Soo Good!!
Kim’s Korean barbecue is the place to be when your craving authentic chicken bulgogi!! The portions are huge and the service is excellent. The takeout is also amazing and I basically go here once a week. I also really love the seafood pancake which is also huge! I will never stop coming to Kim’s Korean Barbecue! Everyone reading this review immediately pick up the phone to order takeout or make a reservation you will not regret it!

Never fails! Always excellent food, service and value. The balgogi chicken should be nominated for a Nobel Peace prize!

My daughter pulled me in for a different kind of meal late one afternoon recently. The restaurant, a nicely converted house, filled up rapidly shortly after 5:00pm on a week day. Great, friendly and efficient service ! Can’t pronounce what we had but platters of Korean rice, beef, and various kimchi items and yummies were ferried out and devoured. Hunger vanished quickly .Really good, and highly recommended. I look forward to returning !

I have visited this restaurant a dozen times and I’ve been happy every time! Even the tea is delicious

Terrific food and good service. The Korean seafood pancakes are tender with tons of seafood. The bulgogi and bulgalbi were very flavourful as well!

Best Korean food in Nanaimo. Friendly staff! I’ve been here 5 times now and have been absolutely blown away every time! My go to is the bibimbap. The sides of kimchi, pickled onions, sweet potato salad and pickled veggies are a delight. I could eat here everyday! Today we ordered the appy of wontons. I believe they were shrimp and pork. One thing that I would appreciate would be an alternative desert item other than ice cream.

First time at this restaurant, but will definitely return. Service initially at table was fast, and only one server. Orders were taken and then a selection of little appetizers brought to our table, 5 of us and there were still leftovers. Meals were served piping hot, and all orders were accurate. I had enough left to take home for another meal. The rest of our party were very impressed with the taste, quality and quantity of their meals alco.

It really is a shame that Korean food doesn't often get the recognition that it deserves, but I am really happy that I have recently discovered Kim's Korean BBQ. I have gone 4 times now, trying something different each time, and I have enjoyed every single meal. They have lots of different stuff on the menu but I recommend to try the barbecue (it is a barbecue house, after all). The Ssam is an appetizer that consists of a piece of lettuce and as a wrap and some different Korean fillings and it was a pleasant surprise because it isn't the type of thing that I would normally eat. It's pretty far off from western food and I did have to look around to see how othet people were eating it because I was a bit confused about what to do with it, but in the end I went straight home to recommend it to my friends and co-workers. I really like this place and I'm shocked that it isn't packed full every day, but I feel like one day it will be.
