Great dinner visit
In town for the Rose Bowl and ate here for dinner. All was great. Three of us got prime rib of different sizes and one got New York strip. Service was very good. I know they are known for their prime rib but the strip was excellent as well.

I checked dress code. Says business casual. No jeans. Tennis shoes. Customer's were wearing jeans, Tennis shoes & baseball caps. Dress code clearly not enforced. Once was a classy dinner experience. No longer. Will not be returning.
Be the first to ReplyGreat, but disappointing
We love Lawry’s and have been regular customers for over 30 years. I have been a VIP for years. This year I brought our whole family of 12 (3 generations) for Holiday dinner. The food was great, the Carolers excellent, and solid service. The reason no 5 star was that my wife accidentally left her prescription glasses at our table. We did not discover until we got home and I called customer service next morning. They said they would check and get back to me. I have heard nothing, meanwhile we find out that our granddaughter had to return to the restaurant to pick up some EarPods left by accident, and while there was asked if she left glasses on the table, she said she didn’t but likely was another member our family , and she could take the glasses. The waiter refused. After hearing this it seems likely the glasses were my wife’s but by the following day no one has any recollection. Just disappointing knowing the quality of Lawry’s.
Be the first to ReplySadly, VERY disappointing
LAWRY’S Beverly Hills has been a treasured family institution for our family for over 40 years. Unfortunately, our most recent meal/birthday celebration was very disappointing. The vaunted prime rib was tough, lacking in flavor and very salty. For over $125 pp, there are a lot of other options available in Los Angeles for discerning diners seeking fine dining and high quality meat. Definitely cannot recommend.
Be the first to ReplyLawry’s Destroyed a $150 Bday Cake
Lawry's destroyed a custom made $150 birthday cake in such a mean spirited way. Look at the photos. They then tried to blame it on our party of 14 in which 6 of us were attorneys, despite there being multiple witnesses and surveillance tape of us providing the male host with the cake open at a 45 degree angle. The manager gave a measly $200 discount but it ruined the night and vibe. Our group of 14 couldn't believe it, what kind of restaurant destroys a cake, especially in Beverly Hills. It's never happened. The faces on the picture were ripped off, so were the words, and the back top side was smashed and someone tried to put back the frosting. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped it on the ground. An all around disaster that left the person that brought the cake in tears. This is a poorly managed restaurant. I still left a $275 tip for the waitresses and paid over $1,500 total. We also had to wait nearly an hour for our reservation. What a train wreck.
Be the first to ReplyAs always Fantastic !!
I always visit Lawrys whenever I can. We usually sit at the bar, where the service is fantastic. We had Angel and Christine last evening, and they were tremendous. The food, well what can you say about the best prime rib anywhere, the phenomenal salad and the tremendous sides. Oh, can’t forget Yorkshire pudding! All I can say is fantastic food and service!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Dinner!
Lawry’s is overall always a great experience! The service is attentive, classy ambience and the food is excellent. It also has a good wine selection.
Be the first to ReplyStill great
I ate here for the first time in many years. The service was outstanding and the food was of the same quality I remembered. I always stick to prime rib so I cannot comment on other foods, but the quality is just as you order. I do miss the complimentary meatballs and they only give you chips in the bar if you order a drink.
Be the first to ReplyNasty unprofessional management.
Horrendous experience. “Management”, if you can call them managers, were belligerent, rude, arrogant and nasty. This so called “fine dining” experience is anything but. Although we had reservations, we waited 30 more minutes for our table. Then they seated us in a main walkway with a dirty dish cart located behind my chair. The slamming of dirty dishes was all I could hear. When I asked the main manager Peter to please move the cart he rolled his eyes at me. They then moved the cart near my husband and when he complained, a short bald manager nastily argued with my husband. They threw us out of the restaurant, all because we asked not to have a dirty noisy dish cart next to our table. Completely unprofessional and not customer oriented. May I recommend the Grill on the Alley for a TRUE FINE DINING EXPERIENCE. Lawrys Beverly Hills is on par with the decorum of a fast food chain. Even fast food chain don’t slam dirty dishes at your table and then argue with the customer. Appalling
Be the first to ReplyJust about perfect
We had not been in this restaurant for a number of years and, aside from the prices, absolutely nothing has changed. The food was delicious, the service perfect, and the atmosphere exactly what you would expect. Make sure to have reservations, because every table was full for dinner. A great, special place to go occasionally to celebrate or just have a very nice meal.
Be the first to ReplyThe Best Prime Rib I've Ever Had!
This review happened on March 2023. My wife and I have had this restaurant on our must eat list for a while now. So, we went on Sunday after shopping on Rodeo Drive. We both ordered the prime rib. I had the classic cut, and my wife had the California cut. The prime rib was amazing! I love prime rib and I've had it from a few other restaurants. I even had for our wedding reception. The Lawry's prime rib is the best I have ever had. I had it medium well and it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. You could tell immediately that it's a great cut of meat. My wife loved her California and agreed with me that it was juicy and flavorful. The creamed spinach tasted good, but the creamed corn was my favorite. The creamed corn was sweet and creamy, it complimented the prime rib really well. The mashed potatoes where creamy and the gravy was every yummy. I think it could have used more, but it was fine. The staff was very friendly and help full. They gave great suggestions, and they made us feel at home. The restaurants decor is very lovely. I love the classic look it gives off and you can feel the history of the restaurant. We loved out food and the experience and we will be coming regularly. I highly suggesting you stop by and eat the prime rib. It's definitely worth the visit.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food BUT...
Coming at the parking with the car, didn't expect valet service for taking care of the parking... Ok but that was just too much for us directly from the beginning. Excellent staff at the entrance. Guiding you to the table. Then we ordered. My wife took the lobsters and my cousin and I, the prime rib meals. He took the classic one and I wanted the biggest piece, but the very expensive prices forced me to go for the almost biggest one, next of the classic one. Lobsters was really really good. But when they served us with the prime ribs, we were absolutely disappointed about the size. That was clearly not a portion of meat according that prices range. So lots of fancy stuff to serving you these amazing steaks but kind of chocked witnessing our portions. Hopefully this prime rib was probably one of the best I've ever eat. We didn't take appetizers and deserts. As expected the invoice was very high, 230$ for these only 3 meals, 1 coke, 1 mocktail. I still wanted to eat a little more after that so really not a satisfying feeling seeing that much asking. We got back to the vallet, we were carefully prepared 5$ tip to give them, but they asked 9$. That was the last experience we had with this restaurant. Of course we are going on that places once per year, and this time it was my birthday. But we really feel that constant pressure on money and never satisfying about the food. We came for the food and not to see all of this rich world we absolutely don't care. We ate at cheesecake factory the night before, and the are so much more professional, the food is so much more generous and always always extremely good. Not to mention prices significantly lower! So thank you for the very good food but, never again.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice
Everything was perfect! (except the awaiting time even though we got our reservation, but we kept awaited for half an hour before we were seated. I guess because they might be sort of staff atm?) Fiona was our server today, and she is perfect! I love the lobster bisque so much that it is truly worth upgraded! The spinning salad is very good; they made it in a stainless bowl on an ice bucket, so the veg stays perfectly crisp! The steak is so tender thoroughly, and it goes well with the horseradish dip.
Be the first to ReplyNice Prime Rib, average atmosphere
We used to go to Lawry in Las Vegas all the time as we love to eat Prime Ribs. The Lawry in Los Angeles has the same quality of meat and the various side dishes that we love, nevertheless, the service was awful and very mechanical. Its like being in a factory where they serve meat to numbers. Anyway, we will return as this is where we can get this type of meat.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible experience tonight at lawerys Beverly Hils
Manager Peter is a disrespectful and egotistical person who tells me my $200 gift card is not being honored which I got dur to bad service on my birthday 3 years prior. Right at beginning of Covid and the put a year on the expiration date. I explained I was not able to use it during Covid due to underlying issues and the manger Peter so smug saying “your not a very nice person. Are you? I said no I’m not and didn’t escalate but what a condescending comeback to me being upset about the situation. I explained I couldn’t get out due to Covid for over 2 years. This was first opportunity to celebrate my sons birthday with my daughter in over 3 years. Peter the manager ruined my evening and I did everything to not escalate anything once he said those horrible things to me. Wrote corporate so see if they do anything about my disgusting experience with Peter the on duty manger.
Be the first to ReplyBar area
Went for a drink with my son & son in law had a lovely time but asked for the check and waited 10 mins then asked the bar man Gianni he said this is the bar and you have to wait for your server ! Waited another 10 mins ( we had a 6 week old baby) still no one came! Asked again if we could pay ! Again Gianni said sarcastically’ this is the bar and you have a server’ . Not impressed! And now getting very frustrated! Didn’t like his attitude and felt he should have been working in TGI Fridays! Not The Lawrys! Waited another 5 mins then someone came from behind the bar so we could pay! Think again Gianni before you open your mouth to be so rude to paying customers! Everyone knows the difference between a bar and a server ! You need to go out of your way to treat your customers! Unfortunately you don’t have it ! Livid !
Be the first to ReplySmall piece of Europe
I loved the ambiance. It’s a little piece of Europe elegance and you just want to spend your time with the positive energy, beautiful art, and wonderful service. The food is so good, you eat slow to enjoy every bite. The hubby had the prime rib and I had the house spin salad and we shared the Dark Chocolate Fantasy Desert. What made it special was Dea, our waitress was so helpful in choosing the right option in the menu so we didn’t over order. Not to mention she is sweetheart. Thank you Dea! Will return soon!

Be the first to ReplyAnother Careless Covid Casualty.
Another Careless Covid Casualty. A place formerly “casual classy” is a mere shadow of its former self. And it started off kooky. Hostesses given task of seating patrons were variably uninterested to unprofessional. I had a reservation and one diner who is over 95years of age. Place was empty (almost literally) and when we asked to be seated at a booth just one away from another party for social distancing, we were told that we could wait next to the table we wanted for 10 min while they did some “reconfiguring”, or take the table they led us to (in high traffic area and next to other party). I stated that the 95yo likely could stand for 10 minutes, and even if he could it made no sense whatsoever. They actually would not let us sit there and took us somewhere else. BTW - that table sat unused for our diner. Gone are the rolling prime rib carts. They keep them shrouded in the back and you no longer have any input to chef about your cut. Don’t get the English cut. One of us did and it was shoe leather. My Jim Brady cut was ok, but the tender peripheral well seasoned portion of the cut was mostly missing. Service was average (grade C). Uninspired, not unfriendly but certainly not friendly, and scarce. Spinning salad was skimpy. Highlight is their Welch rarebit - best I’ve had. But when your prime rib is below average, even a decent side can’t rescue the meal. Mash potatoes were good (B), mushrooms meh (C), creamed spinach solid (A-). Dropping hundreds of dollars for a meal should provide good memories and food - we got neither. Hope Lawrys can get back to their precovid selves before many decades long customers like us consider it a has-been
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and Service!
We ate dinner here on a Sunday night. The food was excellent. I will say the famous spinning salad was nothing spectacular but everything was great and we enjoyed our dinner.
Be the first to ReplyOUTSTANDING
OUTSTANDING!!!!! Service was perfrct. The Prime Rib was beyond outstanding. The Yorkshire Pudding was delicous. Drinks perfrct
Be the first to ReplyExceptional as always!
We took my nephew here to celebrate his Doctorate and even without the white glove silver cart tableside it was still exceptional. The waitress still made the traditional spinning bowl salad tableside. They have long been known for their prime rib so we have never ordered anything but that, they know how to prepare it better than any other place I have tried. I noticed some of the reviews here were disappointed in other items on the menu, which I would guess should not be a surprise, ordering fish here is like going to a sushi restaurant and ordering a cheeseburger. If you go here for lunch or dinner I recommend your biggest decision be between which cut of meat you want and what sides you like. I look forward to eating at a Lawry's and go out of my way to find them if they are in a city I am visiting.
Be the first to ReplyAwful is the word
The worst dinner ever. Al a carte wedge salad was not fresh .. ordered the CHILEAN sea bass, wHICH was not. A refrozen horror. Used to love Lowry but never again. Expensive and a place to avoid at all costs.
Be the first to ReplyThey charged for ice cubes!
We went wh friends for a trip down memory lane. Food was as expected but when the bill came we noted a discrepancy. Two of us had ordered Black Label, one neat and one with ice. The check showed one Black at $15 and the other at $18. When we asked our server, she turned red and said “we charge for ice cubes or rocks.” I had 3 cubes. Hence, the difference. How obscene and disgusting is that?
