to perfection giving a smooth, gooey texture. I must thank this place for kick starting my journey in New York!

Of course everyone in NY has heard of Joe's Pizza, so I was pretty excited to finally try the pizza here. I got a slice of the original cheese pizza as well as pepperoni. Both were tasty, and I especially enjoyed how crispy the slices were. However, this wasn't my favorite slice of pizza within a 1-2 block radius. Also note this place is cash only.
Be the first to ReplyBest pizza in NY.
Yea, I said it. The slice, the sauce, the cheese. I can eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No fuss, or bs, it's the best slice in the city.

Nice traditional NYC slice, original Joe's! Got the plain and pepperoni, $9 cash only. Really great classic slice , nice balance. There's always a line but moves quick, staff is very friendly!
Be the first to ReplyHands down the best NY slice.
Right out of the oven is when it's best. Stand up or find a stool. Top it off with garlic, parm and oregano. It's pure heaven. Nothing beats this for a NY slice. Nothing.
Be the first to ReplyPizza came out burnt.
I wouldn't even pay $3 for this slice WITHOUT the line, let alone a $5 slice with a 30 minute wait. It's worth the experience of saying you got pizza at Joe's but isn't worth the actual food itself even if it was half off.

I decided to go with a classic cheese pizza and I was not disappointed. The slice was hot, with the perfect amount of cheese and a crispy crust. It was clear that the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. I could taste the difference in every bite. What impressed me the most about Joe's Pizza was the prices. In a city where everything seems to be overpriced, Joe's offers decent prices for their delicious pizzas. It was refreshing to find a place that didn't break the bank. As I sat down to enjoy my slice, I couldn't help but notice how busy the place was. It was a bustling atmosphere with people from all walks of life coming in and out to grab a slice. This added to the charm of the place and made it clear that this was a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
Be the first to ReplyGood place for late night bite.
The store was way too crowded and loud, and I didn't really like the pizza that I got either. This was at the West Village location, so other locations might be better though.
Be the first to ReplyI gave up pizza as a healthy choice years ago.
I indulge from time to time. During a weekend tourists' trip, my wife and I sampled Joe's Pizza based on the glowing comments and hallowed reputation. It's well earned. We each had a slice and a soda - man.......is it the New York water? The sauce? The cheese? Damned if I know. But go to Joe's, it's more than pizza, it's an experience.
Be the first to ReplyI would say.
..especially for NYC/Manhattan, there are so many pizza joints that it's hard to make "cheap pizza" amazing. You definitely get what you pay for with Joe's. It used to be "$1" but long gone are the days pre-inflation. However for the current price, it's definitely worth the "cheap pizza" serving. PROS: - great great portion given price - good amount of ingredients given price: sure you're not going to get the most generous portion of cheese for that instagram cheese pull, but it will do for a NYC slice. CONS: - lines. It's cheap ok? -- it's in W. Village or almost near a spot where there are a lot of college students or bars for drunkards to eat at post alcoholic consumption. You're going to have to wait in something of a line. - comes out warm as its reheated, but so are a few other places so take what you can get? I'd say it's worth trying for that typical "NYC slice" but there are SO many other pizza places in NYC that are much better for a little bit more money. Again, cost efficiency wise, this is the spot!

Be the first to ReplyVery good slice.
But wish they'd get rid of the bums. Your customers don't enjoy being panhandled by homeless people inside the restaurant. Show us some respect.

Delicious!! We went at an ungodly hour so didn't have to wait at all + service was quick. We got the pepperoni and margarita slices. The pepperoni was the perfect cheesy late night snack. And omg the tomatoes on the margarita were soo juicy and plump (would recommend for tomato lovers), matches perfectly with the basil and cheese sitting on top. I'd say the margarita was one of my favorite pizzas ever. It's a cute little place where you can sit down (if it's not packed) and look at some photos of celebrities that's been before. Would 10/10 go back again, but not something I would wait in line for!

We ordered a supreme pizza for takeout and yum! Pizza had a nice toast and char to it. Mushrooms were cooked well and the variety of meats were perfection. Will definitely come back to try other varieties of pizza.
Be the first to ReplyThe greatest pizza slice you will ever.
Makes all other pizzas pale in comparison. Thin, perfect ratio of cheese to sauce. Just the perfect pizza.
Be the first to ReplyWent at about 8 on a Saturday night and the line was short.
Not a lot of space inside because it was packed. Ended up standing outside to eat, not complaining, just noting. Cash only. Got a pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, and a cheese. It was a good pizza, but that's as far as I'd take it. The crust wasn't one I'd finish. Just a good and simple slice.
Be the first to ReplyThe flavor says it all.
But don't be fooled by getting the pepperoni. The original is the Italian sausage. It's Italian when the sausage is made with roasted, crushed fennel seeds. Those seeds are added to the other meat and then put into the casing. That flavor is the Italian way...more than the pepperoni. I think its more costly to do Italian sausage the Italian way.
Be the first to ReplyFinally trying Joe's Pizza after visiting NY multiple times.
We had drinks with friends and wanted drunchies on the walk home. Joe's Pizza was pretty packed at around 9-10pm. The line actually moved fast for those ordering single slices only. We opted for an entire mozzarella pizza to-go. I liked the thin crust because there's not too much dough. It was also just the right amount of cheesy. I should've sprinkled more of the garlic powder on the pizza. It tasted super garlicky.Note: Cash only!
Be the first to ReplyGreat pizza.
Some of the best in the city (possibly my favorite) however the limited seating in the restaurant was very dirty and the homeless man outside the restaurant was disruptive and quite rude (not the pizza parlors fault) hoping for a better experience next time around

I'm saddened by the fact that this was my first taste of NY style pizza in New York......Ordered three slices and only one of them was even edible. The pepperoni got thrown away before it was finished and the Sicilian was right behind it. At least I was able to swallow the bite of the pepperoni one. I can't say the same for the Sicilian. If you're new to the area or just visiting. Do yourself a favor and walk past this place.

Cheap eats of NYC $5 for a huge slice of pizza Fresh mozz, pretty big, okay crust. Needs more sauce.I was walking around and grabbed a quick slice.

Took friends to Joe's and hyped it up all weekend long - and it was a major let down.We love Joe's but typically go to the 14th St location. We tried this one fresh out of the oven but it had way too much cheese and no crispy crunchy crust. The only saving factor from being a complete disappointment, was Emily Ratajkowski was in line with us PS - We did make it to another Joe's location at Fulton St where it was perfect!
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely a good place to start on our journey in New York
Definitely a good place to start on our journey in New York as Joe's Pizza is one of the classic NY pizza joints. Crispy chewy and cheesy this pizza does all the basics well but overall didn't wow me or do anything above and beyond. This being my first stop in NYC, it's a good starting slice of pizza to try and worth checking out due to its history and fame. It's a small shop with a few standing tables to eat at. Cash only and each slice is around $4.

I expected a lot from this slice of pizza, given all of the hype I've heard about Joes and the countless celebrity photos they have on the walls of their store. And I will say, it did not disappoint. The dough was thin, and had a really impressive crunch in each bite. The sauce had a nice tang, but I wish their was more of it, which is just my personal preference.
