Lobby Bar at Hotel Chelsea New York Reviews from The Last Year
Small size, big service and amenities
The rooms might be small, but the service was outsized! We appreciated the warm welcome, friendly staff, and amenities, like free coffee at the cafe, lovely soap/shampoo, and happy hour. The space is small (but not as small as other NYC hotels we've stayed at) but really thoughtfully designed and appointed. We stayed for just one night - wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it even more.
Lovely stay
We loved our stay and the hotel was perfect. Beautiful room with a fantastic view where we stayed for 4 nights, a family with 2 teenage daughters. We all loved the interiour design that has a very modern scandinavian feel to it. Nice shower. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of everything. We walked a lot during our stay and could then rest and sleep well at Made to be fit for the next day. Thank you!

Expect to pay $25 - $30 for cocktails here (plus tax and tip) but they have really interesting and inventive cocktails and a great vibe. The remodel has really transformed this into a stunning space that I like to take out of town friend to if I want to impress. It can get very packed but the wait is never as long as they say it will be (we mad the mistake of ordering drinks next door because they told us it would be 45 minutes, but it was closer to 10). Can't give it 5 stars due to the obscene pricing, but have never been disappointed here.
The location was well worth the price! Cannot say enough
The location was well worth the price! Cannot say enough with how peaceful and quiet the room was, how amazingly comfortable the bed was, and how the hotel guest service was top notch! The AC worked great and the complimentary turndown service with bedtime potions (melatonin juice) and water were such great touches. Literally just a 20min walk to Times Square, or a quick 7-8 minute subway ride (btw, you can pay using the subway with a credit card). The interior of our room was so cool! The hotel bars fill up fast, so get down there early. This place is such a gem- you won't regret booking here!
The right mix of comfort and style
Three days of staying with Made left me relaxed, rested, and feeling at home. The chill global decor brought the right mix of comfort and style. The lobby cafe and bar provided the right vibe morning and night, and I even visited the restaurant— Debajo— twice and ordered the same exact thing b/c it was so delicious. Thanks Made, for making my new favorite NYC hotel.
MADE Hotel NYC exactly what I was hoping for!!
Wonderful 3 night stay at the MADE hotel. Came to town with my teenage daughter to check out colleges. Has super cool vibe- very boutique feeling. Rooms are small but furnishings and gorgeous tiled bathrooms, luxuriously comfy bed all make up for the size. Loved having great coffee and tea available 24 hrs a day and had lattes and pastries downstairs at the coffee place every morning, sitting at the large window seats taking in the natural light. Super staff- friendly and over the top to make our stay amazing- especially the staff in the early morning. The hotel is in wonderful location- close to subway/Penn Station, which we used a lot. (recommend eating at Her Name is Han- just a short walk, make reservations)
GREAT STAY AT THE MADE HOTEL
Just finished a 5-day stay at the Made. Took my husband to NYC for his birthday. I don’t usually post reviews but I wanted to because the hotel and its staff were so great. It is Manhattan, so rooms are on the small side but do not feel cramped. Platform king bed was wonderful, floor to ceiling windows, funky and functional décor, and big bathroom. We were extremely comfortable. Lobby has a great coffee bar in front and regular bar in back. Busy laptop scene. Rooftop bar was great. Indoor and outdoor seating, and fantastic views of the neighborhood. Staff accommodated every request, and even left a bottle of prosecco for us because of the birthday. We love cool, downtown boutique hotels. The Made is our new one in NYC.
Really glad I spent a few extra bucks to stay here for
Really glad I spent a few extra bucks to stay here for three nights, rather than save a bit in some crap Sheraton et al, and spent a few bucks more for a balcony room (worth it). Still, for what you pay (which is plenty) you get a lot. Turn down service, plenty of other small amenities, and atmosphere for days. The building is simply stunning - marble, wrought iron, old tile fireplaces, marquetry designs in the parquet floors, a 50s Motherwell knockoff in my room, etc. The bar is so inviting and cozy that I stayed way too long and drank (and spent) way too much. Ate twice in the cafe which has the vibes of a pre-War Parisian cafe, and conveniently caught a comedy show at the Gotham next door. There's a great diner 1/2 block away, and most other amenities are close by. The art in the halls is frankly all pretty awful - I presume it's from all the forgotten crap artists who lived here over the decades and couldn't pay for their rooms. I'm sure there are masterpieces in the hotel collection, but those obviously aren't going to get hung in the stairwells. But it all adds character. The Chelsea location is great for getting anywhere in Manhattan. Staff are generally super friendly. It's a really quirky mix of casual elegance that is totally unique. I just loved it. Wish I could stay a month.
Lovely staff, cool decor, comfy stay, good location
On arrival (and throughout) staff were very welcoming, attentive and helpful. We were greeted with smiles and an interest in where we were from/what our plans were. They even booked us in for an extra day as we’d made a mistake on dates, without any hassle. The coffee shop, bar and rooftop bar are all great and have plenty of selection. Tasty drinks, standard pricing and a beautiful view of the city from the rooftop. We had a balcony room on 12th floor. Unfortunately we didn’t have any furniture on the balcony so it was just a case of popping out and looking at the city go by, but still fun to do. The bed was huge and very comfy. There was access to a few snacks at cost of a minibar and, drip coffee was available free of charge from the coffee shop but none in the room itself/no fridge either. My partner did try get us coffee early one morning but he had to wait for things to be set up as it was apparently a little early. This was sorted very quickly for him though. The bathroom was everything you’d need. One thing I would say is that the lighting and layout of the mirrors made it hard to get ready in the mornings (make up was difficult to work out due to there not being any bright lights near mirrors). We could also hear the noises of other bathrooms and clothes hangers but we feel this is typical of most places so wasn’t a concern for us. The location was great. We walked everywhere the first few days- Central Park, Maddison square gardens, Madison park, top of the rock, etc. very close to several subways too. We will definitely be recommending Made to friends and family.
Hidden gem!
Zen vibes! Wonderful experience. Clean, impeccable! Staff was very warm and hospitable. This place is a hidden gem! Location is perfect, walkable distance to all great resturants. I will definitely be returning. Thank you for the great experience!
Great boutique hotel, great location,
Choosing a hotel in Manhattan can be overwhelming with the amount of options- but Made really stood out to me and didn’t disappoint! I usually prefer boutique hotels with more thoughtfully curated spaces, and Made delivered! Super location with really friendly staff- Clean, well appointed rooms- Great coffee shop in lobby! Will definitely return next time I’m in New York!
My go to place now in NYC
Overall amazing experience whenever I stay here. Rooms are cozy, roomy and I thoroughly enjoy the wood-themed feel. Coffee and tea in the morning are great as are those ridiculous almond croissants and had great elevator conversation with someone who I believe pronounces her name as Yankee who works there and is an absolute gem. From check in to check out I've felt incredibly welcome and comfortable here.

Super comfy bed, very courteous and helpful staff, beautiful vintage chic decor, and close to the Metro and excellent restaurants.
Lovely NYC Hotel
Loved my stay at MADE! Chaz at the front desk was very helpful with accommodating my quiet room request and provided me with the coziest studio on the 12th floor. Any request I made while staying was answered with kindness. Coffee in the morning was great, as were the Malin and Goetz bath products. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the decor of the room was warm and grounding. The location is excellent - close to Penn Station, as I was arriving by train - and a nice walk to Union Square. It is also very close to multiple train lines which made it easy to get further downtown. I truly hope to return to MADE for my next NYC visit.
The only place we ever want to stay in NYC.
The attention to detail in design is outstanding. Thoughtful touches around every corner. The restaurants and bars are elegant, delicious, and friendly. A really special place and worth the money. The location is perfect to get to anywhere in the city and the unique history of the hotel adds a level of mystique and glamour. A very special mention to Michael and Marissa at the front desk who were so kind and generous during our stay! This hotel should be on everyone's list to try and, as a travel agent, it will be an easy sell to my groups and individual clients. Highly recommend!
Impressive remodel that has created an authentic nod to the
Impressive remodel that has created an authentic nod to the legend that is The Hotel Chelsea. We stayed in a huge suite (10-Y) which was authentically appointed. A couple kinks still being worked out on the service side but those were quickly and proactively rejected with comps at The Lobby Bar and Cafe. We will most certainly return. The Lobby Bar and the Cafe Chelsea are lovely New York establishments in their own right.
Our stay was perfect in every way.
Old world elegance with modern conveniences. Great location to enjoy NYC. The staff is consistently helpful, responsive and attentive.
Below average in every way.
It's not in the main hotel. It's dingy with subpar mattress and bedding.

I have lived in Chelsea for almost 40 years the hotel has always been in my heart I hated that things were changing but happy to see them keeping the essence of the hotel and had room for us regulars at the lounge since you can't get a table at el Quijote or cafe Chelsea unless you are staying at the hotel or an American Express platinum card it's almost impossible to get a Rez so it was nice having the lounge to go to for a drink and a burger for us regulars who have made Chelsea and that hotel what it is today they stopped making the burger instead you can get a crappy turkey sandwich they obviously don't care about the community that built them only for the rich clientele they cater to its very sad we lost something very special to us New Yorkers at least they have a wonderful staff especially the hostess Shania but you lost the soul of the Chelsea RIP

This hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing!! We were coming to NY from Las Vegas to elope and truly received the star treatment at this hotel! From the amazing front desk that checked us in early and upgraded us to the most fantastic room, to the bottle of wine and note they left, to the bellman that made us feel like old friends, to the amazing hosts, bartenders in each of the restaurants.... I felt like I never wanted to leave! I wish I had asked for more names of the staff that gave us amazing service, but just know that I will stay here time and time again. The Hotel Chelsea... the best hotel in NY!

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
Newbie sellers— how fast do your reservations sell?
I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
