A special dinner
I've been there last week with a friend. It has been a really nice surprise. It was our first time there and cousine was fantastic!A great experience! They definitely deserve a Michelan star. The dishes were delicious. We really appreciate.

We went for the most extended tasting menu hoping to taste as much of the magic as possible. And the first five dishes were really quite good and inventive, really enjoyable overall, say 8-8.5/10. Unfortunately the last three: cheese plate and two desserts were very blah, probably 5/10 (well, manga lassi based one was better, say 6.5/10). And the parting sweets were also pretty sad. It is unfortunate that the sweet portion of the meal left sour taste in our mouth. And my main motivation for writing this review is my hope that the chef will make some changes to make the whole experience as wondeeful as the savory dishes.

Not worth to try it, definitely not 1* Michelin. The service was quite poor, waiters exchanged during service, not all bad, but one particularly tired of working did a very poor job. Cherry on top you could hear him talking bad about clients or how happy he was to finish the shift as he was printing the receipts. Highly unprofessional. Food really really average. I haven’t had any remarkable dish or taste, and also the ingredients used seemed flat. Only positive note is we drank a good champagne edition of VC, and the waiter ( unfortunately he stayed not very long) did an amazing job at explaining its story. Recommendation: I really wanted to try this place and did not care about all the negative reviews I read. I did a mistake, should have not tried and saved time and money.
Be the first to ReplyVegetarian or not - this place is 100% worth the visit
A place which is incredible whether or not you are a vegetarian (I’m not). This isn’t a standard ‘good’ vegetarian place but rather one where the chef has gone to huge lengths, with a number of genuine experiences and inspirations to create captivating dishes. Go for the 8 course tasting menu…it’s worth it. As a side note the service is extremely warm and friendly whilst the Japanese-esque minimalist interior is tasteful and unpretentious. They were also extremely accommodating to our small dog and offered him water unprompted…always a plus in my book!

the challenge was: would a young man addicted to mcDonald's appreciate Pietro Leemann' cousine? The answer is yes... usual good service, no waiting time and a very nice dish, "piatto quadro".
Be the first to ReplySurprising, innovative plant-based experience!
The vegetarian Michelin star experience. #WOW Welcome entrée: edible bonsai of Mustard sprouts in miso emulsion! Roasted Watermelon carpaccio with a balsamic vinegar reduction Japanese-stile aubergine Martin, plum and ginger emulsion, almond and chive quark. Thai-style gazpacho, with peas and lemon peel cream, strawberries, and macadamia walnuts. Panzanella with crunchy vegetables, core of cannellini beans with wasabi, saffron, and raspberry contrast. “Paglia and fieno” noodle with Maghreb sauce, clarified bouillon with Andalusian aroma. Homemade braised tempeh, ribbed tomato, raw and confit, grilled flat bean and yellow courgettes, basil pesto and cherry wood smoke. Gianduja egg, millet biscuit, seeds and chocolate, coconut and wild berries froth, coffee sauce. Final #WOW effect: Cherries, peach, elderberry, buckwheat crumble with Chantilly cream on the tunes of the Gong! The restaurant only offers set menus, we opted for Zenit - 8 courses menu and it was Fun! The only thing, in my opinion, they can add is a hot dish. All the courses were served cold, unfortunately. But still very delish;)

This was probably the best meal we had in Milan. From the amuse bouche - a carrot stuck in a little flower pot that had been filled with a vegetable pudding and covered with a 'dirt' of ground seeds - to the 3 desserts, this was a delicious and memorable meal. I particularly liked the artichoke heart and the vegan "noie gras" that was delicious and had the exact texture of fois gras. some of the dishes were merely good and a few were amazing. worth a visit for sure, even at the steep prices of a michelin starred restaurant.
the setting is quiet, intimate. The staff were great.
vegetarian but you can forget this detail: usual "pro" level.
We went back on 5th Feb to anticipate s.Valentine skipping all that mess.
Last time we were there was before lockdown.
At Joia we usually expect care and attention for the hosts, smart people in the room,
and a huge choice of wines, and, of course, an healthy and good food.
We did find those all fulfilled, and we had a pleasant dinner.
About wines, as usual Antonio made is job brilliantlyl: we drank 2 different wines, a bit far form usual circuits.
Vegetarian food was, as usual, cared and tasty, and, in my opinion, vegetarian "Foie gras" is a smart idea, even if is not equal to the "meat" counterpart.
II ranking for vegetarian stick: you may forget the meat stick.
If someone says vegetables are not good and tasty, Joia can change his mind.
