So I know that this place has a Michelin star and I am
So I know that this place has a Michelin star and I am supposed to love it, but after considering it for a bit, I'm going to go with just 3. I will say that others in our party enjoyed it more, and may have given 4 or even 5 stars. We had reservations for our large party (8 -- 4 adults, 4 teenagers), and arrived just a few minutes before our reservation time at 7pm. The restaurant opens at 7, so we had a chance to explore the boutiques inside the 4 seasons. The 4 seasons is a really high end hotel in a high end neighborhood, and conspicuous wealth was everywhere -- ferraris in the valet parking area set the stage. For my middle class American tastes, it all just felt a bit pretentious and over-the-top, honestly. When we sat down to dinner, the ambience is of course fancy, but also felt a bit cold and uninviting to me. We started with an amuse-bouche, which were small shrimp from Spain that were dried (maybe fried?) in salt. They were tasty! They also brought out some bread.Because we had the teenagers with us, as well as an adult with some diet restrictions, we ordered ala carte. I think if I were going with only adults without restriction, I would prefer the prix fixe menu -- however they didn't want us to mix-and-match that at the table, which I understand. The drink selection is limited, but of course high quality. I had an aperitif, and then later my friend ordered some grappa with dessert, which was strong and very good (I'd not had grappa before, but I enjoyed it).The food was mixed. Let me start with the real dud. The lobster salad, priced at 50 € (!!), was really disappointing. Just some iceberg lettuce, a small bit of lobster, and a mediocre vinaigrette. Totally skip that.Other food was much better. The oysters in particular were amazing. They were I think 22 € for four, and they were so good we ordered more. They may have been the best mignonette flavor I have ever had.The pumpkin soup was also very good, and I really enjoyed the sole. The sole is served in a citrusy light sauce, with vegetables on the side.Overall the food was very good -- with the salad disappointing. But it was not the best food I've ever had, and honestly I expected it to be really good, given the price and the Michelin star.If I were making a recommendation, I would suggest that you go here if your primary objective is to enjoy a nice night out on the town in some over-the-top conspicuous displays of wealth. If you are after great food and a good time with friends, you can probably find a much less expensive option that isn't located in the Four Seasons.

My wife and I came to Le George during our trip to Paris and were quite impressed. We both had the tasting menu and Le George was kind enough to have a vegetarian tasting menu ready to go for my wife. The ambiance at the restaurant is contemporary but tasteful so it doesn't feel stuffy and overdone with white table cloths and all. It was sophisticated and well put together. Even the music had a little beat to it and didn't put you to sleep. Both of our tasting courses were wonderful and we enjoyed almost every dish minus one - Tart Tatin of Candied tomatoes with Cacio and Pepe Ice Cream. This was tomatoes with ice cream cheese.......not good at all. I see what the chef was going for with sweet and savory but big miss for both of us. Everything else on our tasting menu was amazing, the starter of tuna and yellowtail, pumpkin soup, lobster spaghetti and the veal all amazing! The only issue we had, other than the one candied tomato dish, was that near the end of the night, we were kind of forgotten about. The restaurant has two seating's, one at 7PM and the other at 9PM. We were finishing up our dessert and wanted to get some espresso and then slowly make our way out to our next engagement. However, our table and some others all got forgotten in the rush of seating and starting the new tables. We waited 15 minutes just to order an espresso, and then another 20 for a check. This waiting was all after we had already requested these things from our waiter, but there was confusion even as to who our waiter was, they changed throughout dinner. In the end it felt like they dropped the ball at the very end. For a fine dining establishment, one would expect more. Overall, Le George is a good restaurant with good food and atmosphere and worth a visit.

This place is really bad now - I have had several small events here and it was always amazing. Over the last few years it has really gotten horrible. The security at the bottom is beyond rude - the entire team makes you feel like you should not be there. I have tried it several times over the last few years and I am now done with this restaurant- there are a billion better options in Paris - this place should close down and reinvent itself with new management and new staff.

The food here is just okay for the price you can go to much better places. Service is very messy here. We didn't have a server just a bunch of people we had to flag down to help us. No one took our food order we had to ask for someone to put it in. We had to ask for things multiple times as requests were over looked.

My husband and I did the tasting menu for dinner on a recent trip to Paris. We wanted to splurge a little on a Michelin star restaurant without breaking the bank and felt $95 Euro pp was very reasonable. The setting facing into the courtyard was gorgeous! There was so much food I wish I hadn't filled up as much on bread. They were very accommodating with a vegetarian "flavors" menu for me and regular one for my husband. I had tomatoes with fresh herbs and oil to start, tomato strawberry gazpacho with burrata, and a truffle spinach salad. It was all delicious. They only thing I was disappointed by was some bland vegetables with a pesto sauce on the side. Meanwhile, my husband let me taste his caramelized tomato tartine which would have been a wonderful swap because it was omg heavenly. My husband enjoyed his ceviche and goat with a creamy green apple roasted celery purée that was divine (looked like mashed potatoes). For dessert they brought us a superb creme brûlée cheesecake with raspberry ice cream and a surprise tiramisu for my birthday!

This was the best dining experience I've ever had in my life and I have dined all over the world. The food is exquisite and the service is outstanding.

The food and wine were to die for. The prices are unbelievable and unbeatable. Le George you've really set the bar!
Be the first to ReplyThis was the shocker of my stay in Paris.
This gluten free friendly restaurant is everything one might enjoy from a French restaurant and more. When I advised the waiter of my gluten intolerance he came back 5 minutes (at most) later with gluten free bread (+ butter). I almost cried having been given such a gesture in a traditionally modern establishment. I highly suggest the filet with bernaise sauce and purée of potato. Wonderful experience with amazing views.

. I came her to celebrate the proposal with my now Fiancé. It was the first of three different Michelin starred restaurants we visited in Paris. The wine pairing was great. They do not have a set menu, but the wine's provided were all great. The food was also great. We did the tasting menu and every bite was unique in taste, texture, and experience. Highly recommend the tasting menu if it is your first time dining at Le George. 36 Hour goat is delicious.Service was honestly a huge let down. Since this was the first restaurant we ate at in Paris we thought that maybe that was the expected norm as far as service goes in Paris, but we never had anywhere nearly as uninterested and unkind than at Le George, while in Paris. Don't come here expecting the kind of service you may receive at a Michelin rated restaurant in New York or San Francisco, but go in expecting a very fun and tasty menu and you will enjoy it. Price really wasn't that bad considering the quality and amount of wine and food.Food was probably a 4/5Wine 4/5Service 1/5Overall: 3.6 rounding up to 4 since we don't have a half
Be the first to ReplyVery unpleasant experience in this place.
The food is ok. Expensive food but no special taste. It was Christmas, there was a decorated pool in the small garden. The floor was slippery but no dangerous sign. My friend fell into the pool and got totally wet. The staff just stood there and watched us. No one was helping us. When the manager came, she was very cold and did nothing to help us. Four season? I will never go any Four season again.
