Disappointment
We have waited for a very long time to have dinner here. Unfortunately, we were somewhat disappointed. Service was excellent and the menu (and specials) was very nice. Our meals were brought out and were tasty. They were not what we expected in terms of quality. Couple that with what I feel were high prices and you understand my feeling. We probably will not return. The view of the lake was wonderful. Desserts were ordinary.
Be the first to ReplyJapanese Wagu Beef is a rare treat.
Lucia's is the only restaurant (that I know of) in Western New York that offers imported Japanese A5 Wagu beef, usually both filet mignon and rib steaks. During the Covid Pandemic my girlfriend got filets for my birthday as takeout. I had not had Wagu beef since I visited Japan years ago. The beef at Lucia's was perfect, melt-in-your mouth, delicious. When we returned for dinner more recently, I had to have the filet again. It was wonderful; cooked rare as I ordered and accompanied by sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, and whipped potatoes. It's very expensive, but worth it.

The service was excellent, the waiter was knowledgeable, pleasant, attentive and personable. The food was fantastic. The salads - beet for him and fried goat for me - were huge and should have been shared. He had the crab pasta dish which was also an enormous portion and very rich. I had the small filet which was cooked perfectly and there were choices of sauce. Mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked green beans came with the filet. We took portions of each dish home. There was a wonderful dessert menu but we were too full. We did not have a reservation but got there at 4:00 and we were seated.

Recommend coming a few minutes early to have a drink at the bar. Danny was friendly and helpful is offering suggestions. The meal..what can I say? Pics say it all. Fresh, flavorful and you have to end the night with the Brimley for dessert or take home and indulge in private. Kate was on point as our server. Gracious and knowledgeable. Can't leave out Quinn, who smiled every time she filled our water glasses. And she was there a lot! She deserved a tip as well. Lucia's is a dining experience that should not be missed!
Be the first to ReplyLove This Place….But
Went for dinner last night a Lucia’s on he Lake. The food is very good……in fact it’s the 5th time I’ve been there in 6 months. It’s pricey….but did I mention that the food is good. Last night we had a server that was by far the worst we’ve ever had. There were six of us, so she knew she was going to get 20% no matter what. She kept on trying to upsell so our already high bill would be even higher. Then, on top of all that, she made a huge mistake on the bill which cost one of the couples almost $150 more! Fortunately they discovered it today and I’m sure it will be taken care of. But, her $79 tip became much more. I don’t think she did it on purpose, but the whole night I found myself fighting off her suggestion selling. I knew what I wanted and I didn’t want to be sold something else. When I go back she won’t be a person I deal with.
Be the first to ReplyGood but felt like we were rushed to go away
Love the place and the food. I will say there is a push immediately to get you fed and out the door like no other place I have been to. And I am 60 and have traveled on business nationally for decades. Five stars for food but they get 3 because the last four times we are there we felt in a hurry up mode. Tonight we went there, four of us, and I told our table in advance that they will work to get us served and out fast. Well sure as shtuff they worked on that. We told our young server that we just wanted a set of appetizers and she said the chef wouldn’t like that. She said he would want us to order the appetizers and main course all together. I told her we only wanted to start with appetizers and she looked at me like I just slapped her. Had to get the chefs approval. That is weak and we saw the push to quickly get us out the door for the last four times we ate there. Mulberry (equally ranked) down the street has never come close to pushing us out the door once. So a bit frustrated to spending thousands there to make you feel like “hurry up and eat and leave”. Felt like we were holding up a table even though when we left most tables were empty.

When we arrived the hostess greeted us and asked us to wait at the bar until the table was ready. We waited about 15 minutes which was acceptable and the bar tender was friendly. Having worked in the restaurant business for many years, I have to say the waitress seemed overwhelmed and did not provide the level of service that one would expect from Lucia’s. We waited over an hour for our food. My sister ordered the lobster ravioli With scallops and immediately said the scallops tasted off, like cleaning solution. We smelled them and there was a strong fishy odor to them which indicates that they are bad. She immediately told the waitress. The waitress went back to the kitchen and came out with a plate. She asked my sister to put them on the plate and walked away. There was no customer service at all! Not I’m sorry that happened, nothing and she never came back to tell us what the chef said nor did the manager/owner come over to ask us anything. We were given the bill, paid and the waitress never said thanks for coming or have a good night…nothing! After my sister got home she was ill and vomited. This was my first experience at Lucia’s but she has been there many times before. I have to say I was extremely disappointed in the service and lack of response regarding the concern with the scallops, especially with the type of restaurant Lucia’s is known to be.

EXTREMELY disappointed in the customer service we received. We did not have a reservation so we we’re going to sit at the bar. That would have been totally fine however the owner basically took the bar stool out from me when I went to sit down. I was extremely upset. Never tried to offer us another seat at the bar. Was extremely disappointed. We have eaten there before. Food was amazing. But customer service tonight was HORRIBLE.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect dining experience
Great location with amazing views, outstanding customer service and a perfect dining experience. Two couples enjoyed 2 dozen oysters, stuffed banana peppers and fresh bread. All entrees were delivered as ordered and were picture picture in presentation. Flavor profiles and depth of flavors plus perfectly prepared food made this a truly outstanding experience. We cannot wait to return. Generous portions provided a meal for the next day.
Be the first to ReplyWithin 3 hours of eating I was terribly ill
My husband and I took his 94 year old mother for a belated Mother’s Day dinner. While she thoroughly enjoyed her meal both my husband and I had extreme stomach gas within 3 hours of eating. It continued through the night with me vomiting a few times. We three ordered different meals, mine being gf which I had questioned the waitress during dinner. She assured me my meal was. While my husbands gas subsided I continue to experience “glutened” symptoms. We will not be back and threw away the leftovers.

Great food and wine. The taste is there. The starter delicious. The lobster lenguini fantastic. Full os lobster and shrimp, great flavor. The lenguini very delicate. The brownie for dessert spectacular. However don’t ask for coffee, a disaster. An Italian restaurant that doesn’t know how make expresó, unbelievable. I had to stop at a Starbucks on the way out. Italian restaurants are supposed to have good expreso not regular American coffee. When you have high notes all over and then you finish with a disappointment is sad. The expresó is like the end of a great meal, you close down with it. Take the expresó out of the menú or hired a barista.
