Biggest rip off ever
Ridiculous prices. I’m 1 adult and 2 children and they charged £400 for a few dishes. It’s a complete rip off. Stick to a traditional Chinese

Absolutely delicious food and excellent service. Ordered an array of plates which I couldn’t fault - favourite being the lettuce wraps

Service is fabulous ( except The very rude receptionist) …but do not visit if you expect a restaurant with good ambience. Food is good but I would not say outstanding for The price you pay.

Mr Chow is an experience. It’s not your “normal” Chinese food. If you want that go to PF Changs! I have been to every Mr Chow from NYC to Vegas, California and now London. Never disappoints! If you don’t know what to order and your expectations are for regular Chinese you will not have a good experience. My suggestion would be to go with someone who has been there before and not try the experience “cold turkey”

Be the first to ReplyLoud music
We booked for New Year’s Eve 2023 and had a special night completely ruined , the food was very average and speedily delivered to the point of almost a race to get us out. But the worst was the DJ s music was so loud it was impossible to talk , people seemed to be leaving in droves. We did complain but to no avail. The staff were very friendly.

The restaurant itself gives the illusion of a fine dining experience. The food was terrible. Saying it was overpriced would be an understatement. Could’ve gone to any good Chinese fast food restaurant and gotten similar quality. Left extremely disappointed wishing I looked at reviews before deciding to go based on people’s recommendation.

People might find it a bit old style but I love this place. Mr Chow is an institution in LA NY London and Miami. The London restaurant stayed untouched since decades The manager Dino is a great pro with a lovely Brooklyn accent :). I have been to this restaurant tens of Times over more than two decades … and the quality of the food and the services have always been outstanding.

I came here with my family with doubts due to the poor overall reviews but wow were they wrong. The food was of such high quality and absolutely delicious - we ordered a whole table full of it with such unique tastes bursting with flavour we will never forget. I recommend the caramelised prawns for the starter and the Beijing chicken - these foods were heaven in a bite. The dessert was also good but there wasn’t much of a selection. The restaurant is very ambient with dim lighting and some soft music in the background. During our meal, the chef himself came and did a spectacular performance showing how he made noodles - it was so fun to see! The service was absolutely great and we were welcomed by the manager, Dino, who welcomed us nicely. Will definitely come here again to try even more delicacies!
Be the first to ReplyBad vibe. Bad pricing. And very medicore to average food. Overall a waste of money and time.
Very few times have been lured by the reputation of place, however on this occasion it was a harsh lesson learned to never trust a name. The whole exp was terrible, the vibe of the restaurant felt awkward as its formal white cloth and waiters dressed in black attire was not representative of any quality or charm rather a weird ploy at disguising the shambles that is this long standing establishment.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst experience ever!
Extremely rude & hostile hostesses Magda & Jenna treated us with such contempt despite us being a regular client. Magda even swore at us by saying “f***k her” referring to one of our friends. Never going back there again!

Lives up to its reputation brilliant food , the atmosphere is superb & the service impeccable. I don’t believe there are many restaurants that could live up to Chows in terms of quality simply the best . 5 star dining experience HIGHLY recommended.
Be the first to ReplyFood, service, atmosphere perfects
We were pleased to find the Mr Chow we used to go many years ago. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and the setting of the restaurant was classic but clean and pleasant. We had the Peking Duck which was perfectly prepared and cut in front of us, the other side dishes were perfect as well. Nice wine. Perfect evening.

I take no issue with the prices as people who go to Mr Chow know they are paying for a name and location. Service was sporadic - some times great, sometimes slow. We had a lot of food, some of it inauthentic (satay), a lot of of it underwhelming. The duck was nice but nothing hugely special. Desserts were lovely. Wine was fine. Seating was very cramped. I think the restaurant caters to a very specific clientele who are not going for the food, but for the atmosphere. There is much better Chinese food to be had in London, but it was interesting to see the restaurant that helped to create buzz about Chinese food way back when.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced
We arrived late for our reservation due to transport delays but were told that was not a problem. Drinks arrived promptly. We ordered the satay chicken at 19£ per piece ,which we felt was nice but did not warrant the price, for main we had the half duck and for £60 was the smallest half duck I’d ever been served, for all Mr Wongs boasts of authenticity my local Chinese Restaurant is far superior. We were sat just inside the door, when we asked the waiter he said he would try to turn the heat up, which never happened, the noodles as indeed all our food became cold very quickly, when we asked for it to be heated we were told the kitchen was closed! The fact that we were then charged £38 service charge for service that made us feel like we were an inconvenience was also disappointing

Last minute dinner upstairs. Didn’t have a reservation but they had room for two. Food was all high quality. Service was fast and attentive throughout. All we’ll say is be prepared for the bill at the end of dinner.
Be the first to Replyfantastic evening .... as usual
it is always a pleasure to dine at Mr Chow. With the usual warm welcome from Dino and his team, the delicious food, great cocktails, the overall fantastic atmosphere, ..........how can someone not have a brilliant evening ? For me it is always the place for special evenings
Be the first to ReplyThe worst meal I have EVER had.
We made the huge mistake of booking a table for my husbands birthday. The lamb dish I ordered was completely inedible - after I complained they told me I had eaten most of it: I had exactly two pieces - I wish I had now taken a picture. This restaurant is a disgrace and I don’t think they care. They should be shut down. Perhaps open table should take note. The clientele was also interesting. It’s a hell hole. If you value money at all do not come here. Arrogant plus stupid. Dangerous combination.

The food was so delicious and the service was a 5 star service. Friendly staff and very welcoming. The ambiance of the place was amazing, I recommend it!
Be the first to ReplyRude Reception ladies
I love this resturant, and it is one of my fave! however, the one in london has the worst and rudest reception ladies! so racist and rude! If it wasnt for the cancellation fees, I wouldnt wait for my table! very rude and unprofessional.
Be the first to ReplyThree Best Friends in the Room…
Mr Chow was lovely, the food was amazing and the service was good. We had the Mr Chow set menu which was £85 per person, it comes with a first and second course per person with rice & veg; the only confusion was we thought we’d get individual rice & veg but it came together as one, that would be our only complaint I guess. We had the glazed prawns with walnuts and the salt & pepper prawns to start, divine, the glazed prawns are insane, the taste is so sweet I can’t explain how good they are! The salt pepper prawns are also lovely, they come with the shell on so takes a bit more effort to peel if you don’t like shell on.
For my main I had the Fiery balls which is I guess, really well seasoned, spicy meatballs in a sticky spicy sauce, was really good.
My friend had Beef in Oyster sauce which was nice, if you like oyster sauce you’ll love this, the beef was veryyy tender. I felt the Beef was to tender for my taste but it’s a lovely fish nonetheless.
Finally my other friend had the Lamb with Spring Onions, this was good also but my friend felt that the spring onions were seasoned better than the lamb & the lamb was slightly tough, I liked it but I never had to much of it to be fair so I’d believe her if I was you.
We had the lychee Martini and the strawberry mojito mocktails which were lovely.
The dessert menu was lacking as they only had chocolate mousse available.
I’d definitely say to go, treat yourselves every now and then, we are young working babes but every so often we get dressed up and take ourself out.
We were the most dressed up in the Resturant so that’s something to consider lol other people had “popped in” after a day of shopping in Harrods or they were just in the area so they were in comfy attire (puffer jackets & trainers) we almost felt overdressed but we are gorgeous black girls so are we really ever overdressed tho haha!
Anyway I’d definitely recommend, it is pricy but the service is really good!
Mr.chow
Looks like an alley not a restaurant very narrowed shape didn't feel comfortable the food was presented in a stainless steel dishes food wasn't that much and the bill was not detailed they just mentioned the drinks the rest called food ,200 pound for 2 soft drink and appetizer with main meal for 2 it didn't feel worth the money.wont come back again for sure
Be the first to ReplyDO NOT EAT HERE! IF IN DOUGHT READ THE FOOD CRITICS REVIEWS.ESPECIALLY THE AMERICAN ONES AS THEY GIVE IT ZERO SCORES TOO
The worst food I have ever been served in a restaurant! At extortionate prices!
I really wished that we had read the reviews first then we wouldn’t have been £130 ( should have been £170 ) worse off!
The pasta which Mr Chow is famous for was disgusting to say the least. A tin of Heinz spaghetti would have had more taste and it was £30! The prawns were £30 and they were salt and pepper but cooked with the shell on so once you peeled the shell off they tasted of nothing! The chicken satay ( one piece for £15 ) was NOT chicken satay! The beef dish was probably the best but it was all luke warm to say the least ( we sent the chicken satay back as that was definitely cold ) He served us dumplings complimentary due to it being Chinese New Year then added it to the bill at the end!
When the bill came we said we were not paying the service charge and told him to take the dumpings foo which bought the bill down to £130. Complete money making machine for rich people spending money on food they know nothing about!
If I could have scored it naught then I would have
Worst experience and manner, Bad taste and food
Sadly they are not wearing masks. Also, the food was very greasy and full of soy sauce.
When I asked to take off the optional service charges they got pissed off.
And they mark me off the reservation list out load in front of visitors to tell me to not come over again....
Let me tell you that that's my last time, and reported to NHS for restaurants hygiene.
Not coming again nor my friends
Bad experience
The manager of restaurant doesn't respect the customer, i have reservation but he doesn't give me the table because i am alone and the table for 2 !!
