LE BON GEORGES Paris Reviews from The Last Year
First impression was great- very authentic French bistro restaurant but very disappointing.
Place looks great but unfortunately we left unimpressed. The wine list was so big and the tables so small it was impossible to read without elbowing the people on the next table. This in itself would be fine but then the food was so overpriced it left us feeling underwhelmed. The wine we chose was like vinegar and the Ribeye steak for 2 was fine but at 140 euros should have been amazing. Won’t go back and would not recommend. P. S I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to save other tourists !!
Wonderful lunch in the 9th
Best meal of our trip! The food was wonderful and service was attentive and friendly. We need the recipe for the warm lentil salad to try to make it at home. But there is no way it will be a good. The tarte l’orange was wonderful along with the sorbet.
Most Disappointing Experience in Paris
The most disappointing experience in Paris. My wife and I had good dinner, then asked Benoit, the owner, for a digestive recommendation, which he suggested Benedictine, without telling us the cost and we unfortunately did not ask. When we got the check, he charged us 164 euros for the two digestives on a 295 dinner, which included two glasses of Pol Roger champagne and a bottle of Domaine Charvin Chateauneuf-du-Pape. He is not trustworthy person, he is a thief. Do not support his business. This has been the most disappointing experience in France and we have visited a lot, four time in the last year.

The place is recommended in most restaurant's guides, in all languages, as a real French Bistrot, and obviously attract tourists, mostly Americans. In fact, you won't see many locals...The food is OK, (no Michelin stars), but definitely overpriced to the point that you feel taken advantage from. 32 Euros ($36) for a soft boiled egg with a hint of truffle oil, as an appetizer. Main courses are around 48 to 52 Euros ($55 to $60), and more for steacks. Indeed, the wine list is very rich, the waiters are nice and the service is good. It is always crowded, even for lunch, and a reservation is necessary and recommended. If you don't care to overpay...
A place not to miss, must book
One of the best restaurants in Paris without doubt. We have been many times to enjoy the wonderful food, wines and service and owner Benoit always gives us a warm welcome.
Outstanding in every respect.
We had to adjust our reservation at the last minute; they were very accommodating. The service was professional and courteous. Our waitress was very helpful in interpreting and explaining the menu, which was entirely in French. She was also very knowledgeable about the wine list, which is exceptional and reasonably priced, especially for Burgundy lovers.

We really wanted to get in for dinner and we're disappointed. We only were able to acquire lunch reservations, but that disappointment ended with the first course. All of it I mean, all of it was absolutely amazing. We had a really great server, and as you can see by the photos below the food was outstanding. I highly recommend if you're in Paris, that you try to get a reservation at this place, the wine list looks like a Bible absolutely outstanding .
The person handling reservations and phone inquiries
The person handling reservations and phone inquiries displayed a high level of rudeness, resulting in poor service. This was particularly disappointing considering the recommendation from a friend.
Was so excited to try this place.
It really was just okay. I don't see what the fuss is about. I live in the SF Bay Area and eat out often. This place just didn't do it for me. Nice enough ambience. Great staff. Good wine. Fantastic neighborhood. But very expensive and food lacked in flavor. Sad.
The food was very delicious! Service was fast and on point.
The ambience was perfect, we sat inside.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
