Yeah this place's Michelin star is well deserved.
We were so stuffed from the omakase but it was the best food ever. This is my second favorite sushi omakase for a reason. Love.

This is one of those places where you want to make sure to eat before they start racking up more Michelin stars. The decor and ambience is very nice, but not pretentious or unapproachable. We were seated at the sushi bar and the servers were attentive and accommodating. We opted for the extended tasting menu and this was truly one of the best meals of my life. Multiple times throughout the meal, I found myself thinking "I didn't know food could taste like this!" They also have an amazing sake list that is worth exploring. Each dish was presented and explained in a way that really showed how much time, effort, and passion each chef put into their food. This was truly a revelatory experience for me, the next time I'm in Barcelona, I will be back. You cannot find a better meal for the price.
Be the first to ReplyI had an amazing dinner at Koy Shunta.
Made the reservation same day though I dont think that is a common thing. I sat at a regular table but saw open kitchen table where you have a great view of the action in the kitchen. Everything I had was great. Truly outstanding. The service was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. This is a fantastic restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyMy first time in restaurant with Michelin Star and I
My first time in restaurant with Michelin Star and I sincerely hope that others are not like that. I summarize my story:1. About a month ago I booked at the restaurant and requested a reservation for the long tasting menu (Gastro) which is about € 180.2. On the website, they boast of being able to adjust the menu to any type of allergy (in my case the shellfish), which made me throw myself upside down to choose this restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday and it was also my mum's Christmas gift to me [go to a restaurant with Michelin Star at last !!]3. In the reservation I ordered the long Gastro tasting menu and specified in the comments that I am allergic to shellfish, hoping that as they put on their website, they will adapt it for me (as they have already done in restaurants like Osaka, in Lima or Buenos Aires)4. They got back to me almost immediately confirming that they had read about my shellfish allergy and that everything OK.5. A month later, yesterday, when I arrive at the restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday, they tell me at the entrance that if I am allergic to shellfish I shouldn't choose the tasting menu and I should go to the regular menu instead since the tasting one is based on shellfish and it would be almost impossible to adapt it for me. BAD START6. Although the staff was very friendly and sent 3 different people to solve my problem, finally and honestly they told me that it was best to go with the regular menu since they have no plan B prepared for shellfish allergies (although they claim on their website that they do and they confirmed it to me a month before via email).7. I agreed to go with the regular menu and that my girlfriend stays with the Gastro tasting menu.8. Here comes the best: after all this and being the restaurant literally empty at 8:30 pm, they tell me that since I am going to eat from the regular menu they have to move me from the bar, which is where you can see the magic happening (cooks preparing the dishes), and I have to go to the lounge inside. What?!?!?! I mean, after all the trouble and me fighting for the tasting menu that I was dying to eat, they tell me that even though my girlfriend was having the tasting menu and the restaurant was empty, I have to go to the lounge ??? Of course, I refused, to which they told me that they were going to consult it with I don't know who ... they finally accepted that I stayed at the bar (only imagine...). Only the fact that they had the courage to ask me that... Anyways...9. The food was good but not VERY good and moreover if you have to pay a € 277 bill. My gf didn't like the Gastro tasting menu at all. It's true that some dishes are up to each one's palate, but the oysters, for instance, that she loves them, she couldn't even finish them. And it is not that she is any silly rich cock who throws food away, if she doesn't eat it, is because she really does not like it.Long story short, very friendly staff but with little common sense especially by asking me to get up from the bar. The restaurant is very expensive. If they sell it like a regular good Japanese restaurant, OK, if not, NO.

I ordered the tasting menu; my wife and daughter ordered a la cart. Had a bottle of cava bubbles. in general it was a very pleasant meal with high quality food materials and attention to detail and both preparation and service. We came from California - this is hands-down better comparable to any Michelin rated restaurant in California in both quality, service and price.

I went to Spain last month for my birthday so I decided to treat myself something nice. In a one Michelin star restaurant, I didn't feel the atmosphere is pretentious. The deco is contemporary and comfortable. The staffs are friendly and attending. I ordered from their tasting menu and I was in heaven. It was started with a cup of dashi and chips. They made the daishi in front of you with the coffee maker, not the mr coffee, it's the artisanal one. You don't see this everywhere. Then the appetizer start serving Scallop with truffleShell fish sunomono Sashimi appetizer 3 types of ebi sushilSeafood tempura Crab tempura with sautéed mushrooms Mackerel sushi (the freshest Spanish mackerel I've ever taste)Tuna hand roll (the richness of the tuna is almost like chi toro)Chi toro sushiAnago sushiDessert assortment I would definitely go there again whenever I visit Barcelona.

Made reservations after ready several blogs that all pointed to this being an amazing find in Barcelona. I had my bucket list set to dine at a Michelin star restaurant and so happy that this was my first. I made reservations 2 months in advance to insure I would get in as I was only going to be in Barcelona for 3 days. I had one of the tasting menus and was totally impressed by the creativity and more so of the flavors. This is not an American typical sushi and I knew that but it was so much more that I expected. The food was all top quality and the presentations were over the top. I truly enjoyed every course and the fact they change your chopsticks with each course too. But the very best part of it all was the Waygu beef.... I'm still dreaming about it.

It's the best sushi I've had not only in Spain, but in comparison to what is served in America & rivals what I've had in Japan. The nigiri is not cheap, but it's very reasonably priced for what you get. I highly recommend this place, and if your pockets are feeling deep, try the tasting menu as well, which is what my friend went with. I was perfectly happy sticking with nigiri for the entire meal, the quality of fish was top notch. My friend was raving about how good the prawns taste here, he says he is still dreaming about them and is haunted enough by the flavor that he's determined to search all restaurants in LA to find an adequate replacement, thus far he's claimed nothing has compared... So.. I guess word of warning, DO NOT eat the prawns unless you want all prawns to be ruined for you for the rest of your life. THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!! You ABSOLUTELY need to call ahead during lunch hours, slipping the hostess a 5 euro bill to sneak you onto the reservation list simply isn't going to work, take my word for it... HAHAHA...If you want to try to make the dinner. We tried to make dinner 3 times and it was a failure, finally settled for a lunch spot and it was great. I can see why this place has michelin stars. SPECTACULAR!!!!
Be the first to ReplyReally great Japanese restaurant.
Had one of the degustation menus. Unfortunately I don't remember everything I had but most of it contained raw or only partially cooked seafood. If you're not a fan maybe this isn't the place for you. The waiters were very friendly and the food was beautifully plated. I think this is a great restaurant for date night and also girls night out!
Be the first to ReplyGreat fun and very good food that does not disappoint.
We've been twice, and the best experience was when there was just 2 of us and we sat at the bar. We could watch our food being prepared and was served it by the chef who prepared it. When we went as a 4, we were seated at a table away from the kitchen. There is a wide variety of Japanese food, but both times we selected the tasting menu option with the wagu option.
