4.8 star
Just want to be upfront, this is not a full 5 star review I will give 4.8 star for this restaurant due to a gap in the wait staff. The food is amazing and love the beetroot thing at the beginning. If given a choice, I will always choose a beetroot dish as it’s an unfriendly vegetable root that is not super well liked. However, I always find that beetroot dish allows the chef to show their creativity in food design and concept. Love the pigeon and it’s a must have. The team is flexible and allow us to change the veal flatbread to pigeon instead so this is an absolute PLUS. The piano dessert is cool. It shows the tenacity and creativity the pastry chef demonstrate in the dessert. It’s nice but I’m not a chocolate fan so I did not finish everything. There is a mistake by the junior wait staff. He poured Rayas Blanc into my glass which has some leftover champagne that I wanted to drink slowly. It is a new bottle and he did not asked if anyone wanted to try it. I think he is confused with the 3 bottles we ordered. He apologised and I asked for a new glass. He went to get me one and he never came back to our table. The head staff came instead and pour Rayas Blanc into the new glass. It is a little bit of damper on customer experience. Otherwise, it’s such an awesome dining experience with so so good food!

Nice place. Heartwarming welcome. Excellent meal. The St Marcellin with truffle, a treat. In short, happiness. THANKS

Traditional gastronomic meal of a very high level. Consistency of flavors from appetizers to desserts Well-balanced 3-course menu. Relaxed and friendly service, both at the hotel and in the restaurant. Wise advice for a simple glass of wine <> breathtaking breakfast, an affordable chef and a team who clearly feel at home in this prestigious establishment. Quite the opposite of certain great neighboring chefs whose marketing supplants culinary talent. A magnificent overnight stopover in a chic, sober and green setting that we will renew as soon as possible. Everyone, well done!

Very good quality of products. Magnificent setting. Fresh and tasty products. As the service is long, the organization should be reviewed at the service level.

A biggest killer of satisfaction is a high expectation. We visited the Restaurant La Pyramide during our trip around Rhone and our expectations were really high. While we visit good restaurants very often, it does not happen daily we come to a 2 star Michelin one. The start was not very good. It was summer evening, something around 28-29 degrees and menu was served outside. Definetely not a good idea as we were sweating even before we started to eat. We requested a Menu Pyramide with a wine paring and surprise surprise, there is no wine pairing available (in 2 star Michelin, in a wine region). You can choose whatever you want. The restaurant of this level should always seek perfection and I am expected to do the wine pairing without ever tasting any food or any wine in the offer. Then the first amuse bouche came. Very nicely prepared finger food, excellent taste, excellent food design. Loved it. Then they brought the bread which was delicious and a second amuse bouche, there was tuna and guacamole prepared in a way I've never had it before and it was marvelous. Then as a starter I order Crab Dormeur, a restaurant signature dish. Top food design, taste-wise it was nice but nothing extraordinary. Following fish, again, very good but nothing really special. Same is valid for following mushrooms. Good but nothing special. And the meat, pork in bacon, that was truely disapointing. The deserts continued in the same way, good but nothing extraordinary, neither from the taste nor from food design perspective. Now it is important to understand what we expected. If I compare this evening with a Ocean Restaurant in Portugal (also 2 star Michelin, I have review in here as well), it was not even close to that. 2 stars mean "it's worth a detour to visit while traveling". I am not sure here. And while we enjoyed the evening and while the food was really good, this was definetly not worth a detour. Maybe, if we had lower expectations, we would be more satisfied.

From the guidance to the parking lot, the reception, the attentiveness, the exceptionally helpful wine advice, the wonderful food, the owner/chef working the room at the end of the service, to the chit chat at the end of the meal, there was nothing that could have been done better.
Be the first to ReplyUnique 2 Michelin lunch experience
The experience began when sliding doors opened to enter the restaurant , we saw a modern 3 color set up based on black, white and yellow. Let the chef surprise you with a perfectly designed menu that includes balanced flavors, artistic plate presentations with a perfect paired wine offering. The well organized serviced included professional waiters explaining the menu in 3 languages: English, Spanish and French. An experience you deserve at least once in your life, in a magical city like Vienne.
Be the first to ReplyAn illuminating kitchen in a dark room
We were surprised by the choice of the owner of the place. The dining room is black, dark. My spouse had difficulties at the beginning of the dinner. But as soon service was beginning, we forgot the decor to appreciate the staff, so kind, the food so fine and a great choice of wine. I have always thought how difficult it could be for a Michelin judge to give 2 or 3 stars. Having stayed in several three stars, it was difficult to feel La Pyramide was rated later than other 3 * restaurants. The hotel is in accordance with the restaurant. Very moderne, vast room but a great service and staff very affable. We definitively recommend.
