Hubby and I came on a whim one Saturday night.
No reservation but was able to get a table at the bar. Ordered the labnah, octopus, chicken meatballs and a slice of pistachio cake. Everything was on point. Service was friendly enough. Would come back and try more for sure.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my absolute favorite dinners on this trip! Skipped
One of my absolute favorite dinners on this trip! Skipped the drinks and just opted for water. For food we shared the following items: Beef-Bacon Wrapped Date: This was the most underwhelming item of the night, the combination of flavors and textures were too one-dimensional. I think an added element would have really elevated this dish but somethings is missing... Crispy Lamb Hummus: WOW this was so good, the flavors, the textures, wow I just wish they gave two pitas or some cucumbers with this cause one pita is not enough. Fried Brussel Sprouts: So addicting to eat, the spices and sauce used paired so well together Moroccan Brick Chicken: Moist flavorful chicken with a delicious arugula salad, so simple but so necessary for the table Grilled Octopus: Cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely, if I see octopus on the menu I order it Warm Pistachio Cake: a simple cake but could do with less white chocolate Service was okay, we barely saw our server after we ordered but other staff was friendly. We sat at the counter so we could see them preparing the food which was a cool experience. The ambiance is dark and cozy, would be great for a date night.

Their consistent good food, atmosphere and service doesn't go unnoticed. The menu selection is excellent and there's always something new to try.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, high quality food and prompt service.
My only complaint is that the table was too small for all of our plates. But the food is so flavorful and memorable and well worth the visit.
Be the first to ReplyIf a restaurant can get me to eat lamb and actually ENJOY
If a restaurant can get me to eat lamb and actually ENJOY it?! Then you really got somethin good. Came here for the first time on a Friday night and it was worth all the hype. The dishes are small plates - which I love - so keep in mind that you'll need to order quite a few depending on how hungry you are. I came for dinner with a friend and we started with the Hummus abu Hassan and their fresh baked pita... omg... I'm not even a hummus fan yall, but this one was amazing. Then we ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon and the Hawaij Spiced Carrots - both were perfect. And last but not least, the Lamb Chops. INSANE. I don't like lamb and will never go out of my way to order it or even try a bite when my husband orders it anywhere. But their lamb chops here, I will come back for. I usually will take pictures of my food to post on here, but I was truly enjoying my meal so much that I didn't take a single photo. Maybe next time! LOL

Highlights 1) Amazing Food 2) Cool Vibe 3) Shareable Plates Made a reservation here recently for a small group of co-workers. It happened to be Valentine's Day so we definitely needed the reservation. We arrived about 30 minutes early but the restaurant was able to seat us right away at a high top. The vibe here is super cool and open. It's fairly loud but that made it feel exciting! The menu is fairly large and features a ton of Mediterranean small plates of various sizes. Everything we had was amazing and bursting with flavor! Highly recommend the harissa carrots, salmon and Greek potatoes. Will absolutely seek this out on my next visit!

This place is so good! Make a reservation in advance if you are going on a weekend. Was very impressed when I went here for the first time, I brought a large group and they handled it great! Definitely on the nicer side! A go to date spot!
Be the first to ReplyOkay let me just say, everything I had to eat here way
Okay let me just say, everything I had to eat here way delicioussss!! I really would recommend the lamb and usually I don't prefer lamb. They know what they're doing here when it comes to food, but also ambiance! This is such a cute place, we went at night and there was low lighting, modern decor, so makes a great spot to go with friends or family, but a great date spot as well! The service was great as well, knowledgeable on the whole menu, and attentive! One downside, is be ready to spend a bit of money. I would come back much more often if prices were a little lower, but for the quality of the food I'd still say it's worth it
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite spots in the pearl.
The octopus is my favorite but you can't go wrong with anything really. Try the lamb hummus if that's your thing - so good!! And the staff are always so nice.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good though surprisingly bland.
Service was fine. The noise level, between the thumping music and the crowd, made it impossible to enjoy or linger over dinner.
Be the first to ReplyOh Em gee! Amaaaaazing food!! I'm visiting from out of town
Oh Em gee! Amaaaaazing food!! I'm visiting from out of town with a few other folks and we came here for a work dinner. The food is so incredible. I literally wanna go back tomorrow and eat here again. There were five of us so we ordered the following: Fennel salad, chicken meatballs, falafel, hummus with lamb, carrots, sweet potatoes, fried chicken, and the baked feta. I highly recommend all of these plates, but if I had to pick my favorite, I would say the chicken meatballs were to die for. I've never had ground chicken taste so delicious before. I would say this place is casual, I could see it being a date spot, a friends hang out spot, and for us it was a perfect work dinner spot. But the overall ambience was cool and chill. And by the way, our waiter was awesome. He gave us great recommendations, and seem to be very passionate. Bravo, guys!!
Be the first to ReplyAmbience ~ crowd & loud.
A get-together hangout spot over drinks.Service ~ what is now typical in a high volume environment. Add higher than average tipping.Food ~ what brought us in was a glance at the menu. Prices seemed reasonable. Upon serving, the portions are disappointingly teeny weeny. So in actuality it is very pricey for what you get. The server encourages you to share plates if you do not mind having a tasting course-like evening.More for the walking Pearl patrons ~ a central location to meet up after work with parking that is impossible to find at peak times.

We happens to get in with no wait and no reservation but I recommend having a reservation as we had to sit at the kitchen bar. Service was great. Very helpful with recommendations and explanations of each did we asked. The vibe is busy but not loud just lively. Every cocktail and did was a 10/10 and we would order again. Food (all amazing) but I noticed especially how fresh the herbs and seasoning were. Portions were great for sharing. Some dishes could be shared within 3 people. Be the first to ReplyMy experience eating here tonight was PHENOMENAL.
I am big, huge, on MY TRIO....food, service and ambiance. I arrived in town from Pittsburgh, PA eating solo at the bar as my husband ate a few blocks over with his company after their convention today. I started my excursion with the Turkish Delight. I relish anything and everything lemon so when the bartender told me it was their version of a lemon drop, I excitedly agreed to give it a try. Moving into the Saladin offerings, I chose the salted beets. One taste of the beets, and I knew we were off to a wonderful exploration as the rightful name of the establishment implies. Next, Mezze, the Brussels sprout hummus with a nicely spiced harissa vinaigrette and the best pita I've ever tasted. Holy smokes, this blew my socks off! Nicely crisp, just perfectly seasoned and sauced placed over the most luxurious and silky hummus I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Lastly, the twin lamb chops. Perfectly seasoned with oregano, oil and lemon (did I express how much I loooove lemon ?!?!) and so tender they cut like butter. I used my butter knife to cut into them! Ending this tasty wonderland, I ventured to get the Turkish coffee and their Turkish chocolate cookie. It was such a pleasure to end on a perfect note. Bartenders (I didn't catch their names, I'm awful at that ) one woman one man. Both equally engaging and super helpful with suggestions. Food was arriving in a nice speed, not rushed. We always make the decision when traveling to never try the same place in the same visit as there are too many places to try and not enough time BUT I may just make an exception this time, as my husband didn't get the same heavenly experience as I did tonight and who am I to keep this gem from him?? Enjoy my pictures and please don't hesitate to partake in this expedition. You don't want to miss it.
Be the first to Replyconsistency is key, but with MEC they've managed to nail it
consistency is key, but with MEC they've managed to nail it with a balance of bold and subtle flavors cooked to perfection. I love sharing, so the tapa styled menu items really matched my style of eating, their menu items are updated often and prepared daily. Big seafood girl over here, so for the table we got the grilled octopus, grilled shrimp, greek potatoes and the fried Brussel sprouts humus, and the fennel salad. I'm usually skeptical about octopus because it's really easy to overcook, but each time I've ordered it from this restaurant it's perfect. The Brussel sprout humus was my favorite, I could have ordered that alone and been completely satisfied, it complimented the grilled shrimp really well. Perfect ambiance for a cozy business meeting, or group dinner, or date! The servers are warm and friendly and had great wine recommendations to pair with your meal.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and even better service! I can't say enough
Delicious food and even better service! I can't say enough great things about the food here. Our server was so sweet her name was Brianna and she was extremely helpful in making sure we had ordered enough food that would be able to satisfy our party. I will definitely be back, especially for the fried chicken!
Be the first to Reply4.6 stars for Mediterranean Exploration! I didn't expect to
4.6 stars for Mediterranean Exploration! I didn't expect to give it such good ratings, but it did exceed my expectations. It's more tapa style, small plates. So be prepared to order lots, server told us about 2-3 dishes per person. Depending how many people you have, can share also.We tried the lamb hummus $17 with extra pita $3, it was creamy and warm. The grilled octopus $19 was a tad small but tender and not too chewy, fried chicken $17 was unexpected, it had a sweet and salty taste to it, which reminded me of chicken and waffles flavors, Greek lamb chop full size 4 piece $48 was perfectly done, hanger steak $29 was by far the best looking meat/protein tender and slightly raw, beef and lamb kebab $23 was decent, spiced cauliflower $22, sweet potatoes $15 was my favorite side dish. We also tried the worth a Chai drink $9 and glass of red wine $14. The bill also charged us a wellness charge 3%, to compensate employees with Healthcare and pto etc. Interior was nice and dark but not too dark, romantic for date night, not really family friendly. We'll be back when we visit Portland again!
Be the first to ReplyYou cannot go wrong with this place.
Absolutely worth it. Everything was so good!!!! Meat portions were smaller than I expected but 4-5 plates is perfect for 2 people. My favorite was definitely the hummus that was topped with crunchy lamb bites, cilantro and onion paired with the fresh pita
Be the first to ReplyWe went to dinner last night with a group of friends and it
We went to dinner last night with a group of friends and it was phenomenal. The food had so many complex flavors paired with the most amazing wines recommended by our excellent server Matthew! The best hummus I have ever had in my life! The pitas were freshly baked! Perfect amount of food to share amongst friends to have a carnival of tastes all across the Mediterranean. The manager Sara Luna explained all the dishes and recommended a perfect spread for sharing. I can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyWOWSA, the food here is excellent and unique.
I have been here about 3 times. The radicho salad is quite large and is a 10/10! It is so delicious and flavorful, not overdressed. Just the right amount. The grilled octopus and Maitake Mushrooms were sublime! The service was pretty good. Staff are friendly and pretty on it. Street parking that we found easily this time, but that is not always the case. It is family style of sharing smaller plates. It's pretty easy to spend a $100 plus dollars for 2 people depending on what you get and how many alcoholic beverages you order. The prices match the food quality and service. It is great place for date night or for a celebration.
