Naifs London Reviews from The Last Year
Best front of house staff……ever.
The Vanderbilt is ideally located for exploring London, right next to Gloucester street tube station, and is exactly what you’d expect from Radisson Blu hotel, immaculately clean, the rooms without being huge are big enough, the beds are very comfortable with the best pillows ever, the one down side was when we walked into the room there was a strong smell of drains, but with a full schedule ahead of us we hoped it was temporary and carried on with the trip. Upon returning to the hotel at 11:15pm we went to the bar only to be told the bar was closed, we were not offered the opportunity to have a drink as hotel guests, which seemed usual ? The breakfast at the hotel was superb and set us up for the day. I’ve stayed in a lot of Radisson Blu hotels and this one did not disappoint, except for the drain smell, which was even worse upon our return in the evening, we did report this to the hotel staff in the morning and they seemed genuinely shocked by it. The most stand out part of the visit to the hotel was the front of house reception staff, Stephanie and Janet who were two extremely pleasant, polite and helpful young ladies, and a credit to the hotel. Would I stay here again…..definitely, despite to drains which I’m sure would be a temporary issue and not enough to spoil our visit.
American Family in Kennsington
If you are planning a trip to London, you should really make this your hotel of choice. The staff is amazing, they are friendly, curious and professional! we had a medical emergency (off hotel property) while visiting London, the staff told us what hospital to go to, made every attempt to assist us and make the rest of our stay as easy as possible. Also, go and see Cecelia who runs the morning breakfast! She is amazing, gives the best service, and cares about the satisfaction of her customers! the hotel is just really great!
A great place to stay!
The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, and you will feel welcome here. Their restaurant is excellent, and they serve a hearty and delicious breakfast buffet. It is also in a convenient location very close to the Tube, museums, and shops. This is an older building, and the layout of the floors can sometimes be a little difficult to navigate with big bags (there is an elevator, but for some of the rooms you have to use some steps to get there after you reach your floor). Otherwise the rooms are comfortable and functional, and the staff do a good job looking after things. It is a great place to stay.
One Night Stay- Dissapointing
There was a terrible drain like smell in the room, (306). In addition the double bed mattress was too large for the two single beds pushed together to make the bigger bed. They did not meet in the middle which left a foot long space between them. This meant there was a big dip all the way down the middle of the mattress. This was not discovered until late at night on returning from our night out. Reported both on check out the next morning and while a breakfast was offered, we could not accept and it did not make up for a disappointing stay.
Average experience but perfect location
We stayed here for just one night as we were attending an event at the Natural history museum at night. This hotel is perfectly situated for the museum. We were lucky to also get street parking on a yellow line after 6.30pm though the parking bays run from 10pm to 8.30am. The staff who checked us in and checked us out were polite and friendly and we were given a room upgrade which included robe and slippers. The room was dated and needs improvements especially the bathroom with large cracks in the sink, stains on the floor by the toilet and more thorough cleaning as there were hairs in the bath. The floors make creaking noises and the walls are very thin you can clearly hear the people next door. You can also hear the traffic passing as our room was facing the street on the ground floor. However, the bed and pillows were super comfortable.
Comfortable and well located
The room and the bathroom were spacious. The beds were super comfy with enough pillows. The hot water was really hot and the water pressure was strong. The room we had was on the main road, but we were not bothered by any noise from the cars on the street or people on the sidewalk. The hairdryer didn't work on the first morning there. I put in a call to the front desk and the issue was solved by a replacement within a half an hour of my call. Breakfast was plentiful and good. The a la carte items were a nice addition. Every staff member that we interacted with was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. It seems as if the room was only partially renovated. The beds/bedding was new, but the carpets, curtains, and desk could use an upgrade. The safe in the room did not work.
A pleasant stay in London
The hotel location is convenient, staff very helpful, good value for money. We had a pleasant stay in London. The hotel has good facilities and the staff is very courteous. Only note, the pillow selection could be improved to provide a better quality of sleep
Our home away from home in London
In London, you have a lot of options for places to stay—you are spoilt for choice. Yet, time and time again, we always return to this lovely hotel. Why? The location is central and close to my favorite museums, like the V&A 😍. The rooms are well appointed with form mattresses and crisp linens. The entire hotel is clean and constantly being cleaned. The food. Hotel food often appears as an afterthought but not here. Don’t miss their breakfast buffet. It’s epic and the quality of food and service is tip top. Last—what really makes a hotel shine is its staff. People make the experience. Staff are well trained and go the extra mile. Ruth checked us in and saw we were weary from a long journey and immediately got us an early check in and even went to get us coffee. Similarly, Vinayak in the dining room also went above and beyond for us on more than one occasion. Vinayak and Ruth are true hospitality professionals and it’s because of staff like them that we are so loyal to this hotel.

I have a reservation for Kasama Chicago I listed but it’s not showing up because the listed opening hours are only until 3 or 4 pm. My reservation is for their dinner service at 5. Is there a way I can change the times myself?
