A Nobu like experience without the excessive cost.
The selections of sushi were artfully reimagined by the chef.

Food was great! We ordered the edamame, toro maki, and the salmon belly tar tar. My favorite was the salmon belly tar tar. So delicious and tasty with some amazing chips on the side. The toro roll was also delicious just very simple. I will probably get the salmon roll next time. The edamame was steamed just right with some great salt on top. The ambiance is very cool and the service was great. They do charge an 18% service charge which is split between all the staff. The inside was super cool and the bathrooms were so different than any restaurant I have been in Miami. Not sure why this place isn't more packed but for sure come here for some good fish and good vibes.

I've rated Kosushi in the past as I'm a local to the neighborhood and really try and support local. Unfortunately, my dining experience recently was nothing more than two stars as the service was terrible to completely non-existent. Relatively empty restaurant but the hostess was adamant about seating us at one of the worse tables. Ordered a bottle of expensive sake and no one helped pour it as our waiter completely disappeared. Literally took our order and we never saw her again. Ever. No follow ups. Food still quite delicious. Tried the salmon pear app, Kosushi king roll and a selection of sashimi which didn't disappoint. The decor has also changed as the lights are brighter and the music is much louder. I'd also add that my eyes were burning the entire time as they had an issue with their hot kitchen. So they closed itBe aware if the bill. They charge a resort fee????? Plus 18% which we failed to see until after we paid and additional tip. Bummed and likely won't recommend or dine there anytime soon.
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous Japanese restaurant.
Love that there is wide opening seating, so you can see your sushi get prepared. My favorite was the tuffle crab and eel sushi. Everything was refresh and the pairing with certain ingredients was perfect. Who knew truffle and crab legs would go together. I ended up ordering 2. Excellent service and the staff is extremely nice.
Be the first to ReplyI got a take out order from this restaurant for some
I got a take out order from this restaurant for some clients of mine and had a co worker pick it up. I had problems ordering over the phone so it was ordered at the restaurant. We were told the 7 piece sushi selection is not available and it was substituted for the more expensive premium sashimi 10 piece selection. I don't know why the 7 piece sushi selection is not available (this is a sushi restaurant right?) I found all this out when my co worker returned with it so was too late to change. My clients found the rolls were loose and fell apart easily and were very disappointed at the overall quality considering this is a high end establishment with our order at $500, even for takeaway, the quality should still be the best.
Be the first to ReplyThis review is specifically for the special Jun Sakamoto
This review is specifically for the special Jun Sakamoto dinner on Nov. 15. We were very excited about this meal, especially since we consider Kosushi to normally be the best sushi in Miami. The toro foie and madai jelly are the stuff dreams are made of...The Jun Sakamoto dinner came with very high expectations. It fell flat from the start. Our food took a long time to begin arriving, and some of the gaps in between courses on the prix fixe menu were unacceptably long. The black cod dish that started things off was good but not remarkable. If the pickled eggplant hadn't been served with the cod the dish would have been too sweet. The nigiri that followed were all good, but nothing had the wow factor of the normal menu items. The special soy sauce that many of the items were brushed with was not salty enough and did not have the umami one would expect. We didn't want to ask for additional soy sauce but were repeatedly tempted. The scallop tempura that finished the meal was ok, but again not special enough to meet expectations. Thankfully, the matcha panna cotta was delicious and sent us home on a high note, and we did appreciate the friendly service as always. We will be back to Kosushi, and look forward to the regular menu with all of its amazing flavors that we so missed on this night.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with contemporary
The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with contemporary Japanese design and in a wonderful location across from south pointe. These two elements created extremely high expectations which I have to say were not met. I still had a good meal at Kosushi and great service, but I wasn't particularly impressed. I go back and forth between 3 and 4 stars - I'd give a 3.5 if I could but I can't so I'll round up. The black salt scallop cold dish was great - fresh and flavorful. Salmon truffle roll was very good for maki and so were the wagyu gyozas. Seabass skewers were good and prepared well although I would've preferred that as a filet, skewers aren't adding much appeal. The nigiri selection was impressive on the menu but didn't translate into much irl. They should really consider torching the foie gras on the tuna foie, would be a game changer. The king crab truffle was inedible to me as it was WAY too salty.. probably a one off mistake. Disappointing though I might give Kosushi another try and explore more of the menu. But not before giving other spots a try
Be the first to ReplyExcellent! The sushi and the nigiris are to die for!
Excellent! The sushi and the nigiris are to die for! Quality and good price. I love to seat at the sushi counter!
Be the first to Replyvery cool ambiance insideservice sucked.
taking the order, and getting the food quickly, but we just sat at an empty table for 30 minutes beofre we finally could flag the server down for the dessert menu/ check. they also dont let you know that there's an 18% gratuity included which i think is important to bring up. the food was good. the yellowtail hamachi was the best one. sea bass skewers were delicious. crispy rice was just okay.

The food it's terrific, the service it's not so great but the beauty of the place deserves the chance.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is just WONDERFUL!!! It's the perfect
This place is just WONDERFUL!!! It's the perfect combination between Japanese Vernacular architecture and contemporary feel.beautifully designed.Japanese food is one of my favourites and this place has stolen my heart. It's just outstanding ย .In Miami you can find a few good places but nothing extraordinary and most of them overpriced and overrated... well, now I can say it... I've found one. Loved the sushi bar idea in the centre of the restaurant so in every place you were seated you could appreciated the chefs skills. Very interactive.Food was amazing, fresh, well plated (you could appreciate in every detail). At this time we ordered : Salmon Truffle/Toro Tartar/Yuzu Hamachi/Veggie Roll/ Mushrooms/ salmon crackers / miso soup/Tuna Temaki.Desserts: mochi/ affogatto ice creamCool ambience/ a bit noisy for me but nothing to complain about it.The only mishap: the service! Could be much better but I understand, was a busy night and short staff.*They do not have valet parking service , unfortunately , but you still have public parking around. (Well, I drove around at least 20 min looking for a free space... almost lost my reservation). Can't wait to be back

Loved this place! Good food, cool design and attentive service. Im not sure why it was not busy at all, they are great.
Be the first to ReplyBeen dying to come here w my boyfriend for a while now.
We live in miami and have a big sushi taste. This was by far one of the best quality sushi places I've ever had- not just in Miami. Maria, our server was sooooo sweet, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The king crab truffle was out of this world wow! Ambience is chill but not overly up or down- cute interior. Will be back and making this a staple; so much better than Novikov.
Be the first to ReplyAs my foodie friend recommended it and we have similar
As my foodie friend recommended it and we have similar preferences in Japanese cuisine, we tried it and really glad we did! She even suggested some things to order as she went recently. As our waitress suggested, it is recommended to order a few things to share. Aneta was also great in her suggestions and sake suggestion. We started off with kushi seabass skewers which were amazing, succulent and reminded me of Nobu's black cod bc of the den miso flavor and we ordered it again. Then we ordered Kosushi king roll and it was spectacular, probably one of the best sushi rolls we've ever had, also repeat for the table. It had aburi effect (torched) which we all love! We ordered the yuzu hamachi which consists of yuzu soy, ginger and garlic chips which was also very good. We also had the salmon toro truffle nigiri and as my friend described it, it was soft like butter. We also ordered the salmon maki truffle (amazing as well) spicy tuna and salmon maki rolls. We ordered the toro tartar which was not one of my favorites but a favorite of the table from the caviar which came beautifully presented with taro chips. Also the cauliflower which I thought was ok as well. We paired all this with Seikyo Takehara sake bottle which Aneta recommended and it was smooth and accompanied our food very well. We ordered the shrimp tempura roll but perhaps they forgot as it was a busy evening so Aneta brought us the rock shrimp (again similar to Nobu) which was very kind of her. We also ordered the waygu tenderloin and I cannot say to the taste as I do not eat beef but I tried the enoki mushrooms that came on the bottom of it, bit too salty for me. Also ordered the unagi avo nigiri. The consensus was this was better than Zuma or Nobu so that says it all since we've been going to Nobu for 3 decades now. It was an amazing meal and definitely worth going back too! I can see why the chef in Brazil has a Michelin star!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is incredible.
The only thing they could do to improve the environment is to turn the music down. The music is so loud you can't even have a conversation. Kosushi is not a night club Miami type of restaurant so I don't understand why they can't turn the music a bit down. If they turned the music down it would be a lot more pleasant and I would be willing to stay for a lot longer and order more food.
Be the first to ReplyThis was the worst service I've ever experienced.
The bus boy was clearly high or just checked out and was picking up our plates while we were still eating off them. ย We waited probably half an hour for the check. After receiving such terrible service we received the check and an 18% gratuity charge was added already. Bold of them to assume they deserved that much. I went to the restroom after paying and there was urine all over the toilet seat. I spoke to the manager to notify him of the issue, and also comment on how our plates were being taken from us while we were still dining and he didn't seem to care at all and gave me one word responses. I have never left a negative review anywhere before but I was appalled with that I just went through to have sushi with 2 other people. The food was good but the experience was just so terrible that I couldn't even enjoy it.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional service , great atmosphere, and amazing food.
The Gyoza we're wonderful- just a delightful experience overall. Great for a date night
Be the first to ReplyHighlights:* Good but not outstanding* Service is included
Highlights:* Good but not outstanding* Service is included but not mentioned* OK for the neighborhood but many other Japanese options in SO FL* Parking is not easy to findOur expectations were elevated reading about KoSushi's Sao Paolo location's Michelin Star. We thought Kosushi would be something that would stand out from the crowd. It did not. The food was fine, but it is on the same level as many other places. We have had better at Nobu, Osaka, Uchi, Nossa, ZZ's, Makoto, Naoe, and comparable or better at Etaru, Ke-uh, Kuro, Mr. Omakase, Salvaje, Zuma and others. It is not at a Michelin level. It's a good neighborhood place, a little trendy with South Beach prices. I am surprised at the many 5 star reviews, I can't imagine those reviewers have dined at all the other places I mentioned. I was going to give a 4 star review for the food but what really soured me was the deception at the end of the meal. I am a generous tipper, I often leave 25% or more for good service. The bill was presented with no mention of the 18% service charge included, which I'm sure some might overlook, but what was worse than that was the request for 18, 20 or 22% to be added to the bill on top of that! You are given a handheld computer to process your check and it specifically asks for a large gratuity to be added with no mention of an 18% service charge already included and no mention from the server. I call that fraud, because it's intentional. Edwin Delgado is cited as the Executive Chef on the website. He's good. He was recently working at Ke-uh in Sunny Isles after stints at Tanuki and Nobu. The wine and beverage list is not posted online so I will give you some highlights. The only Champagne by the glass is Dom Perignon at $48 otherwise you'll have to settle for a Prosecco at $17. Wine bottle prices are about 3-4 times retail, for example Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc $24 at total wine is $95 here. ย Coctkails are $18, Japanese Beers are $12-$26, Sakes are available by the glass and bottles go from $58 - $680. If you're drinking you are helping to subside high South Beach rents.
Be the first to ReplyThe atmosphere lived up to what I've heard and seen about
The atmosphere lived up to what I've heard and seen about Kosushi -- the music choice was enjoyable over dinner and conversation, and the interior design was tasteful. However, food was on the pricier side given Miami Beach, but it was not really worth it... We ordered Crispy Rice Salmon, Shrimp Tempura Maki, Salmon Truffle Maki, Miso Soup, Wagyu Gyoza, and King Crab Yuzu. The Saketini was also lackluster and overpriced for what was considered a signature cocktail. Kosushi was worth trying for the experience, but if I'd put my money somewhere else for equal quality sushi.

I went to dinner with three people last month that are real sushi lovers from out of town. They ย thought the dining experience was very enjoyable because of the server and his knowledge. His name was Michael. His Appearance was immaculate. ย His knowledge was unbelievable with answers about which sake to get and the pairings of the sushi. Whatever we asked he knew the answer and made our dinner A wonderful dining experience.I don't think the food was worth the price.
