Four for dinner
Maison is a laid back fun place to dine. The food is great and the service is too! I loved the escargot and my wife loved the mushroom tart. We all enjoyed our main courses. The cocktails were good and the wine list is excellent. I say give it a try if you’re in Charleston.

A great meal, outstanding service from our server Tony. He is so knowledgeable about each dish and wines. It was a weeknight so not busy like on weekends in Charleston. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic food, great service. Monkfish was excellent. Pea tart entree creative and delicious. Waiter knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient.

We were blown away by the depth of flavor in all of our dishes (leek vinaigrette, burger, and chicken hache) and our drinks (mock tail, cocktail, and wine). The service was to match. Paul, our waiter knew the menu so well, even for being a new team member. On par, or better than many of the places further down King Street. Highly recommend!

We are in Charleston on vacation and booked a table at Maison last night. The menu was very varied and interesting. Our waiter (sorry can’t remember his name but he was a tall guy originally from NZ) had the knowledge of a head chef and described the dishes beautifully. The food was outstanding and we had a really nice meal. Next visit to Charleston we will definitely return

Really enjoyed the meal. Food was well presented and tasted great. Pate as very provincial and my chicken dish, recommended by the waiter, was superb. Wine selection was good by the glass, but could use some more variety. Definitely a destination restaurant.

New Years Eve can be a difficult evening to begin looking around for a dinner spot, but after our outside table at a wonderful restaurant was unavailable due to rain, we were able to snag an early seat at the bar at Maison. The decor is understated bistro, with the table seating basically unchanged from the prior establishment...but the bar is a wide pewter patina well suited for this cuisine. The backbar has been opened to the kitchen so diners can hear and see the line cooks interact, a feature we love. Menu is simple and we had an onion & goat cheese tart, accompanied by escargot. Delightfully complimented by a crisp Muscadet from Melon and a well made Paloma, we were already satisfied. Our main courses were steamed flounder with a potato pave (thinly sliced, buttered and pan fried) with citrus beurre blanc to die for, and a monkfish on the bone chop almandine with beans and brown butter. Both were well made and satisfying...another glass of wine from the rouge world (Cote du Rhone) rounded out the meal. Oh...and we shared the frites with bernaise sauce...OMG...side dish from heaven. Since we had a long drive back home, we passed on desert, but the menu was simple and we would have loved the dessert wine selection. I would consider the meal not expensive in our post Covid labor market today, and we thought the service was exceptional from the bartenders. Servers who know the wines and dishes are hard to find...Maison has them. We will return and bring friends.

really loved the rabbit which is underappreciated as a meat in the U.S.A. several large Morel mushrooms added a nice textural and flavor treat. Skip the foie gras terrine as I think the liver was overwhelmed by the jam whose sweetness was a bit cloying. You can make a meal of the small plates and share among friends . Bucheron tart was not as expected, an underlayment of caramelized onions , pignoli and tapenade with whipped Bucheron cheese layered on top and then baked. Tasty! I wish the wine list had more glasses on it. I like to sample wine from regions I have not sampled before. Maybe a coravin service which can pay for itself by charging $25 and up for a glass out of an over $100 bottle. I know I would spend that for a glass of a 2015 Burgundy. The pomme frites were as good as any I have had in Europe and they had a nice quantity of "crunchies" if you could get to them before your tablemates.

Nothing short of fabulous! Our server, Erika, was an absolute delight! She explained the entire menu and helped us to pick out what we wanted. One of the apps turned out to not be a winner between us, so she said...I'll be right back and sure enough she chose a different app for us to try and it was stellar! The steak fritas and the sausage en croute are a must! And you have to save room for dessert. We will definitely be going back!

Not to be missed! We just had a phenomenal dinner here and highly recommend this restaurant. The French onion croquettes are to die for and we had the Boucheron tart as well which was outstanding. My husband had the steak frites which was fantastic and I had the roasted chicken breast which was amazing. Service was impeccable.

Had dinner with another couple here. The ambiance is cozy and bistro like. The service is excellent. We shared the mushroom tart first which was light and tasty. Then we both had the rabbit en croute which was fabulous with a wonderful sauce and flavors. Will be back!

The food was amazing! I would go back again and order (among other things) the chicken dish and chocolate mousse again in a heartbeat! Service fantastic and lovely ambience.

True French cuisine with subtle sauce dishes. The service was attentive and delicious food. We enjoyed the escargot, tilefish, and veal. It’s a popular eclectic place so get a reservation.

Delicious cocktails, food, and dessert. Johnathon was an excellent server. The field peas gratin was my favorite. We also loved the rabbit, tile fish, and chocolate mousse.
