Be the first to ReplyPlease try the Pasta al Limone!
Really great. We had the Carne Crudo for an appetizer… so good!! We had the pasta Al limone and the shrimp Diavola pasta. Both were great… the limone was spectacular!!! Like I had in Milano. Oliver was our bartender/waiter, really great service! I want to go back and try the highly recommended chicken next time.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Modern Italian Restaurant (Super Service!)
Chic but welcoming Italian restaurant on a lovely pedestrian-only street. It has a neighborhood feeling despite the minimalist décor and beautiful-people lighting. I arrived only an hour before the kitchen was set to close on a busy Saturday night and without a reservation: no problem even though the place was packed and no rush. I was encouraged to take my time deciding and enjoying the space and meal. Excellent food, well prepared, plated, and presented. Everything I had was super fresh and prepared to order even though (as noted) the kitchen was scheduled to close shortly. That is some fine restaurateuring right there! The entrees are large enough for sharing but—and this is a testament to the quality of the ingredients and preparation—you won’t feel stuffed after the meal. Nice drinks menu with several tasty takes on Negronis. Outstanding professional, considerate, and engaged service. I always appreciate servers and tip well. The job is more challenging than many diners think. Even if the service is mediocre, there's no reason to get chintzy with the server when you are already paying hefty markup on food and alcohol for the privilege of dining out. But Casey and her colleague Robert stood out and made dining here a pleasure and I am glad to mention them here. If I lived in Miami, I would be here weekly.
Be the first to ReplyWoweeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Buzzed from dining here it was excellent!!!
Woweeeeeeeeeeeeee! I’m typing from the Uber home….. So hubs and I travel the world experiencing some of the best restaurants there are, we aren’t easily pleased. This place hit the spot with every dish, packed with flavour from start to finish! We over ordered as we like to sample all sorts but every single dish was phenomenal!! Casey our waitress was brilliant, very knowledgeable & personable! Don’t skip dessert it would be a huge shame to miss out the on the pistachio mousse! Will add this to our list of must visits every time in Miami!
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian restaurant in Miami?
Whenever my wife and I travel, no matter where or when, we always have to book a reservation at an Italian restaurant, just to see how other cities compare to what us snobs in Chicago think if great Italian cooking. Growing up in a house where her grandmother and mother ruled the roost in the kitchen, my half-Italian wife loves to sample spaghetti, lasagna, risotto, ravioli, pizza, pasta and Osso Bucco all over the country. Me, too. And I grew up in a home where my father loved to make spaghetti with his own recipe. So we had to sample the goods at Luca Osteria in Coral Gables, Florida, which has a reputation as the best Italian ristorante in Miami. Is that an oxymoron? Italian cooking in Miami? No, Luca Osteria is serious Italian cooking. Located at 116 Giralda Avenue, a pedestrian-only street, it is open from 5:30 to 10 Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 5:30 to 11 on Friday and Saturday. We started with marinated olives, prosciutto and panzanella, a chopped salad with heirloom tomatoes, olive oil croutons, green basil, dijon mustard, red wine vinaigrette and sourdough bread. For an entree, my wife chose a Nieman Ranch Farms lamb shank, allowing 40 minutes to prepare, with roasted potatoes, red wine, crispy herbs and pumpkin seeds. It was worth the wait. Meanwhile, I opted for a 10-ounce prime beef tenderloin with potato fritte and vino rosso. For dessert, we shared tiramisu and vanilla panna cotta. If Luca Osteria isn't the best Italian restaurant in Miami, it has to be in the conversation.
Be the first to ReplyVery Nice
Good service and nice outdoor seating on a pedestrian-only street lined with retail shops and other restaurants. Portions are enormous and delicious sauces but it was almost too much e.g. glazed carrots w/ sauce and huge amts of grated parm cheese on the little gem salad. I think they could use a lighter touch. The focaccia was wonderful but disappointed in the house wine- should've ordered a bottle or something else. We would go back if in the area again- overall, a good option.

Great meal. Superb service. Loved the outdoor seating vibe on Giralda. Fra Diavolo was my favorite dish. Mushroom side was very tasty.
Be the first to ReplyUnique recipes, amazing service
AMAZING. I had the best espresso martini of my life. The people at the bar here are incredible. They were real deal mixologists. The service from our bartender was incredible-- so nice, explained everything, and wasn't overbearing. We loved the tuna caprese. More upscale environment with families and dates.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Restaurant.
We had one of the best Italian dinners we’ve ever had . Very high end, creative chef and lovely dishes coming out of the kitchen. We ate outside at a nice kind of secluded table. Very nice wine list at reasonable prices. Servings large and some dishes easily shareable. Everyone wanted to try each other’s. Each one different from many we’ve had before. On a nice pedestrian walk area. Kind of pricey but we never worry about that if value and food top end, excellent service too.

Every time we have a guests from ouof town we always take them to Luca Osteria, the food is delicious and consistent. And of course service by Kevin is Amazing. Starting from the Hoastess Shellys Martinez and Maya to our Favorite server Kevin the service is exceptionally amazing. Once you try the food you would want to go Every week.
Be the first to ReplyBest pasta ever.
Best pasta ever. I have been in Italy many times but the pasta of Osteria Luca is the best I have ever had. Specially the pasta caccio e Pepe is excellent. Alsothe location in a very cosy, Southern Europe like street is perfect.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Sunday night dinner
A perfect Sunday night dinner - not able to make reservations for one person, but was able to snag an inside table as long as I could be done in 1.5 hours, which is not an issue! Wonderful server Joseph I believe was very welcoming - a comfortable restaurant and full of life - started with a Luca Salad and Focaccia - both delicious and very large portions - then Pappardelle with Short Rib Ragu and ending with the Pistachio Semifreddo - a perfect meal and loved the many spritz cocktails on the menu and tried the Florida Spritz rather than my usual Aperol. Will definitely return if my travels take me to Coral Gables again!

My wife and I had an outstanding meal here the other day. Started with a flat bread that was insanely good. Had pistachio and fig on it We then shared the short rib bolognese that was perfect. A great bottle of wine and outdoor seating made for a perfect evening. I will add that inside the restaurant was very noisy. Sit outside if you can.
Be the first to ReplyYou have to try this place!
My husband and I went here for the first time and it was beyond our expectations. The food was authentic, wine was on point and the customer service was extraordinary! Jordan gave us excellent recommendations and was very attentive the entire night. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely return when I am in Miami.

Everything we had was amazing. Started out with amazing drinks. Highly recommend the Maria Rosa if you like a bit of spice, Contigo was excellent too similar to old fashioned but not as sweet. Appetizers the frittate is out of this world and the grilled carrots were excellent too. Tried 2 pasta dishes that were excellent. Shrimp diavolo had a bit of heat to it and was delicious. We also tried their newest pasta which was butternut squash so a little sweet with pistachios on top for excellent texture. Desserts the Panna Cotta was amazing and espresso martini is the best I've had.
Kara was our server and the best I've ever had in the area, explained everything patiently and all her recommendations were spot on.
I enjoyed the food and atmosphere
We decided to book because my husband had visited a few months ago and enjoyed the homemade pasta and ambiance. I did as well. Kara waited on us. Excellent service. Her coworkers - bartender, busboy were equally pleasant and professional. Quick service, always a smile, never cheesy. The cocktail selection is inventive. I started with a Rosa Maria- a pepper infused gin and grapefruit liqueur martini. Homemade paparadelle is perfectly al dente. Had a few more dishes, all very nice. The panna cotta on burnt caramel sauce with biscotti is so creamy/ the perfect consistency. I’ll definitely book again. The courtyard under the trees outdoor dining is both beautiful and in a safe, quiet part of Coral Gables.
Be the first to ReplyTwo nights.. one perfection another a disaster
Two different nights two different experience… Saturday night WONDERFUL… what made it most wonderful was the staff specifically Kara and Alejandro. I have life threatening allergies and Kara made me feel comfortable as she made sure the meal was smooth and no ingredient I am allergic to made it’s way to our table. Kara is a top notch server, and Alejandro who is the kindest busboy we ever had made our night.
Night two.. Sunday… service was tragic our waitress an absolute disaster, luckily Alejandro was there to smooth things a bit over.. however, we won’t be returning.
Food is good, truly good Italian food so cannot give it a bad rating, however, word to the owner if you want to have a quality place don’t hire waiters that don’t care for human life and Sunday night staff being tired is not an excuse.
Low customer service
Low Custumer service we actually didn’t ate because we wait around twenty minutes before the waitress come to us and we decided to leave
Be the first to ReplyDysfunctional service
Firstly, I hardly ever write non positive reviews and never of an Italian run enterprise, for a culinary sense of patriotism. But there is always a first.
I want to preface that the food we DID manage to eat at this place was quite decent.
Unfortunately one of the pastas we ordered for our 4 top table was only delivered about 20 minutes after the other 3 pastas. While we were warned that there could be a slight delay in the pasta dishes coming out no one mentioned that the pastas would be delivered 20 minutes apart. Keep in mind we went at 5.30 pm with about 20% of the restaurant seated. When I asked why the cacio and pepe was delivered 30 minutes after my own pasta with clams, the answer was that the pastas are made on the spot, as if that is a valid excuse. Then I was offered a second reason, which is that a dish of pasta clearly intended to be a single serve is meant to be shared. I'm from Italy and I don't know of any Italians that would dream of mixing a pasta with clams with a cacio and pepe in one single meal. It would be nauseating.
Not sure why the staff cannot deliver pasta dishes simultaneously. It baffles me... I even asked to talk with the Italian manager, but he wasn't gracious enough to show up and explain why he can't serve 4 dishes of pasta together. That will remain forever as the Luca Osteria mistery to me !! Surely we will never go back and I'm expecting this place to fold within 12 months if they persist with this type of spotty service.
The food was delicious. Appetizers,
The food was delicious. Appetizers, the oso buco, pasta amatriciana and the chicken to my surprise. The panacota, exquisite.
The service very nice and correct.
I do recommend to observe and install some insulate since I found it a little noisy.
I’m sure will do.
Food was great.
Not Living Up To The Hype
Five of us had dinner on a Wednesday at this hard to reserve, fairly new restaurant in Coral Gables. The particular problem was the service protocol which had nothing to do with the very accommodating server. He told us each dish is prepared separately and would come out at different times. This just doesn't work. One diner got her food within 15 minutes; another couple about 45 minutes later and the last couple about 30 minutes after that. So the majority of the time we simply watched as our fellow guests had their meal. All told, the dinner lasted about 2 3/4 hours. This is the first Italian restaurant where bread isn't served with the meal and the server never asked if we wanted any. Also, no salt and pepper on the table and, again, we weren't asked if we wanted it. Pasta dishes start around $26 so, at that price, it should be something special. It wasn't! Likewise for the scallops and osso bucco. A 20% gratuity is automatically added to the check.
