Best I had!
This was by far the best restaurant food I’ve had since a week in Paris. I even went to a Michelin starred restaurant last night and prefer this place. I was dining alone and had the foie gras with buttery bread toasts and jam. The cod dish was especially what made me go “OMG” like I went to food heaven. Crepe brûlée also outstanding. Staff were efficient and polite. Unfortunately, I left my credit cards in my other purse!!! I was attesting so dashed over and paid. Embarrassing but I’m going back!!! Small place but unassuming.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent bistrot
This is one of my favorite Bistrot in Paris. Every time I travel to Paris I pay them a visit. Yesterday I had the shrimp and crab ravioli. Delicious. The main dish was very good, maybe a bit heavy on the cream for my taste. The cheese plate was excellent. Right now the 3-dish menu costs €48, very reasonable for the service and food you get. Ah, I almost forgot the bread and its crust…to die for.

Superb experience Excellent staff, wonderful food and wine The layout of the restaurant combines traditional brasserie with modern restaurant Top location to watch the paparazzi following Paris Fashion Show Wine was very good, G&T marvellous; but the beer was average

Lovely meal great service. Tried the fois gras which was delicious together with the lobster ravioli. Chicken in a creamy sauce was nice but would have preferred breast and no veg apart from a lovely creamy mash. The duck however was delightful.

I have been eating here for years and never had a bad meal. I just love the this type of food and their simple approach to service. There is no pretence, just good quality food served in a relaxed atmosphere. I love the idea of the layout of the seating and that you are never sure who you going to be sitting next too if it gets busy. Tremendous food at a good price. Love the place…😀

Very fine, small restaurant around the corner from Place Vendome - reservations are therefore essential. We had delicate ravioli filled with lobster for starters and duck breast with orange sauce and cod for mains - everything was absolutely excellent. For dessert we had warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream - a poem. 3 (really excellent) courses in the evening in the middle of Paris for a fixed price of €48 were absolutely fair and appropriate. L'Ardoise absolutely deserves the Michelin recommendation! It almost goes without saying that the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and very attentive service as well as a clear but good wine list. Conclusion: a wonderful evening all round!

We’ve managed to fit 14 people in here for dinner. Dinner was excellent, including scallops and great fish. There was a good selection of wine, and we chose Pouilly Fume which was great.
Be the first to ReplyThe best local small restaurant
We dined here 2 times in our one week visit in Paris. This place is so good and reasonably priced. Daily specials but closed on Monday ( we unfortunately found this out at our 3rd attempt to dine here before we departed to the US). Try this unique place and you will not be disappointed. I wish this place was in Chattanooga TN.

This is an incredible restaurant, excellent food at reasonable prices conveniently located a couple of blocks between the Westin, Duminy Vendome, and the Renesaissance hotel. Close to the Tuileries Garden and the Louvre. I make sure I go there at least once every time I'm in Paris! Atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Because the tables are close to each other, I always meet interesting people. And the owner/chef is always available. You'll have great memories from l'Ardoise!

Small and simple restaurant with very good food. We enjoyed the cold artichoke soup with goat cheese and fois gras - that was certainly different and delicious. Also had a salad with goat cheese pancakes. Scallops for the main were delicious, Inventive desserts as well. The only wine by the glass is a house wine.

We love it here. We stay at the Westin right around the corner and found this place years ago. A little tight, so we call to get reservations before we go, but if you can be flexible by a different night or a different time, you should be able to get in with smaller groups. It’s a price fix menu of three courses and it’s always lovely. Reasonable wine too…even our surly teenager loves it :-). Always on our list when we travel to Paris.

Great food in Paris. I had the ravioli and risotto and crème brûlée, it was fantastic!! I will visit again!
Be the first to ReplyBest meal I’ve ever had
Cosy Michelin-starred restaurant close to Tuileries and the Louvre. Simple, modern decor; welcoming and comfortable. Very reasonable fixed-price menu…get three courses and a glass of wine! Two of us enjoyed a full dinner for just under 100 euro total! Make a reservation or get there by 6 - they were packed on a week night. Ceviche - superb. Veal with potato puree - superb. Lamb roast with ratatouille - superb. Creme brulee - superb.

My daughter and I had dinner at this lovely restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it! The place is quaint and the service was wonderful. My daughter is picky and she LOVED her meal and mine! This is a must when in Paris!

After 11 years we finally made it back to Paris and to this wonderful family run restaurant. We were so pleased that they survived the pandemic. Just like our prior visits, we had a great meal and we enjoyed the warm atmosphere of this restaurant.

Be the first to ReplyWorst meal in Paris
We first went to L’Ardoise 20 years ago. We used to love it and would go every year, every time we were in Paris. Last night we had a terrible experience. We ordered a very basic entrée: entrecôte.
I started to feel unease when I saw my neighbor ordering the same entrée and struggling to cope with it!
The meat was just terrible. I couldn’t believe a restaurant in Paris would serve such a lousy quality meat: full of tendons which made it impossible to cut it.
The waitress got very upset when I complained and told her I just couldn’t eat it… She offered the Côte de veau. Surprisingly it was worse than the entrecôte.
It’s very sad but needless to say WE ARE NOT GOING BACK.
