It was so good! I've also come here and gotten tbe pork belly combo, sausage and rice and it is all amazing seriously. I recommend it and this dish was a special that was braised and had chilis and the most delicious gravy.

Be sure to get some Gwenie's desserts. Heavenly OMG. Cassia leaf stew....i can't wait to go back. My 85 year old parents couldn't get over the food.
Be the first to ReplyHad my first visit here and it didn't disappoint.
Every dish was spot on, really tasty stuff. Service was swift, which made the meal even better. Only got carry out but they do have a nice vibe and they have some limited seating inside. Definitely planning a return visit to try some more things but if you're thinking about trying it out, I'd recommend going for it.
Be the first to ReplyEverything here is good.
But the lechon belly and the empanadas are a must. Great people too!
Be the first to ReplyIf you like pork you will love this place.
Items tried Sisig was excellent Lumpia was excellent Pancit was excellent Price point is actually pretty good given the quality and quantity of food This is a kind of a sit-down eat fast takeout place but we ended up coming and having a sit-down meal and it was actually not bad I would have liked to have tried one of the cakes but just didn't have any room They have plenty of parking in the free lot. I definitely will come back
Be the first to ReplyEasily one of the best if not the best Filipino businesses
Easily one of the best if not the best Filipino businesses to eat at in the east coast. Their lechon is honestly better than a decent amount of Lechon I've had in the Philippines as a Filipino immigrant. Even my picky Filipino parents have nothing to critique, they're happy with everything Everything was great, food, presentation, menu, service, desserts, prices, etc etc. and the ambiance and vibe of the restaurant was so nice. if you're Filipino, this place is a must, hands down. and if you're not Filipino, this is one of the best places to learn what it's all about. This place is 1/1, nothing like it.

Overview: Came here for lunch with a friend, tried the filipino fried rice dish and it was delicious! Also tried the ube pie (they have a selection of filipino baked desserts if you're craving something sweet to finish off your meal)- it was delicious and disappeared quickly! Service was friendly, helpful, fast. Loved: Service & food presentation & taste were great! Would I Recommend? Totally! I'll def be back. Suggestions for Improvement: Storefront is a bit small, when capital allows suggest expanding and moving into a bigger space, making the interior colorful & cute and great for photo ops (which always helps attract influencers and young people).
Be the first to ReplyReally good spot.
First time and got a bunch of stuff. Ill ask for some of the sauces on the side next time though. We will def be back.o

Who doesn't love crispy lechon?! The location is a nice, casual spot to enjoy lunch and dinner with friends. It is a small location, so it's not ideal for very large groups. The service is great, they will bring the food to you once it's ready. The pancit has a great flavor and the lumpia was extremely tasty. The main event, the lechon, was delicious as always paired with rice and atchara. I recommend getting a refreshing calamansi juice.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is amazing, seriously it's a happy place.
I always come for a good eat and love their chili spicy sauce they sell. They are good portions and very filling. Service is quick and friendly. It's a calm quiet place and enjoy the music.

Went back here again for dinner after a while and the food and service are still amazing. My husband ordered his favorite, lechon belly combo and I got the chicken adobo. The lechon belly was crunchy and tasty. i love my chicken adobo, the chicken was very tender and juicy. we both got garlic rice with our order which we really love. i would definitely recommend the garlic rice if you haven't had it!We decided to dine in and asked for high chair, the staff actually wiped down the chair before bringing it out which surprised me because I haven't seen a place that would do that, unless that chair was super dirty that I didn't see lol but I thought it was nice, since I usually would have to wipe it down at other places.
Be the first to ReplyBest Lechon I've ever had.
Great service, garlic rice was on point, and the calamansi juice tastes amazing
Be the first to ReplyI grew up on this kind of food.
The pork belly, lumpia, adobo sandwiches, sweet pork longanisa, and Papa B's fried rice are excellent dishes that I could eat over and over again. The pancit and Adobo chicken don't seem to be their speciality, it's a little bland for my tastes (especially the adobo chicken), but still pretty decent. All in all, Kuya Ja is a great Philippines restaurant that specializes in some really killer pork belly (Lechon). And here's a pro tip. Always get the garlic rice and a fried egg, it's wonderful and fragrant. Also recommend adding on a sweet pork longanisa.

The food is not authentic anymore compared the last time I was there. The chicken adobo failed including the Pancit. Lechon is still OK though. Service is awesome, ambience is ok not bad.

Clearly this place is well known to be delicious because it's absolutely packed even after 2 pm. I would recommend getting takeout because of this. I've tried a few things and my favorite is their classic lechon pork belly sandwich. There's a sign in the restaurant that warns this is super fatty and I would agree, if you're super turned off by that don't get it. I personally find it juicy, crispy, flavorful and absolutely delicious. I tried the burger as well, which is super yummy, but it took forever to get my food. I'm not sure if it was because they forgot to make it. Either way I really enjoy the food here and it's cool to see Filipino cuisine represented!

My coworkers wouldn't stop raving over this place so I just had to try it. The menu had many options (not vegetarian friendly unfortunately) and the Lechon Kawali was exploding with flavor. The portion was very filling and I was definitely satisfied. The staff was super friendly and offered great recommendations off the menu. Highly recommend! The seating area is a bit small but we were able to make it work for a part of 6.

Order ahead, if you wanna come here on weekend!! it was incredibly busy and even though the short wait time is only about 10 minutes the place is really small and crowded. So people were pushing passed us the entire time. However, the food was all really great. The Lechon belly sandwich was our favorite. Each bite was good, and even the bread was amazing. We also got KJ's signature pancit. I'm not too experienced with Filipino food, but this was really good. It had chicken and shrimp as well as little pieces of pork belly. Not sure if I would get it again, but I would definitely get the Lechon belly sandwich again. They also have Gwenies pastries for sale which I have purchased from farmers markets in the past, and I always have a super long line and limited supply. So I'm glad to see that they have them here and you can just walk in whenever and pick some up. The Uber cheesecake is probably my favorite and I'd recommend picking one up while you're also getting your Lechon belly sandwich.

I have eaten once here before pre-pandemic and I don't think anything that was very memorable. However, this time I lucked out when I ordered their Signature Pancit! The perfect blend of rice vermicelli, fried proportion of the famous Filipino Longonisa (sweet pork sausage), shrimp and chicken packed with flavor. Remember to squeeze the wedge of lime provided as it only enhances the flavor and adds that little sour twist! I also ordered the Ube Loaf from Gwen Pastries sold here which I ate later. The soft layered rolls were drenched with the Ube cream adding to the sweetness but not overwhelming in proportion. Definitely recommend but it's best to know what to order beforehand.
Be the first to ReplyLoved the food.
Would recommend for pork belly. Service fast and friendly. Just check their hours before heading over.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is so.
so. good. Our office walked here for lunch and every person's meal was excellent. The food came out SO fast, and it was all hot and fresh. The Signature Pancit was incredible -- super flavorful without being overpowering. The combination of shrimp, chicken, and sausage in the dish is definitely different, but it works! I overate because it tasted so good, but the portions are really generous for the price. Others in the group got the pork belly and said it was excellent as well. Will definitely be returning for lunch and ordering the Pancit again!

Just stopped in on a coincidence, had an errand nearby, this place is not to be missed. I had no idea what Lechon was before I stopped in, but I do now! Had the Lechon sandwich, was dynamite, will definitely find my way back.
Be the first to ReplyI'll get straight to the point.
Crispy skin pork belly, the skin perfectly crispy and not so hard that you feel it will chip your teeth. It has that perfect easily crunch pork skin, over roasted pork, and it was so delicious, you immediately want more. The sauces and pickled veges it comes with are really good as well. I didn't try the other dishes, I will be back and bring my parents too, but the roasted pork belly (as opposed to the fried) had me hooked over just the crispy skin alone. I am definitely going back...
Be the first to ReplyAfter a long day of sightseeing cruise me and my family
After a long day of sightseeing cruise me and my family decided to check this talk about filipino food place. Their famous on the menu is the Lechon belly and Sisig. I was a little disappointed when we came around 7pm and they are already out of arrozcaldo and longanisa. Other than that their food quality is excellent and the customer service as well. The crew check on us and even offer us free Gwenies Cupcake Pandan and Mango also phenomenal. They offer burgers and other american style sandwich so if your not brave enough to eat some real fatty meat there are other food options for everyone. I highly recommend their restaurant.

I've never had Lechon before and boy was I missing out! I ordered the Lechon Combo and subbed in garlic rice (the garlic rice is totally worth the extra $.99)! The best way I can describe the taste is if pulled pork and bacon had a baby. Every single staff member was incredibly kind and attentive. They even have a large selection of Filipino desserts available from Gwenie's Pastries! The restaurant itself is a bit small (and very popular)so, I'd come prepared to order to go!
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the Lechon Belly Combo.
I was planning on driving the meal home to D.C. for dinner, but when it was handed to me I couldn't help but have a taste. Long story short- I didn't have any food to drive home. When I had a taste of the crispy skin I was hooked! I tried the belly meat and I couldn't stop. The meat was juicy and tender and the sauce they served with it was so good.I wish I had a picture to share but by the time I thought of taking pictures I was already done.
