LaCiccia Honolulu Reviews from The Last Year
So far my favorite Italian restaurant on island!! Delicious
So far my favorite Italian restaurant on island!! Delicious appetizers and entrees. Service was great, ambiance was nice :) Parking has a nice lot
We ordered the Chicken Marsala, Seafood Pasta and a Mud Pie
We ordered the Chicken Marsala, Seafood Pasta and a Mud Pie for dinner. The food was delicious, however, my only issue was that the Seafood Pasta had little sand-like particles that added a weird cruch every bite or so. Their portions were quite generous and the plates also came with a soft bread and butter. The Mud Pie was the best snack after all that pasta. When I'm home again I'd definitely give this place another try... you should too.
Just tried for the first time.
Excellent service and food! I had Sicilian sausage entree olio style. Absolutely yummy! Will definitely go again.
Our first visit here was based on a recommendation and we
Our first visit here was based on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Went for an early Saturday lunch. The I parking lot on the side by the Post Office was a bit confusing. There were a lot of "tow signs", but our waiter Hironobu said not to worry and we were fine. Hironobu welcomed us nicely and go us seated. There are a lot of menu items to consider. I opted for the scallops & shrimps with "pink sauce"; it's a hybrid of marinara and Alfredo sauces. It was really good, seafood cooked just right and the bacon, mushroom and spinach in the sauce was a nice touch. I only wish that shrimp were a bit bigger, as they were on the smaller side. My wife chose the chicken saltimbocca, she said it was one of the better one's she has tried. Chicken breast was tender, the eggplant was thinly sliced and crispy. The crispy touch kept the eggplant from getting soggy from the Marsala sauce. It was topped with prosciutto, mozzarella cheese and mushrooms. Both of our fettuccine pastas were cooked a perfect al dente. We got a loaf of freshly baked bread and it's a great addition. We will be going back to try out some of the other entrees. We were so full that we could not consider any of the desserts.
Andiamo! A phrase that was frequently used when I worked
Andiamo! A phrase that was frequently used when I worked at an Italian restaurant and though there are many ways to use this word...all are directed towards La Ciccia in McCully. Where...?! Exactly located on South King Street as this hidden gem is quite hidden as it's easier to see the "open" neon sign which is right above the restaurant sign in the window and they are located between Glazer's Coffee and Bangkok Chef so yes there is a small parking lot and some street parking as well. Reservations is recommended as it's very cozy and not much seating though we did get lucky to arrive early enough to grab a seat. Probably about a dozen tables besides the bar top the inside decor is simple yet but nice and what's better...the menu! Love that they have some Japanese fusion here with Mentaiko Pasta, Natto Pasta and totally recommend Kinoko (Mushrooms in Japanese) Pasta. We started with the Fried Mozzarella Cheese $11 comes with four pieces and a side of marinara it was hot and fresh with insane cheese pull it was just a fresh bite that got our taste buds in heaven, along with a house bread served with a pat of butter with olive oil and balsamic vinegar though the bread was served on a trifold napkin the rustic vibe here is shrugged off as the prices makes it all worth while. We got the Kinoko Pasta which is a Japanese fusion and the sauce not noted on the menu is like a light shoe butter sauce which was so very light and compliment the mushrooms perfectly, the other is Eggplant Parmigiana and this insanely cheesy covered eggplant was done just right and it seems like the have just linguine shaped pasta which is straightforward and simple but the volume is quite impressive here as we couldn't finish it and took home about half of our entrees. The first house bread is free and it's +$2 for additional bread and for some appetizers like Clams Casino and Sicilian Sausage you can add pasta to make it an entree is a cool option for sure, this casual dining experience serves up some bougie dishes and love that there's this Italian option right here in my hood...Ciao! Thank you!
Superb!! Area and outside deceiving.
Park in front or free parking lot by tea/drinks place. Open at 5 pm sharp. Nice decor inside with tables or sit in bar area. Great service. Food was excellent. Husband had lamb chops and I had scampi over pasta. Sooo good! Meals come with loaf of bread. Arrive early or make reservations. V
Great service, delicious food, reasonable price.
Definitely one of the hidden gems of Honolulu
Don't you love a neighborhood restaurant that you can have
Don't you love a neighborhood restaurant that you can have a fancy girls night and also a family dinner in shorts and a tee? La Ciccia has an upscale, yet casual vibe that makes it a great choice for all occasions. Plus the food is great! I had the chicken sorrentino which was a generous portion of two pounded breaded chicken breasts with a delicious olive oil, mushroom and garlic sauce which I think they should bottle and sell. My friend had the pasta primavera in red sauce, which she enjoyed because of the great amount and variety of fresh veggies. Another friend has a gluten sensitivity and she brought her own gluten-free pasta. The waitstaff took it to the kitchen and they used that to make her clam casino pasta! She had a congestion-free sleep that night. lol. Their homemade bread is not to be missed. Crispy crust and pillowy soft inside. It's great with butter or with the olive oil/balsamic vinegar. The balsamic vinegar they used was really, really good. The bookends were also great. We had their crab-stuffed mushrooms for our appetizer. It had plenty of real crab meat and just enough breadcrumb binder to keep it from falling apart. It was delicious. And the creamy, chocolatey mudpie for dessert. It was a huge portion that the three of us together couldn't finish. Waitstaff were lovely and attentive without hovering. They really seemed to want to make sure we enjoyed our evening. We did!
TL;DR Solid Italian restaurant with Asian-influenced
TL;DR Solid Italian restaurant with Asian-influenced options ----- Ever since Paesano in Manoa Marketplace closed, I've been on the hunt for a replacement option. I enjoyed my meal at La Ciccia, but I'm surprised it has a higher Yelp rating than Paesano did. I'm certainly biased, but I found Paesano to be superior in just about every way. I made a same-day reservation on a Saturday and was able to secure a seating at 5:30pm for four. Please note there's tons of parking in the lot off of King St. The wait staff was OK. I wouldn't say the service was good, but it wasn't terrible. They might've been slightly short-staffed when we were there. My family and I had the house salad, hamachi carpaccio, and the crab-stuffed mushrooms to start. I had the chicken marsala as my entree, and my wife ordered the shrimp and scampi alla pink. Let me be clear: all the food was good (bordering on very good). But was it better than Paesano? Sadly, no. Everything from entrees all the way to the bread felt second-rate. I may return to La Ciccia if I'm seriously craving Italian food because it's so close to my home. But I will continue my search for a Paesano 2.0...

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
