I've never been to Italy so idk if La Scala has a strong Italian vibe, but it seemed like it to me. Felt like I could go right out back and play bocce, lol. It was packed when I arrived, lots of couples and families. Sat at the bar and enjoyed interacting with the hilarious bartenders and other patrons. La Scala's menu had a ton of options that were appealing to me, but I went with the special, snapper with asparagus. Additionally I had an espresso martini that was exquisite (and I'm NOT a cocktail drinker). The fish came with a small bowl of pasta, which I didn't eat until the next day, but it was excellent. The snapper itself was delicious and I'm pleased I had leftovers of it I also ate the next day. It was a great visit from start to finish. The owner even stopped by to say Hi! I absolutely shall return!
Disappointed
The restaurant was your typical lil Italy. Busy bar and you need a reservation. Our waiter was attentive but the food was not very good. Our pasta side dishes were over cooked, veal parmigiana was very heavily breaded and sauce was bland. My veal was tough and I only ate one piece. Had house salads and Caesar, tomatoes were under ripe and Caesar was over dressed. Caprice salad just okay. Calamari was tough also. So so disappointedβ¦.will not go back.
Dropped in for martini in little Italy.
Waiting for friends to get to suppertime. I felt like a fish out of water in here. Nobody too friendly nobody too welcoming. It's a pretty place with very little patrons and a "if you're not in the club, we really don't talk to you vibe". High price drinks, but shook my martini well.
You come for the amazing food and you stay for the service!
You come for the amazing food and you stay for the service! It's like the home of your favorite Italian family. I grew up in Jersey so I know a good Italian family! One of my favorite parts was that the menu was sealed shut so you had to break it open like a gift. Such a simple but special touch. We were sat quickly and given a run down of the specials. Our server Michelle was wonderful! She was knowledgeable, fun, and attentive. We ordered calamari and grilled octopus to start! Let me tell you the grilled octopus is a must have, buttery, garlic goodness. Next we had the grilled Cesar salad, warm and crisp. For dinner we had steak with crab meat and goodness, a pasta dish with cream (wish I remembered more) and we had the Branzino- light goodness. For dessert we got the chocolate cheesecake and a pistachio cannoli. All and all an amazing time and yummy eats! We will be back.

Everything tasted amazing and the service was wonderful! We went with a big group which can be hard to accommodate but the servers were so quick and always patient with us. The carbonara came with a runny egg on top with the most delicious creamy sauce. Everyone at the table seemed to really enjoy their meal. The candlelight, exposed brick walls, and white table cloths really brought me right back to Italy. Will definitely be back to try out the bacci ball court on the first floor (how fun?!).
Great meal and service in Little Italy
We had a wonderful family dinner at La Scala. The menu has an amazing variety of Italian dishes and the wine list had excellent choices. Our waiter Nelson was superb, with expert knowledge of the dishes and the most appropriate wines. Everything we had was wonderfully tasty and exquisitely prepared. Garlic shrimp over linguine, veal Marsala and I found the veal saltimbocca the best Iβve tasted outside of Rome. The desserts were also wonderfulβ¦.lemon sorbet, pineapple sorbet served in a pineapple as well as heavenly Tiramisu. We wish we lived closer to Bβmore to try the rest of the menu.

La Scala is a gem of Little Italy! We enjoyed bruschetta, salads, lobster and sea bass, amongst other dishes. Each of us were blown away with the excellence of our meals.... Danielle's service last night for our team was absolutely perfect! Chef Ninos creations were sublimely delicious... thank you for an amazing dinner experience in Little Italy!! Attached are pics of the sea bass, which the server preps table-side. Homemade pasta was to live for!
Let me start by saying the atmosphere was amazing.
Our servers energy and personality is what makes this place 5 stars. We had the grilled Caesar, calamari, and shrimp toast for our appetizers. I thought the Caesar was super tasty but felt like the calamari was quite bland. I ordered the linguine al pesto and added clams. It was out of this world good. I make my own pesto so I can be a bit of a snob. Their pesto was so flavorful and adding the clams added to the texture.

Most delicious espresso martini I've ever had! The menu is incredible, I can't wait to go back and try more. I had the Gamberi fra Diavolo, which was surprisingly spicy, but I loved it! The pasta is just amazing. Service was delightful and the atmosphere was a lovely for a birthday dinner celebration.
I love this place it has a great atmosphere nice people.
I TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visiting from Los Angeles and when I go to Baltimore for business, I ALWAYS have to make a reservation at Ka Scala. This time, I was in Baltimore for three days and I visited La Scala twice!! The food is excellent quality the service is excellent. I've always found the people who worked there pleasurable. Their service is very good and I like the layout of the restaurant, their Branzino fish is to die for!!!

So fabulous. While having a cocktail near the water our server over heard us discussing dinner at a restaurant other than La Scala. We asked her if it was good? She repliedβ¦.. β the best is La Scalaβ We called and got a reservation! IT WAS TRULY SOOOO GOOD,
Will return
We had a large family gathering for a college graduation dinner. LaScala accommodated us on a Wednesday night and the food was amazing. Our waitress was excellent (sadly I forgot her name) the chef greeted himself to us, and Santa paid a visit. The night was wonderful and I will recommend them all the time. I had the Samantha Fettuccine with Shrimp added, the other dishes we had was the Gnocchi with Shrimp and Chicken, Fettuccini with crab, and shrimp in white cream sauce, lobster and steak, Spinach Fettuccini with Vodka Sauce with chicken and medium spicy. Drinks were excellent as well.
La Scala was meh
My family wanted to take me here as they said it was one of the best restaurants in Baltimore. The service, especially the bartender was not really interested or engaged. The food was okay, but for those that cook, you are better off making it yourself. The ambience was disappointing. We all said we would not go back.Very average.
Not the best in Little Italy
We are Italians living in Baltimore. Now and then we try an Italian restaurant. This one is too americanized. Generous portions stuffed with garlic that we use quite parsimoniously in our country. Lots of herbs and spices to stimulate the dull palate of their clientele. The wine choice is unimpressive. I had a good fish, but nothing that you can't get everywhere in Fells Point. Overpriced. Not coming back.
A great dinner!!!!
Just a great dinner! If youβre in the mood for some great Italian cuisine, this is a must if youβre visiting Baltimore! Portions and price are very fair.
Still great after 5 years!
Our prior visit to La Scala was five years ago. Took us a little longer to get back than we had hoped. Just like the first time, it did not disappoint. Once again, we got to enjoy some bocce ball at the indoor court before, and after our meal. Traffic at the inner harbor caused us to be 30 minutes late for our reservation. They seated us right away but unfortunately only had a table upstairs, which is a much louder experience than downstairs. I prefer to be sitting right over the bocce ball court. It was extremely loud. Food, as expected, was excellent. However, our appetizers came out rather quickly, but then we waited over an hour for our entrees. At that point, we were hardly hungry. They had a huge party going on at night, and the staff was going 100mph all night. Lastly, Chef Nino is the best. I came all the way downstairs after dinner to say hello to us at the bocce ball court. Always a gentleman, and I canβt wait to go back to Baltimore for another great dinner from he and his team.
Amazing Italian food
Wonderful authentic quality food! We ate here on recommendations from two locals. Our food was high quality with generous portions. Tony provided great service. I had a charred caesar salad and the veal parmigiana. We sat on the patio. Overall a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend!
Good fish, but overall not impressed
It was okay as an Italian restaurant in Baltimore, even though it didn't particularly impress me. My husband and I ordered a crab soup and shared a whole branzino, served with pasta with tomato sauce as a side dish. The fish was tasty and well-cooked, but to our taste, the pasta seemed overcooked and rather bland. Waiting times have been a bit high - which did not come entirely unexpected for a baked fish. Still, if we had known in advance, we would have opted for more appetizers while waiting for the main course. I expected a more friendly and welcoming atmosphere, which I could not find there, even though our waiter was kind. We would have loved the chef (and owner) to visit our table at some point, but he seemed busier with other customers, so we didn't have the chance to meet him in person.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
