Best medium temperature prime ribeye have had in a very long time, And the old fashioned bourbon, made with Blade and Bow Bourbon from STITZEL-WELLER DISTILLING CO., Louisville, KY. was amazingly good! For a side I highly recommend the Lobster Mac and Cheese, It's something truly special

Watch your bill they will “give” you a dessert and then just put it on your bill. They are scam artists.

We used to go to the Arnie Morton's in downtown and had a fantastic experience. The service and quality matched the price point and we were looking forward to getting the same quality for a take-out dinner. We ordered the Prime Center-Cut Ribeye with a side of scallops. The scallops were excellent. The steak was disastrously disappointing. They were cooked to the requested doneness but the quality of the steak was definitely NOT prime. It was closer to USDA choice and was very chewy despite being at a medium-rare. One of the steaks was not even properly seared, with only one side having grill/char marks. To top it off, the steaks didn't come with the Au Jus sauce as noted in the menu, so we couldn't even drown the poor quality in sauce. It instead came with some kind of citrusy jelly sauce which we didn't even want to try. The price paid for these steaks was ridiculous given the quality. They were not prime cuts. Next time go with Lawry's. Heck, even your local small/chain steakhouse would give you a more satisfying experience. Arnie Morton's Anaheim is a complete rip off and borderline scam. We felt cheated by our experience and we went out the next day to buy ourselves an actual Prime grade rib-eye roast to cook at home to make up for a depressing steak dinner. Don't waste your time or money.
Be the first to ReplyLo, How the Mighty Have Fallen!
I have visited here in 2009, 2013, 2017, and one other time (2019?) and the service was impeccable -- like cleaning the bread crumbs off your table between courses, watching your table carefully to refill water or other beverages when you got down to 3/4 glass, providing condiments without asking (even salt and pepper!), coffee/tea sweeteners, explaining the menu, making recommendations, checking in frequently, and just being "top notch" fine dining service. NOT NOW! (December, 2023). The service was none of those things. The host was great, handsome, welcoming, energetic, and friendly, but the servers were not -- obsequiously "friendly" but actually rushed and dismissive, and probably over-worked with too many tables apiece, but we saw all the larger groups get more attention (duh; bigger tip). I waited forever after I was finished eating for any attention, and I had to speak up and flag down another server to request a to-go box. It was another long wait to get and pay the check (I still left over 20 percent). New management maybe? They certainly aren't coaching and training the staff like apparently they used to. Where are they recruiting these second-rate people? They used to epitomize "fine dining" service and now on this trip I've had better service at a Denny's, and this at nearly $150 per person. Very corporate and dismissive. I used to rave about this exact location, but not anymore. Despite being a "classic," they won't last long because the food and service no longer justify the price. Lamenting the shocking deterioration, but they have earned it, fair and square. Will try McCormick & Schmick or Tony Roma's or others next time that are very nearby and known to be better in this competitive (near Disneyland and especially the Convention Center) location.
Be the first to ReplyNice date night but they were overwhelmed
We were staying nearby for my wife to go to a conference and had a chance to come here for a date night while the kids had pizza in the room. We were looking forward to some great steak, and we ended up with a very good meal, but just not quite as good as it should have been. Our food was very good, our server was very good, but the restaurant was so busy that there were strange delays that threw things off too much and undercut the overall experience. We started out well, with our server convincing us to try an A5 wagyu NY strip and I went for a flight of whiskey to taste. My wife had a dirty martini. Fresh onion bread was excellent as was the chopped salad. Then things got a bit weird. Our oysters showed up and then our steak, but not the flight of wine. Our steak came out and we shared it and enjoyed it, but we may not be the people that "get" the whole wagyu idea. It was velvety but seemed just a bit too fatty, at least our cut, yet I loved the sizzling fat on the outside that had some texture and taste to it. Glad I tried it, but would likely go more for something else next time, like my usual ribeye. We also sat for quite a while waiting and I had literally just uttered "I guess we can save some money on the wine since we finished eating before it showed", and then it came out. I get being busy with food preparation, but really - 60 minutes to wait on a flight of wine so it comes out after you have finished and is sitting there as they ask you if you want dessert? In all fairness, our server was very gracious, apologized, and took the flight off the bill. We ended up not going for dessert and just leaving with an odd end to the meal. The food was very good, but just not that amazing level you come to expect of a Morton's.
Be the first to ReplyGood food
My husband, daughter, and granddaughter had dinner on June 22, 2023. We were supposed to eat at Napa Rose in Downtown Disney, but they cancelled on us a few hours before our reservation. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Anyhow, Morton's was able to accommodate us. There was some sort of function and the restaurant was very busy, lots of people, and very noisy. I did not like the ambiance. However, our server Luis O was efficient and polite. The food was very good. We ordered the following: Au Gratin Potatoes, Truffle French Fries, Hot Chocolate Cake, Iced Tea, 3 Filet Mignon with Truffle Butter, Bourbon Sauce, and the other one with Bearnaise Sauce, Baked Potato, Creme Brulee, Lemonade, a Martini, Manhattan, Iceberg Wedge, and Bone In Ribeye with Sauce Au Poivre. Total with out the tip was 440.70. We were happy to have a good dinner at the end of a tiresome day at Disneyland. I would return to this restaurant because of the food and the staff.
Be the first to ReplyHidden Gem
What a hidden Gem this restaurant is, great service great drinks but even better food, my sister and husband ordered the seafood platter and loved it, we had steak and it was very yummy.
Be the first to ReplySurprisingly good
Despite catering primarily to conventioneers and tourists our experience was surprisingly good and en par with other Mortons restaurants in the US. Dry aged NY strip was perfectly grilled and had a wonderful aroma. The Faust Cabernet was on sale and with a price tag just below 100 $ a fair value. Service was friendly but not overly proactive. Only point of criticism: the onion rings tasted bland and greasy. Overall better experience than at Flemmings Anaheim.
