Come on! I can't with this place! I NEVER EVER thought my favorite vacation spot would be in Riverside, CA!!! I love it here! Love it! The hotel Is rich in elegance and history. Everywhere you look is an ornate piece of history and beauty. The experience starts with this over whelming presence of a hotel... it feels like 4 city blocks. It's huge. The staff is incredible, all of them so authentic and so helpful. I've been during spring and it was so much fun. Just sunny and a warm breeze. From my patio I could here jazz playing down the street. Lots of activity and a cool vibe. My stay during Christmas was like a winter wonderland! It made Christmas feel like a classic Christmas card. So beautiful. My room was Ah-Mazing! I had a fireplace and Christmas tree in my room. Just off the stairs from our room was a luxurious fire pit, that me and my husband had cocktails at. I highly recommend the tour at the Mission Inn museum. We got to experience parts of the hotel that otherwise is off limits except to private weddings and events. It's just deep in history.

What can I say? This hotel just looks magnificent! It made me feel like I'm in another place and time! Stayed here with my fave cousin for two nights to celebrate her birthday weekend. The hotel is situated on an entire city block of the quaint Mission Inn District of Riverside. They have three restaurants, two lounges and a spa. Antiques everywhere and I even found a few staircases going nowhere!!! They have valet for $30 and self parking situated at the back of the hotel for $25 overnight. I was disappointed, there was no sign anywhere in the room or front desk about the fact that housekeeping services/room cleaning is by request only! Unlike all the other hotels I've stayed in, they have signs in the bathrooms regarding housekeeping schedule. We stayed at a 2nd floor room, the elevators were small, can probably accommodate 5 adults max, the hallways were dimly lit and had a faint musty odor. The deluxe room has 2 queen beds, fairly comfortable with microfiber bedding, Keurig coffeemaker, refrigerator and a small closet. Since it's an old building, I don't think it's soundproofed. I barely had any sleep for two nights, I could hear all the noises outside my room (loud music, birds cawing, train, people talking) and also in the building (people talking, door slamming, the shower next door, TV, alarm!). The room next door had the alarm go off at 6 am Friday and didn't turn it off for a good 4-5 minutes!!! At first my cousin and I didn't realize what it was since we woke up from the noise and went looking everywhere to pinpoint where the noise was coming from, unbelievable!!! Customer service wasn't rude but not friendly either.

A conference brought me to Riverside, and to stay at Mission Inn. On the outside, it's everything you hear about - stunning, pretty, beautiful, historical and all that. On the inside, it has a few pluses and minuses.Pluses: almost well appointed rooms. Lots of light (windows). Minuses: damp smell of carpets, old and at one place close to the bed, the carpet and/or floor under it felt sunk a bit. When I told the front desk, it was brushed off with "it's an old building."Minus: upon check in and reaching the room, the path to the room is not well lit and it's around the balcony and to the left side and water was logged. The first thing I got to see was a dirty bathroom!!! See pics!!! Right after checkin!!!! So it was disappointing. Minus: no tea, no water in the room! Would I recommend this place: may be, but the Marriot was better - that is .3 miles from this place. Walk along Mission and turn right onto Main Street and you can see it to the left opposite the convention center.Like I said, it's a pretty place on the outside, but scope for improvement on the inside. And last but not the least, the Marriot understands and shows empathy when you express a late check out because you had a late check in. This place, the lady hostess said she could extend the checkout by 15mins.... That's 11 to 11:15! Like it's a big gesture!

Worst experience ever! Cancelled my sons's wedding brunch days before the wedding despite confirmation and them taking our deposit weeks in advance. They cannot be trusted. Just stunned at the poor management and dishonesty of this place.

We had reservations for a much needed relaxing getaway at the Mission Inn. Five rooms reserved, tour reserved, spa treatments reserved, travel arrangements secured, suitcases packed. Last night around 6:00, Mission Inn sent an email canceling all 5 rooms! Less than 24 hours before our stay. I was on hold for more than 45 minutes to reservations, only to be told that there were no rooms, sorry. The manager, Paulina would call in the morning. Well, she didn't call, but after a couple more hours on hold and some communications with the front desk, magically there were rooms. "Our reservation had been reinstated." By now, we were quite annoyed and had canceled the spa appointments to abide by the 24 hour policy. I am still waiting to hear from the manager about the pre paid tour. This is no way to run a hospitality business. Guests, beware.

Negative 5 Stars: Reservation Nightmare! Bottom line: Do not believe or trust online reservation information. I've never used a more messed up system than this - even booking hotels in a foreign-to-me language country was easier! You need to re-enter the dates of your stay for each 'level' of room just to discover if rooms are available. Finally, when I had the 2 rooms and dates added to my "reservation' was not able to complete transaction. I even got email from them saying 'hey, you didn't finish..' (no kidding I'm trying) I repeatedly could not get back to where I was. After numerous online attempts, I called hotel reservations directly. I was immediately placed on hold for 34 minutes only to finally get a human that told me reservations had closed (while on hold) and that I need to call back In morning. I did call next morning and discovered the entire hotel is booked for my arrival date. The manager, Rebecca G. , told me the dates were actually not even available when I tried yesterday; they were entirely booked up then. She asked 'Do I want to be on waiting list'? Heck NO!! Why would I want to stay at a $$$$ place and be treated this poorly from the start??? By the way, my notes from previous day showed their calendar had open rooms for Raincross, Glenwood and Mission and they want me to believe that today they were/are completely booked? This place as extra charges for parking (not abnormal) and charges a $10 daily internet in rooms, but on Monday night, (I believe 3 out of their 4) hotel restaurants are closed and they have a 'No outside food or drink could be brought to room or on property' policy. Customer Service must be a premium extra here too because Mission Inn Riverside CA sorely lacks this. I hear there is a very nice Marriott close by.
Be the first to ReplyI'm giving the hotel 2 stars because the room was
I'm giving the hotel 2 stars because the room was comfortable, the staff was great, the restaurants were nice, the nearby Cheech Museum is excellent, and the hotel is gorgeous. But too many guests were treating the place like a drunken frat party. People were shouting at each other, people were racing in the corridors, people were having boisterous conversations in the hallways. And all of this was after hours around midnight and well after. I politely asked one group outside my room to have their conversation somewhere else. They simply laughed at me. One hooligan threatened me by saying: "Close the door, a$$hoe, or I'll close it for you." We cut our trip short, leaving before 7 the next morning and drove back to LA. If you're looking for a relaxing weekend in Riverside, definitely dine and drink here...but do yourself a favor and sleep across the street at the Hilton or the Hampton Inn.
Be the first to ReplyFour star hotel? Hmmmm.
...well when we go to the valet, all good and the greeting was lovely. Then we waited in line to check in and each customer ahead of us took so long. We finally get assisted and the clerk, although polite and friendly, took so long, did nothing special, and kept having to ask others about something. Then we get in line for the two small elevators and a bellman takes one of the elevators instead of offering us one. We get to our floor and a bit lost and one of the maids tells us to go through a couple of doors but fails to give us directions from there. Once in our room, the noise ?music, loud speaker, microphone) from a party was so loud through the walls. It's about 8:30 pm and the party has been going strong for 3 hours,. The bellman who delivered our bags was lovely and the room service was very nice. The room itself is dated.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel but needs many updates.
Hotel rooms are quite rundown and needs upkeep everywhere.
Be the first to ReplyThe wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a little
The wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a little weekend getaway at one of our favorite hotels in January. I got a chemical burn in the jacuzzi and the response from the hotel has been awful. No one followed up with us to make sure I was ok and no one offered a refund or anything in an attempt to make things right. We spent a lot of money to stay that weekend and it's extremely disappointing that a hotel of this expense thinks just ignoring a situation will make it all go away. My wife has called several times with no return calls. I also responded to a survey email sent to me asking how our stay was with no response. She did speak to one manager and she was told there was no report filed with security so another manager would call the next day to refund our money. Still waiting for that call. We called the front desk when we got back to our room from the jacuzzi to let them know what happened so they could check the jacuzzi so no one else was hurt and security came to have us file a report. Funny how that report is now missing. Again, no apologies or concern to my health/wellbeing or any of the other guests. It's like they got their money out of us and just want us to go away. I understand they are probably understaffed but this has nothing to do with staffing. How hard is it to make sure your guests are ok after something like that happened then offer something to make up for it? My wife has been commenting on their Instagram page about it and they keep deleting her posts. Ridiculous.
Be the first to ReplyVery classy but over one hundred years.
So it is very old and have a lot of history. Very cool very pricey because it's history. During Christmas the decorations are amazing. The nearby street and restaurant are to die for. Very cool but if you stay there know it is old as heck. So if you get scared easily don't go. If you like history it is worth your dream. Very classy and cool. Go during Christmas.
