Good Food but Inconsistent Experience
My wife and I had dinner here. We arrived and found an empty reception stand. After a few minutes someone showed up who put us on an elevator to the 2nd floor where the restaurant is located. We were taken to a table that had a chair and a rounded couch for seating. I sat in the chair as I prefer to sit in a chair and also prefer to sit across from my wife, not next to her. The woman server who seated seated us made me move and wouldn’t let me sit in the chair. I found that very irritating. Why have a chair at the table if you can’t sit in it? Am I paying them or are they paying me? Not a good start to the evening. They offered a set menu with supplements. The standard menu was pretty reasonable at approximately $200 USD. The supplements started at $60 and some doubled the cost of the dinner. They also offered pricey wine pairings (5 glass or 9 glass). We opted for the standard menu plus a bottle of wine. Overall, I would say that the food was very good. None of the dishes were bad and a few were outstanding. The desserts, in particular, were great, Aside from the woman who moved me from the chair, the service was pretty good. The woman server who had lived in California was very good and spoke excellent English. We had some difficulty understanding the other servers. The bathrooms are located on the third floor and are not well maintained. I walked in to 2 different bathrooms in which the toilets had not been flushed. Pretty disappointing for a 2 star restaurant. I liked the food but was pretty disappointed with other aspects of our visit. It definitely was not a 2 star experience for us.

It's nice to find special people. I'm satisfied every time I go... It's a good place to go when you want to gift special Korean food to foreign friends. There are more people visiting at the end of the year, so it may be difficult to make a reservation. Make a reservation in advance and use it~

I had an excellent lunch at Jungsik restaurant. The set menu had 8 courses, and all of the dishes were cooked perfectly. Their amuse bouche and gimbap were stand out to me. I had an opportunity to taste different textures throug five small bites in the amuse bouche set. Each bites had a distinct flavor, such as earthy or sweet. The gimbap was crispy at the outside and soft inside. Combined with the soft rice, the gimbap had a complex layer of flavors. However, I think "New York - Seoul" dessert could be a little bit better by increase the bitterness of chocolate. I found it too sweet for me. Additionally, I love the way tables were arranged. Tables were not so close together, which created a private space for each diner. But overall, I love this high-end Korean food that Jungsik offered.

Great spot for a nice meal - the vegetarian menu was amazing. The carrot cake was probably the best dessert I have ever had.
Be the first to ReplyFine dining, simply amazing
Service was impeccable, we were greeted warmly and despite being early the table was ready. We booked roughly one month in advance via CatchTable app that is common in Korea. You have to pay the set meal course price in advance but we didn't mind. Every course was delicious and we'll presented, and we ordered a bottle of red wine with it (not the recommended pairing). Spend around 3 hours at Jungsik and enjoyed every minute of it. Seafood dishes were excellent and the truffle wagyu meat course only one of the highlights. An amazing experience

Our meal was outstanding! The tastes throughout the various courses were sophisticated. The service was impeccable. The gluten free alternatives were also tasty. This was the perfect way to end our monthlong trip!

An excellent michelin modern korean restaurant. Only 1 set menu with some supplements. The slight disappintment was 2/5 supplments already sold out at 630pm Almost every dish was very good to excellent , with great presentation. The gimbap supplement we ordered was very similar to the gimbap in the menu, which shouldn’t be the case Interesting korean teas ended the meal Very good service throughout
Be the first to ReplyA culinary voyage that blended Korean tradition with contemporary innovation
Dining at Jungsik in Seoul was a culinary voyage that blended Korean tradition with contemporary innovation. The restaurant’s dedication to reinventing Korean cuisine was evident in every meticulously crafted dish. The tasting menu was a symphony of flavors and textures, each plate presented as a work of art. The ambiance, with its sleek and modern design, created an elegant atmosphere for savoring each bite. The staff’s knowledge of the menu and their passion for Korean gastronomy added to the overall delight. Jungsik is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Korean culinary heritage, a testament to Chef Jungsik Yim’s talent, and a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience in Seoul.

Very Impressed with all the circumstance. Meal is great, services are wonderful. Also, the price is reasonable. Definitely will be back again when I visit seoul.

Value for money you paid. Post Covid experience was impeccable. Great service, cuisines combining local produce and French fusion. Think the chef is really talented. The taste of every dish stands out. Small comment that it’s a bit too much sugar for 1-2 dishes for non Koreas , without which the taste may no longer be the same of course.

Everything I experienced at Jungsik was great! Online reservation was simple and straightforward, even for foreigners like myself. The service staff did their best to explain the food and tried their best to make sure I had a comfortable time. The lunch set was well valued and exquisitely executed. Every single dish had such unique flavours and great variety of food (never knew such flavours could exist). Simply the best and I am happy to say that it won't be the last, will definitely be back!

Quite simply the best dinner we had in Korea. The cuisson on each of the 8 course Dinner Tasting Menu is creative, refined and elevates the Korean produce to the next level, my personal standouts are the pressure cooked locally sourced abalone with beurre blanc sauce and green oil, the bo-yang and branzino. Each course was presented like an art piece that would make Michelangelo proud. Making the dinner experience perfect is their Sommelier whose wine pairings complement each course in absolute harmony. This night at Jungsik will forever be etched in our memories.

Flavours of each creative dish with traditional Korean ingredients are amazingly tasty and impressive at this two-Michelin starred restaurant. Overall peaceful ambience and stellar service by the wait staff.
Be the first to ReplyGreat meal - go for the beef and dessert !
Wow! Great meal with Korean fusion food . The service and food was great. Totally deserving it’s 2 star Michelin rating . The quality of the food is top notch . If there is an advise, go for lunch rather than dinner for similar food but lower price . Very hard to book and need to book a month in advance to get a place especially on weekends .

Third time here and loved it this time. The first time I was blown away and sadly the second time was just okay, but that was 3-4 years ago. Came here for dinner with my wife this time and it was exceptional. Enjoyed the food, style and presentation very much. Wine list is very complete.

My first ever michelin restaurant in korea, and I can say the standard is there! The food was creative and modern, all seasoned the confort.
Appetizers had a distintive flavour and an introduction to korean cuisine.
The service was superb.
My favorite dish was the uni seaweed roll followed by the royal bimbinbap.
Spend a lovelt birthday here
Easy to find location and confortable.
Excellent restaurant
We booked for the lunch and had the chef’s degustation. The food is Korean contemporary - it was innovative, delicious, good wine list. The service extremely impressive. Will definitely revisit again when next in Seoul.
