Suggested as a more modern take on French cuisine, it was also one of the few on the list that was open in late August. Getting a reservation was straightforward enough on the website. The entrance leads you to a dining room coated in white, from the bricks to the paintings (the one close to us appeared to be a piece of art done in white leather), giving the dining area a warm, bright ambiance. Service overall was pretty solid, from our Italian waitress who spoke solid English (and perfect French - I thought she was from France) to the various folks who brought out our dishes and could describe them. The menu is pretty straightforward - the menu is prix fixe, but you choose which starters and entrees/mains you want. With five courses total (and a couple amuse bouches to start), it's a manageable meal where you won't come out feeling stuffed. Although I enjoyed my oyster (a relatively large one - oysters are bigger in France than the U.S.) served in a very light cucumber broth, my wife's tomatoes were exquisite, served in a cold tomato broth with chunks of lightly whipped burrata. We had many tomatoes (and tomato dishes) during our time in Europe this summer, but these were definitely the best version that we had. Our next course was the ravioli (one of the restaurant's more notable bites, if I recall our waitress' comment correctly). It was served inside a few leaves of arugula and had a very creamy cheese to it - objectively very good as well, if not quite at the same level of the ravioli we had enjoyed in Italy. I really enjoyed my seafood course, which was very lightly seared mackerel, served with a risotto that was lightly creamy but not overwhelmingly so and topped with a hint of tea-infused salt. The cooking of the fish in particular was excellent, as it melted right in with the risotto. My last main was the farm lamb, which was a very colorful plating of lamb with blobs of tarragon gravy (very herbal and a great combination with the jus of the lamb) and lightly charred small onions giving the dish a nice balance between the succulent meat (which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare) and the rest of the ingredients. I finished off my meal with the strawberries and strawberry sorbet; it was definitely in-season, and the fruit was more sweet than tart and paired excellently with the sorbet (which had a little more tartness) and the light shortbreads crisps.La Dame de Pic is a 4.5-star experience in my book, but I will round up because I really enjoyed the modern ambiance and the food here is prepared thoughtfully and executed very well, without any false notes or extraneous additions into each plate. It may not be as famous as some of the other spots in town, but its Michelin star is well-deserved, and I would be excited to come back and see the creativity of the menu in a different season.
