Okay, it takes a lot for me to make a 1 star review.
... With that being said, I will start off with the view is very nice. My wife and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and chose this place over many other places in LA. We ordered the octopus to start. As much as I like octopus, it was cold and there wasn't anything special to it. Our drinks were very good, but service was mediocre for a steak house. Would have liked the employees to be more attentive. My wife and I ordered the most expensive plate on their menu, the wagu tomahawk. I order the steak medium, and unfortunately they brought it to us medium rare. (See the photos and tell me it wasn't cooked medium rare.... I had to send it back to the kitchen. We waited another 25 minutes for our meal. Also, our salad did not come with our steak like we asked. I asked for a manager and it took 10 minutes before Miguel came to our table. I don't expect free things, but Miguel offered us a free round and a cake for dessert. This probably cost the restaurant about 10 dollars.... My bill was $433! Again I don't like to complain nor do I like to complain about restaurants unless i deeply feel like they could have done better on making the customer happy. I'm more sorry I brought my wife and son to this restaurant for an important night of ours. I was hoping for an amazing night on our anniversary and we'll this place fell short by a Miley. I wish Miguel (the manager) would have been more attentive to my issues and would have done better to please his customers. This is why I rate this place a 1. Being honest. I hope this restaurant will improve their customer service.

All I can say is wow ! My husband surprised my daughter & I to an early anniversary dinner & oh my God... worth the money! All the staff was super nice, especially our server Joaquin. He was super duper nice & made conversations & was really fun to talk to & little did any of us knew that he was my dad's old old coworker from waaaaaay back in the day (late 90s/early 2000s), that was really fun to know! Small world ! We ordered the Wagyu Tomahawk for two, two drinks, bread, the Yukon potatoes & Joaquin at the end gave us some dessert. EVERYTHING was delicious from the drinks, to the main dish, to the dessert. We did get window seats but unfortunately, the night was foggy & up 71 floors, we couldnt see much but when we did, i snapped a quick pic. They do not have a kids menu but our daughter (8 yrs) was able to eat the wagyu meat since it was a good portion size for us 3. We will most definitely come back & ask for Joaquin again! We definitely had a good dinner!

The service of the waiters were great. Friendly and very responsive. However, the food is far from a Michelin star rated restaurant. I've had better steaks at Cheesecake Factory. The drinks were expensive, the food was expensive. I've had experiences of plenty actual steakhouses. This I must say is not one. Outback has better steaks than this. Mac and cheese was mediocre, and the poomes frites were ok. The only reason I came here was for the convenience of staying at the hotel; which I've stayed plenty of times. The restaurant however is a definitely no go. Not sure why so many good yelps, maybe their boujee personalities write the reviews just to say they went there. I can more than afford the price, but the quality is not equivalent. To top it I had a security behind my table during my entire stay for whatever reason, as soon as I handed my card he left. Like seriously!!

The steak was prepped perfectly and the service was just as good.

La Boucherie is amazing, located on the 71st floor of the Intercontinental hotel, the view while you dine is breathtaking. However the highlight of the evening was all the food and the amazing service we received. We had multiple servers come and help us and each and everyone was courteous, polite, and did everything to ensure we had a great experience. Our main server was Joaquin and he is the MVP. He made sure we were taken care of and that our evening was the best it could be. The food honestly speaks for itself and everything we ordered was delicious. While it was pricy the quality of ingredients and preparation was well worth the price. Our reservation was for 5:30, but due to LA traffic we were 30 minutes late, but the restaurant had no problem accommodating us and we still got a window seat. If you want a more intimate experience I definitely recommend an early dinner when they open, 5:30 or 6, because the later it gets the fuller this location gets.Definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area, wanting some steak and a good dining experience.

Looking for amazing views of Downtown LA, excellent service and quality food? Wait.. Did I say jaw dropping views? Yes, the view is pretty amazing. It's highly recommended that you book reservations online and mention any special requests. Celebrated a very special day in La Boucherie. Fine dining, top notch service, beautiful and cozy restaurant. Their French wine is amazing and exquisite. We had their Salmon and Rib Eye Steak, both were great. Also order the side orders: mushrooms (excellent and flavorful) and potatoes. Waiters were very attentive throughout the night and made their dining experience delightful. They also have a cute bar area where you can enjoy some drinks and take in that view.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to celebrate any occasion.
I came with my best friend to celebrate her birthday. Ambience is great - I love their modern decor. Even though it was raining that night, I still enjoyed the view of the city from the top. Food was delicious - we ordered sea bass, salmon, sides of asparagus, mushrooms and gratin - everything tasted superb. Drinks were tasty as well- I recommend everyone to try cognac based 21 questions. Server was friendly and courteous. They even brought out a birthday dessert as a surprise for my friend! Definitely coming back!
Be the first to ReplyBest view and high end environment.
Food is ok but can't beat the environment and surrounding. Highly recommend for a peaceful dinner with a high end atmosphere and lovely view. Bar is just above the floor if still want to hang out till late at night.
Be the first to ReplyLocated inside the intercontinental hotel on the 70th floor.
I'll say this, the view at night is AMAZING... if you luck out and can get a table next to a window please do. This is your typical fancy restaurant. Steaks are around $85 and up. That price includes no sides.. which are a additional $20 a pop. And the best part is when they ask you if you want water. " do you want water?" Yes.. then comes the judgmental question of "tap" or bottled sparkling water.. and God forbid you say tap. The servers nose goes immediately up and right then and there they are better then you. The food is good, steak is tasty but the bill for myself and my daughter was $300. I don't mind paying for a really good meal but in my opinion this wasn't worth the money. If your looking to impress a date, this is your place.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, amazing ambience, definitely a fancy spot.
It IS pricy but you get what you pay for. simple dinner for 2 people, no appetizers or sides , 1 round of drinks and dessert came out to over $300. Not complaining just telling it as it is. **beware of sketchy Valet guys**The restaraunt validated parking for me but the parking guys downstairs were super sketch! Said they don't validate on Sundays. still took $20 (CASH ONLY) for moving my car about 15 feet. The guys definitely pocketed that money. I hope the appropriate people see this and take action.

After having a truly awful experience @ Spire 73 I was hesitant to try the restaurant a floor below, but I'm so glad that I made the booking because not only was the view incredible but so was the food. Our server Ivan was very prompt and did a great job. A well known reality TV star was at the table next to us, but we pretended not to notice. One of the perks of dining in Los Angeles. La Boucherie is located on the 71st floor of the Intercontinental Hotel in the financial district of DTLA and being one floor lower than the tallest restaurant on the West coast, it's easy to see why the views are so amazing: it's because they're literally unbeatable in terms of height. I started off with the Baked Oysters and really enjoyed them. Usually I prefer raw oysters but wanted to change it up tonight. The blue cheese crumble on top was definitely my favorite part. For my entree I chose the Prime Short Rib and ate every bit. It was almost crispy and delicious. For dessert we finished with the Chocolate Soufflé and although a bit expensive for $22 it's to be expected in a hotel. Overall a terrific meal with truly memorable views. We were lucky to have a table against the window so we were able to gaze out over the city for the entire meal. I would recommend to anyone for any occasion, especially a special one.
Be the first to ReplyI don't normally leave reviews, but I would leave zero
I don't normally leave reviews, but I would leave zero stars if I could. I went there for my 20th wedding anniversary. I told them of the occasion when I made my reservation and requested a window table. I was told they would do their very best to accommodate. However, they did not and the only table for 4 by a window that was left was given to a couple with a baby who didn't even order dinner. After them it was given to another couple who also did not order dinner but instead had beers. If you want to check the place out, don't waste your money on dinner. It seems you can have the best table for a couple of beers. The food was mediocre for the price, especially considering the chef has a Michelin Star. We ordered espresso after dinner which did not resemble coffee at all. More like dirty laundry water. The waiter prided himself saying they were great before closing during COVID and now even better. I strongly disagree. I asked to speak to the chef who told me to speak to the manager. It was clear that the manager had been drinking while working and approached our table with a bossy diminor. When I told him how I felt about my dining experience, he said he was sorry to hear that and hoped that I would come back. I will definitely not go back. This was an awful experience and the place looked run down, the service was average and we left feeling extremely disappointed. This place is not worth the money or the time. There are many wonderful places with great service in Los Angeles. This place is not one of them.

What an experience! We came here after a huge letdown at 71 above. The staff, the view, and the food is all much better here. From the moment we walked in, the hostesses were very kind and accommodating. The bar tenders and wait staff were all very personable, helpful, and attentive. Shout out to Omar, Beau, and Rachel Elliott for really going above and beyond to make our experience memorable. PS order the crab cakes!

Coming from Chicago and the steak houses there, I'd call the food a 3+ and the view a 5. Definitely a yes if you are on an expense account, and a strong yes for special occasion / view, but I would go elsewhere if food for value were the driver.

I came here for dinner with a friend on a random weeknight, and we got an awesome window seat that had enough distance from all other tables. The views from this restaurant are amaaaaaaazing. I wish I came here closer to sunset so I could see the day/sunset/night views! We got both the Japanese wagyu and the American wagyu, and I actually liked the American wagyu a lot more! Soooooo soft and yum.The bathroom is worth checking out as well!

I was intrigued by the negative reviews, most of which were on Valentine's Day so I came back because I wanted to see if one of my favorite restaurants was as bad as people were claiming it to be. I went with some of my favorite people to celebrate the end of the week. Our bar was set high, keeping in mind that the last time we had La Boucherie was when it was lasted opened. So naturally, as we looked through the menu, we were a little disappointed not to see some of our favorite foods :(. However, as a server, Tony explained, Covid has made it hard to acquire the same ingredients, so many of the menu selections from meats to the rare salts and mustards are tough to come by right now.We ordered from their new menu, and let me tell you that each item we ordered was spectacular in terms of flavor, temperature presentation, and, most importantly, taste! Well, except for the bread, it was lacking a bit, and I was very disappointed that they didn't have the turmeric bread :'(!!!! Continued to stick with tomahawk and lobster and they were excellent; sprinkle a bit of Hawaiian volcano or Bali salt to make it perfect! Still, their Salmon with sprinkles of pink Himalayan salt was terrific! I really enjoyed it with the wine. They changed their dessert as well. We tried their lemon pie, not cheesecake, and replacement for the chocolate, but the cheesecake was the winner! The texture was great, and the flavor was not too sweet -- It was perfect! The combination of the food, stunning aerial view, and company to share this experience with was such a delight. That is why we are really here for the experience, and even though sometimes you might not get what you want, everything we got was perfect, from the drinks to the desert! It's no French Laundry, but it has made it into the Michelin list for their food and drinks, so they are not just pretentious steakhouse. They packaged the tomahawk bone for our dogs, and they loved the steak bones. They turned into Gollum dogs, fighting over them and sleeping with their "precious." The end. TIPS:The best time to come is when they open at 5:30 PM; you get to watch the sunset and the night sky!Parking Tips: Parking and getting to the restaurant can be tricky. The parking garage is on W 7th street, so do not turn right on Figueroa St, continue straight ahead! Next, if the elevators are not in the sitting area with the rainbow wall, you're in the wrong spot! Oh, and they require Covid19 vaccination proof, so have it ready! Tips for the ladies: ladies, this is a tip for you all because I have seen many funny things happen in the restroom watching some of you search for the stalls! They are well blended into the wall - I know. The restroom stalls are on your right as you enter the hallway with the mirror; it's not a wall. Look for the gold circle that indicates whether a stall is vacant or occupied. You're welcome!
Be the first to ReplyWow! Ambiance, service, food.
.... on point!I found this place through a online ad, not sure where, and it did not disappoint. It's at the top (71st floor or something high up there) of the intercontinental hotel in downtown Los Angeles so the view is epic! It's a intimate restaurant with not too many tables and excellent service. Not going to lie, it's pricy for us common people but in my opinion, worth the money for the experience.I usually get yelled at by my wife because I always ask for steak sauce when I go to steak places. I just think it adds to the flavor for me and I know you are rolling your eyes cuz supposedly a good cut of steak does not require steak sauce or any topping whatsoever. But hear me out, if I'm going to drop money on a steak, I want to enjoy it my way, so if I want to drench it in sauce, just let me be!But this place is the first and only place so far that I have had a steak that did not require any sort of topping or sauce. They do offer sauces and I got a sauce but didn't end up using much of it.We will definitely be going back but will need to start saving up cash now for the 2023 visit!
