Mastro's steakhouse is a bi-level, high-end dining establishment located on 52nd street and the Avenue of The Americas in NYC that offers an extraordinary luxurious experience with exceptional service and fine cuisine in its elegant atmosphere. The ambiance of fancy restaurants like Mastro's are often carefully designed to create an environment of elegance using elements such as decor, lighting, furnishings which provides clients with the feeling of exclusivity. I was there with my friend and everything was absolutely perfect. From the waitstaff to the food. We were extremely impressed and plan on returning.

Great for a date, birthday or anniversary dinner.
Be the first to ReplyHad a great evening at Mastro's.
Ambiance was dark, loud steakhouse vibe. Wait staff Ronnie was spot on delivering a perfect birthday evening. Seafood tower was amazing as was the filet. We will gladly return next trip.

Be the first to ReplyPricey but the most quality meal and service around.
My husband and I love coming here for celebratory dinners because the ambiance is perfect for us. They have live music at least on weekends and even the bar area offers a fancy dining experience but with a more casual feel. Go tos: The bone-in filet is their signature Crab cakes are full of crab meat French onion soup is superb Warm butter cake is decadent Schezuan green beans were fantastic!

It's quite nice. Good steaks and fish. And we got a table immediately. So I satisfied overall. Nice old fashioned restaurant.

This place is pricey but photo opportunity and you get alot portion wise. The server was friendly and excellent brought out every meal we ordered and even took selfies with us. It was packed but we felt like we were the only ones there was a live singer that filled the room with tunes and laughter. I definitely will be back with Birthday Girl we had a blast

Food could have been better but not complaining because we came on a late Sunday evening, our server George made up for the food with exceptional service and we really appreciated that

My Party Was Missing 2 People But They Sat Us Anyway. The Host (Mely) Was Extremely Unprofessional. She Told Me Once It Hits 10pm My Friends Wouldn't Be Able To Enter The Restaurant I Said Okay I Thought That Was The End Of It . NOPE! She Proceeds To Walk Up To The Security At The Front Door And Starts Pointing At Me Which Made My Party And I Super Uncomfortable To The Point We Wanted To Just Leave. At 9:50pm I Went Out To Retrieve My Friend From The Front And Again She Reminded Me At 10pm NOBODY Would Be Able To Enter The Restaurant .10pm Comes Around And People Of A Different Demographic Then Us Are Still Entering The Restaurant Going To Tables And The Bar My Last Friend Enter Around 10:05pm And The Front Desk Stopped Him Saying He Couldn't Join Us. If It Wasn't For Mark My Server And The Security Guard For Letting My Friend In To At Least Sit With Us This Would've Been A 1 Star Review My Party And I Felt Really Targeted. The Host Definitely Almost Ruined My Birthday With Her Attitude. Overall MARK YOURE AMAZING KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING! The Food Was Amazing The Service FROM MARK Was Great Couldn't Ask For Better Server. The Security At The Front Thank You And Mark For Making My Day .

Went here for dinner for a work dinner and was a sophisticated, old school yet modern steakhouse. As a vegetarian, I even found the food to be delicious. The butter cake is a must try!

Succulent Steakhouse with painstaking prices but beef that makes it worth the splurge. Rib Eye + Garlic Mash Potatoes combo is a winner. $60 a dish. 4.5/5 stars as a dinner spot.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my first time dining at Mastro's.
I have mixed reviews on my experience. The service was amazing. Our waiter's name was Jason and he was great and very attentive. The ambience is really nice and comfortable. Honestly, I expected the food to be better. The Lobster Mash, Crab cake, asparagus, and spinach were all tasty. However, the herb roasted chicken was very bland. It came out really pale, no gravy, no type of glaze. Just bland light colored chicken, with poor presentation. I was also underwhelmed by The Mac & cheese. It seemed as if it was just plain noodles under a thick coat of cheese on top. The butter cake was ok. Even though it wasn't as soft as I expected. The drink Jason suggested was really really good. The other issue I had was that before the food was sat on the table, they started serving the side dishes. I didn't like that, being that I like to take pictures of the dishes for my Yelp reviews before I touch it.The highlight of the night was the pianist. I was very pleased with her performance. She sang a mixed variety of music. Once she started singing Anita Baker I was so surprised. I loved her.
Be the first to ReplyBUTTER CAKE REIGNS SUPREME! Mastros kills it every time.
I will say, however, the sea bass wasn't as flavorful as it typically is but the pan seat was fantastic and the texture was buttery and amazing as normal. I opted for the truffle mushrooms to pair with the food and was actually disappointed by the lack of truffle flavor, might want to rethink the name for that and brand them as seasoned butter sautéed mushrooms to manage expectations. Our server was pleasant and kind and even brought cherries for a Manhattan that was ordered at the table because at the time it was made they were out. The grand finale that is always what I crave on my worst and best days AKA the butter cake was deeeelicious. The live music on the piano created an even better environment and we were able to make a request which was great.
Be the first to ReplyI think this place is not worth the hype.
The food is so over priced and is not even that good. The steak is good quality but has no seasoning. The mash potatoes is water down and the Mac and cheese is trash. There are places in New York with better views, astethics and food than this. Save your money

The steaks were very tasty and cooked perfectly, I been to all steakhouse in Dallas and this was just as good! My server George was one of the nicest and knowledgeable servers and my wife and I was completely satisfied! Would def return to spot of back in theatre district!
Be the first to ReplyMaestro is a steakhouse in midtown.
As soon as we walked in, there were about four or five hosts standing by the hostess station. Since they were all mid convo, i ended up greeting them. I let them know i had reservations and two of the hosts reviewed the tablet together to find my reservation. It took about another 3mins for us to be walked to our table. Overall the entrance portion was quick. The restaurants main door is off to the side. Its a strange front door situation. When you walk in, the entrance is a little narrow but then opens up to a big space. The decor is really nice. The live music was a plus and certainly makes the night feel more romantic. The floors are NOT heel friendly. I slid a few times and do have rubber stoppers on the bottom of the heels. So just a heads up for any ladies out there looking to visit. I had to hold my husbands hand to walk in and out. Once seated at the table, it did take about 10mins for our waiter to acknowledge us or get us water, etc. He actually didnt, the runner ended up getting us water. We were given the option of flat or sparkling. We took sparkling water. When the waiter came around, he took our drink and appetizer order. Once the appetizer came, we ordered our entrees. We ended up getting two drinks. My husband got a Cadillac Margarita with Casa Migo. I got the Pomegranate Martini. The drinks here are ridiculously overpriced. The Margarita was $29 and the Martini was $21, more then the appetizers prices. I got two drinks and you can easily see the inconsistency in how it was made. The first drink was darker. The second one was way too strong and tasted like only a splash of Pomegranate juice was used. As an appetizer we got 6 raw oysters and the crab cake. I asked for one crab cake and was still given two and charged for those two as well, $49. Thankfully the crab cake was absolutely delicious. The seasoning was on point and you can taste and see the big pieces of crab. They serve it with big pieces of lemon and a sauce. The oysters were fresh. They tasted good and had a good texture. The six oysters were $23. Both appetizer were good, i recommend them. For entree my husband got the rib eye - oscar style with crab meat and hollandaise sauce, $134. I got the rib eye as well but with nothing on top, $79. For sides we got the lobster mash $40, and truffle mushrooms $24. The Steaks were delicious. Perfectly cooked. Perfectly seasoned. I loved it. The sides were also good. The lobster mash was flavorful and had large pieces of lobster throughout it. The seafood flavor in the mash was also very present. The mushrooms were really good as well. I did with that they left less thyme twigs in the mushrooms. I also wish they used less green onion on the mash. Some pieces were hard to chew because they seem to have been charred. For dessert we got the butter cake and the raspberry chocolate mousse cake to go. The butter cake was dense, sugary and full of flavor. It had so much butter in it, you could taste it. They dusted the cake in sugar which i feel was an overkill. It didnt need additional sugar. They serve it with fresh fruit, raspberry syrup and vanilla icecream - way too much. The chocolate cake was delicious. Not an overpowering amount of raspberry. The cake itself was hugeeee, i feel like we got two big slices but what i realized, its a high tierred cake and because of this, the tiers had to be split to fit inside of the takeout container. This cake was served with raspberry sauce as well. Overall my meal here was great. Expensive but it was worth it. I dislike going somewhere, spending alot of money and the food is trash. Def didnt have that issue here. What isn't the best is the service. After spending $575 i felt that the service i received didn't feel like it was worth that price. We had long waits in between being seated and our order being taken, etc. Even when our food came out, the server didn't bring it, it was a runner. We must of asked for utensils, extra sauces and hot sauce multiple times before receiving it. The server had multiple tables that night and aside from ordering the food with him, he didnt do much. His angry face killed me. He seemed really upset about being slammed with multiple tables. It made him extremely unapproachable. He seemed to change his tune when we asked for the dessert menu and items to go, sort of happy that we were 1) ordering more and 2) leaving.Overall, loved the food here. If I'm looking to have an expensive fancy dinner....i might come back. I'm glad i finally visited this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING.
Expensive but worth every penny. Both petite filet and bone-in ribeye steak were super flavorful and well seasoned. Cooked to perfection, every single bite was mesmerizing. Super flavorful and buttery, easy to cut. So simple, yet so flavorful. Best steakhouse meal that I have experienced. Garlic mashed potatoes as a side dish was even better. Potatoes just melt in your mouth, subtle hints of garlic, and not overpowering.

Be the first to ReplyI went to Mastros for my birthday in February.
The hosts is horrible, when I mean horrible. HORRIBLE! I love Mastro's food wise but the service is soo bad. It's about 4 women in the front. When you come in they don't introduce their self, nor ask what's your reservation for, one of them was playing with her eyelashes (gross). You work at a restaurant you should not be playing with your eyelashes. The manager is just all over the place no help. The waiter horrible too. He came to our table about 20 mins after we been seated. Ask for our drink and we told him we are ready to order. He said we have to wait. Oh yea food takes about 45 mins to come. My friends and I were so exhausted. My birthday was ruined.
Be the first to ReplyHad the best steak and the best service hands down.
Finished it off with a butter cake of course! Rachel was our server and she was incredible. Loved the way she coursed out our food and all her recommendations. Great live music - will be back!

The absolute best steak I've had in my life thus far is from maestro steakhouse. The food is amazing on first taste and tastes even better the next day (if you can't finish). The overall ambiance here is spectacular, it feels luxurious. Our waitress knew how to recommend drinks as well.
Be the first to ReplyIt's dark.
It's expensive. It's dark. They sell big pieces of meat. I took my son here as a special treat. I've been to all the other steakhouses when with work colleagues, but rarely do it in my personal life. We started with the bacon steak, which was delicious. My son tried to put rolls in his pocket for later. For dinner, we had a porterhouse for 2, Mac and cheese, and garlic whipped. All outstanding food. We ate leas than half of what hit the table. It was a lot. So was the bill. Especially since I had 3 glasses of tasty red at $25 each. This is not for the faint of heart. Bring a flashlight and a credit card with a high limit, and skip lunch that day.

One of the best steak houses in NYC hands down! The experience overall is amazing, the food is so good and extremely flavorful with great options. They have live music with (ok) signers but a great selection in music choices. I'm all about decor and Mastro's is well decorated and very chic for a perfect elegant night out.I always get the scallops and they never disappoint. My boyfriend got the steak and loved it. We shared the sides and had so much food left over. You will leave Mastro's full but you can't leave without trying the butter cake, it's outstanding!
