Morton's The Steakhouse Anaheim Reviews from The Last Year
This place sucks, we waited for 2.
5 hrs without food, another table waited for 3hrs, and another 2,5 hrs, eventually we all left . The manager should not even qualify for Panda Express.
This steakhouse exceeded all expectations.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere exuded class and romance, setting the perfect tone for a memorable evening. The cleanliness of the establishment added to its upscale ambiance. The servers were not only excellent but also incredibly attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. And the food? Simply phenomenal. Each dish surpassed the last in flavor and presentation, making it nearly impossible to choose a favorite. Whether it was a perfectly cooked steak or a crafted cocktail, everything was exceptional. If you're looking for a classy and romantic dining experience where every detail is impeccable, this steakhouse is the place to be.
Great tasting steaks, sides are full of flavor (spinach
Great tasting steaks, sides are full of flavor (spinach with mushroom & asparagus), lobster bisque is creamy. Steaks are good sized and cooked according to our liking. Molten lava cake with ice cream is great to end your dinner. Great selection of wine and cocktails. Ambiance is romantic, on the darker side. Service was great as well.

It was my bf and I first time here for his birthday and they set up the table very nicely with decors with the menu saying happy birthday. I had gotten the waygu filet medium rare and my bf got the Cajun ribeye. Both steaks were AMAZING and cooked to perfection. The food comes out very quick which I loved and the service is great. We got the lava cake on the house which was delicious

I was here celebrating my birthday with my family and we all had a wonderful time. When I made the reservation I stated that it was my birthday so when we got to the table there was confetti on the table which I thought was super nice. The food was great as expected. My family and I all enjoyed our main dishes as well as the amazing sides. And the server was incredibly nice to bring me a birthday dessert. I cannot begin to explain how amazing the service was. Our server Chris went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, answered all of our questions, explained everything with precise detail, and made us laugh constantly. I truly have never had a better sever than Chris in my life. As a server at a restaurant myself, I look up to him and strive to give service like his. My family and I cannot thank him enough for helping us make my birthday incredible.
The worst steakhouse experience ever.
Servants were unhappy that day. The steak was not premium quality.
Update to my previous review of Morton's Anaheim.
Had a direct reach out from the GM with an invitation to dine again at the location. My boyfriend and I took up the offer. Night and day difference from the first dining experience! Nothing but positive feedback. My hopes for how the first experience would have been were met, and even vastly exceeded my expectations. Everything was phenomenal. From the valet knowing who we were upon arrival, as well as the host knowing about the note regarding the GM's invitation. To our server George who provided excellent service as well as knowledge of nightly menu changes. The timing of the meal was great as well. Two different men in suits, whom I presume to be in management, stopped by our table a few times to ensure everything was going great. The food and drinks were prestinely delicious of course. Overall just outstanding experience from top to bottom and I will definitely be back to this location when I can.

Best medium temperature prime ribeye have had in a very long time, And the old fashioned bourbon, made with Blade and Bow Bourbon from STITZEL-WELLER DISTILLING CO., Louisville, KY. was amazingly good! For a side I highly recommend the Lobster Mac and Cheese, It's something truly special
Celebrating my birthday here this was my first time.
Reservations at 7:30 didn't get out till 9:45 party of 6. Food was good the service just made it all bad. Not sure what happened to our waiter George who started off great and has great conversation at the end. Took our order didn't bring our bread we asked another waiter Brought our appetizers like 30 minutes then our salads like 20 minutes yes so mow 50 minutes. Water was empty and drinks we asked another waiter for refills george came back and went to get some more water 10 minutes later. Now we are hangry George came back and we asked for our food he said he was waiting for us to finish our salad poor excuse because her was not around done with our salads george said he was getting our food like 25 minutes later other waiters brought our food.. literally just brought our food didn't ask if we needed anything or everything was good one of our steaks was under cooked and my steak they forgot the garlic butter. During this time 4 other table were sat way after us and they were served and left while we were still there. Good thing the conversation was good it helped pass the time. Wait at the end I get a birthday dessert george brings the menu I tell him what I want he leaves and didn't ask anyone else if they wanted dessert and yes we all wanted dessert. So he goes back to get dessert. We ask for the check because it's late like 9:30 this so the only time he was fast. We are steak eaters and have tried other places and have our favorites this is not one of them my birthday was sad and disappointing. My husband came here the previous month with a big group and was impressed so surprised me with something new but he himself was not happy. One last note the manager was going around the table the funny thing he didn't come to our table the whole 2 hours we sat there as if he didn't know how long we had been there he finally came once we had our food which I felt it was not necessary to tell him anything I am sure he had to of noticed. Also at the end george had time to have a great conversation with us considering we were like the last ones there.
It was so noisy, couldn't even enjoy it.
It was very loud. I haven't been back in years and don't remember it being this bar-club type loudness.

Watch your bill they will “give” you a dessert and then just put it on your bill. They are scam artists.
Avoid at all costs, low-quality costs for the price paid
We used to go to the Arnie Morton's in downtown and had a fantastic experience. The service and quality matched the price point and we were looking forward to getting the same quality for a take-out dinner. We ordered the Prime Center-Cut Ribeye with a side of scallops. The scallops were excellent. The steak was disastrously disappointing. They were cooked to the requested doneness but the quality of the steak was definitely NOT prime. It was closer to USDA choice and was very chewy despite being at a medium-rare. One of the steaks was not even properly seared, with only one side having grill/char marks. To top it off, the steaks didn't come with the Au Jus sauce as noted in the menu, so we couldn't even drown the poor quality in sauce. It instead came with some kind of citrusy jelly sauce which we didn't even want to try. The price paid for these steaks was ridiculous given the quality. They were not prime cuts. Next time go with Lawry's. Heck, even your local small/chain steakhouse would give you a more satisfying experience. Arnie Morton's Anaheim is a complete rip off and borderline scam. We felt cheated by our experience and we went out the next day to buy ourselves an actual Prime grade rib-eye roast to cook at home to make up for a depressing steak dinner. Don't waste your time or money.
Lo, How the Mighty Have Fallen!
I have visited here in 2009, 2013, 2017, and one other time (2019?) and the service was impeccable -- like cleaning the bread crumbs off your table between courses, watching your table carefully to refill water or other beverages when you got down to 3/4 glass, providing condiments without asking (even salt and pepper!), coffee/tea sweeteners, explaining the menu, making recommendations, checking in frequently, and just being "top notch" fine dining service. NOT NOW! (December, 2023). The service was none of those things. The host was great, handsome, welcoming, energetic, and friendly, but the servers were not -- obsequiously "friendly" but actually rushed and dismissive, and probably over-worked with too many tables apiece, but we saw all the larger groups get more attention (duh; bigger tip). I waited forever after I was finished eating for any attention, and I had to speak up and flag down another server to request a to-go box. It was another long wait to get and pay the check (I still left over 20 percent). New management maybe? They certainly aren't coaching and training the staff like apparently they used to. Where are they recruiting these second-rate people? They used to epitomize "fine dining" service and now on this trip I've had better service at a Denny's, and this at nearly $150 per person. Very corporate and dismissive. I used to rave about this exact location, but not anymore. Despite being a "classic," they won't last long because the food and service no longer justify the price. Lamenting the shocking deterioration, but they have earned it, fair and square. Will try McCormick & Schmick or Tony Roma's or others next time that are very nearby and known to be better in this competitive (near Disneyland and especially the Convention Center) location.
Nice date night but they were overwhelmed
We were staying nearby for my wife to go to a conference and had a chance to come here for a date night while the kids had pizza in the room. We were looking forward to some great steak, and we ended up with a very good meal, but just not quite as good as it should have been. Our food was very good, our server was very good, but the restaurant was so busy that there were strange delays that threw things off too much and undercut the overall experience. We started out well, with our server convincing us to try an A5 wagyu NY strip and I went for a flight of whiskey to taste. My wife had a dirty martini. Fresh onion bread was excellent as was the chopped salad. Then things got a bit weird. Our oysters showed up and then our steak, but not the flight of wine. Our steak came out and we shared it and enjoyed it, but we may not be the people that "get" the whole wagyu idea. It was velvety but seemed just a bit too fatty, at least our cut, yet I loved the sizzling fat on the outside that had some texture and taste to it. Glad I tried it, but would likely go more for something else next time, like my usual ribeye. We also sat for quite a while waiting and I had literally just uttered "I guess we can save some money on the wine since we finished eating before it showed", and then it came out. I get being busy with food preparation, but really - 60 minutes to wait on a flight of wine so it comes out after you have finished and is sitting there as they ask you if you want dessert? In all fairness, our server was very gracious, apologized, and took the flight off the bill. We ended up not going for dessert and just leaving with an odd end to the meal. The food was very good, but just not that amazing level you come to expect of a Morton's.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
