What a great visit that matched all the good reviews
The service was exceptional - appeared exactly when we needed them. The prise fixe that we chose was four courses of terrific with well prepared selections having interesting and delicious ingredients. We chose lamb fillets for the main course, prepared to perfection. The dessert was a dense chocolate with Japanese pearls, raspberry sorbe, and hot salted caramel sauce. A perfect place for a birthday celebration with my wife

Really good place, right in the center of Reykjavik, nice environment, courteous staff, excellent cuisine, music with a pianist in the background that doesn't disturb. Recommended dish: caramelised lamb. Medium-high price considering Reykjavik prices around 70/80 euros.

We opted for The Secret Menu and we're very pleased. Excellent food and beautifully presented, the service was very professional and friendly. We are coming back.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Engagement Dinner
This is a delightful restaurant and the location I selected to make an engagement proposal. The team were amazing and really bent over backwards to make the night memorable for us including providing complementary champagne and volunteering to make a superb (discreet) video of the event. The 6 course secret menu was one of the best meals we’ve had this year. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

What a fabulous restaurant! Staff were efficient & informative about the food. Small place but very warm & quirky. Would advise booking a table as can get busy. We had beetroot carpaccio, pan fried scallops, beef ribeye, glazed lamb fillet, chocolate "lion bar" & marital bliss. Food was amazing & beautifully presented. A little expensive but what we expected. Well worth it! Would advise anyone visiting Reykjavik to make a visit here!

Be the first to ReplyA must go if you enjoy fine dining
Fantastic tasting and beautiful food, with a great ambience with live piano music. We had a 6 course surprise menu with non alcoholic drinks pairing, couldn't fault any of the courses that came. It is fine dining so comes with a price tag to match that, but for a special night with the spouse it was great.

We ordered the surprise menu - 6 delicious courses! Service was excellent and staff was courteous. Would highly recommend (and sorry we missed out on the fish and chips served at lunch!) Only negative … tables are quite close together so it can be noisy …we had a couple next to us who were speaking loudly and a fellow a few tables over on a speaker phone call.
Be the first to ReplyA secret menu brave or stupid ! Definitely a great surprise
We had the best experience here we chose the secret menu it had 6 courses and they were all incredible, good portion sizes with amazing flavours, a mixture of fish & meat. We booked before based on other reviews it’s definitely more of a cosy restaurant feel, they had a lovely piano playing live which was a great atmosphere, it’s expensive but a great experience. Our hotel had voucher books and inside was a 15% off voucher this helped with the bill as with drinks too it was 30.000 kr before the discount. I would definitely go back we really enjoyed our evening. As it’s a surprise I don’t want to ruin it so will post just one of the courses so you can see the quality and portion size.

We were recommended this restaurant by a Reykjavik local and it didn’t disappoint. We went on a Saturday night and the ambiance was perfect, as was the food. We ate our way through most of the starters on the menu rather than order any main meals, and loved every one of them. The fish soup was poured at our table from a teapot into our bowls of seafood. That was a fun experience and the soup was delicious. This was definitely our best meal in Reykjavik and we highly recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing meal with outstanding vegan dinner
Incredibly delicious My husband had the lamb and I am vegan so went with the tasting menu They gave me what I thought was a Greek salad turned out to be olive oil infused puffs on this bed of beets with a cucumber iced glaze. The dinner was a caramelized squash. Unbelievable!!! For vegans highly recommend!!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, excellent service
We visited here on our second night in Reykjavik and loved it. Me and my boyfriend love good food and generally found all food in Iceland to be expensive, however we found that “fine dining type restaurants” such as this one to be better value than the UK. The food was delicious and it looked like a work of art.the atmosphere was great, very dark inside and romantic, there was also a live singer when we visited. I would definitely visit again if I return to Reykjavik.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Meal
Our family (2 teens included) enjoyed an amazing meal here. The restaurant is so charming, staff friendly and attentive, presentation is lovely, drinks were excellent, and the food was the most memorable of our trip. The fisherman's soup and lamb were excellent! The Skyr and rhubarb was incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a date, girls night out, or "fancy family dinner." They have piano on one side of the restaurant and can accommodate larger parties. I would have loved to have tried one of the secret menus in order to have tried more things.
Be the first to ReplyNew Year's Day Visit after a Walking Tour
We arrived early and parked across the street from the restaurant for a walking tour of central Reykjavik. After the exertion, we treated ourselves to a wonderful meal. Service was excellent in meeting our dietary requirements. Additionally, we were able to split the menu between those wishing to have a tasting menu and the rest who wished to have it à la carte. The food was excellent. The service impeccable. And while we were seated at the door to the kitchen, that was not a distraction. Later in the meal, the piano at the bar provided music. A great night.

We had a wonderful meal at the Food Cellar, which is in a great location and has friendly, helpful staff. The lighting is a little dim, but the food was excellent with a number of local dishes to sample. The bar staff were happy to make a cocktail that was not on the menu, and had an excellent wine list which they were happy to make recommendations from. We both had fish starters, which were delicious, and steaks for our main course, which were expertly cooked. As a lovely touch, they gave us our dessert for free as it was my sister's 40th birthday.

You have to visit this lovely chilled friendly restaurant/piano bar. I felt so at home here. The staff are a complete credit and made me feel welcome and looked after. Exactly the sort of place I wanted on a birthday holiday on my last night out. Thank you for making me feel like I don’t want to go home. Oh sorry, the food was lovely too 😊

I highly recommend this place - fantastic mood/decor, creative cocktails and interesting menu items. Some of the dished were hits with our group while others feel a little flat (chicken and lobster), but overall it was a GREAT dining experience. Would go back again.

A wonderful place from start to finish. The dinner, setting and service was all excellent. The tour of Iceland menu was a great choice. Enough food for two really and everything was presented extraordinarily. Drink menu was varied and everything was paired well if you need recommendations. Setting was super comfortable and made for a nice dinner, bar area was lively with a piano if thats more your thing as well. Cant go wrong here.
