NIKU X Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Let's first talk about the parking.
It's located in the Wilshire Grand Building where the Intercontinental Hotel is. You have to use the Valet, there is no self parking. I posted the parking rates, but it's pretty much $15 with validation. We were there for almost 3 hours and paid $16.50 with the 10% city tax. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor. You'll see it on the button when you enter in the elevator. Walk to the right once you exit. The restaurant is pretty big with very high ceilings. Unfortunately, being on the 2nd floor doesn't give you much views of the DTLA area. We ran a bit late and had to call in to let them know. When we arrived, we had to wait 5-10 minutes before our table was ready. Very strange because at 7pm on a Thursday, the restaurant wasn't even half full. After a while, we were led to our table and I noticed that pretty much all of the tables had a built in grill from what I can see. Not sure if the tables by the windows have the grills. My wife and I noticed how hard the seats were. It was all wood and sitting there for almost 3 hours was not very fun. To this day, I don't understand why restaurants don't provide comfy seats instead of these hard seats and pretty much kind of ruin your dining experience. Especially since they offer tasting menus and everybody knows that this type of dining experience will last at least 2+ hours. We chose the Yakiniku Tasting Menu for $230pp. I noticed how slow and how off the pacing of our dining experience was. I think it took about 15-20 minutes for our appetizer to come out, which was the Garlic Albacore. This shouldn't take that long since it's raw and doesn't need any cooking. Once that came out, the rest of our food starting to come out at a better pace. My one big issue was that when they brought out the meats, it sat there for at least 20-25 minutes before our server came by to start cooking it. He did a fantastic job at explaining all of the food, sauces and how they are made. That was great. At first, I thought maybe they are letting it thaw or come up to room temp. But the couple at the table next to us was on a much faster pace and they ordered the same tasting menu and was seated at least 30 minutes after us. Their meat probably sat for about 5-10 minutes and the manager ending up grilling it for them. Overall, I would not come back here because I don't feel that the food was all that great. It was good, but not worth the $230pp you are going to be spending here. Plus, in all honesty, I left still feeling hungry because the portions were so small and the wait time/pace didn't help either. All in all, we spent about $760 with 3 drinks, the tasting menu and the A5 upgrade. I've been to Yakiya in Pasadena and the food was more mind blowing and only cost $125pp. I know that Niku X has only been opened for about a year now and it kind of feels like it to. Sorry, but I would skip this place and go some where else.
Brunch of champions!! My girlfriends and I came to
Brunch of champions!! My girlfriends and I came to celebrate our best friend's 30th birthday last weekend and we can't stop raving about the experience. The food and service were absolutely exceptional. We ordered wagyu , tuna crispy rice, sushi and sashimi platters and my favorite dish was the make your own handroll experience. Which comes with yellowtail, salmon, wagyu and tuna. Another highlight was the potato's. We definitely got two orders of those lol. I was shocked this place wasn't absolutely packed. But it was a rainy Sunday morning. The ambience is so nice. Felt like we were in Miami a little bit! We'll definitely be back!!
A 10/10 experience I will always recommend.
Had the best tasting grilled meat. The ambience, the quiet setting, the cohesive staff, I loved it all and will be back to actually get the course meals.
I love this place.
The food is great and so is the ambiance. Service was awesome too! Me and my friends loved it. Can't wait to come back!
Had an absolutely wonderful time here for brunch.
I was pleasantly surprised by how attentive and kind the service was. Our table was celebrating a birthday and a few people had allergies and food restrictions which the staff navigated really well. Now to the food.... Incredible! Presentation was a 10/10 and the food tasted as good as it looked! I cant wait to try Niku X for Dinner! Definitely try the potatoes, waygu skewers and the sashimi was top!
Amazing food, fabulous service, 10/10 would recommend.
These potatoes were life changing. Fresh sushi. Great place to celebrate a birthday.
Located inside the Intercontinental Hotel in DTLA.
Good food and excellent customer service. It will not Dossapoint!

The food was really good! I really liked the bone marrow
The food was really good! I really liked the bone marrow and the wagyu sando. The cocktails were really good as well, especially the sunomono margarita! The service was great too! Our server Jason was super nice and attentive. He also helped cook our meat orders for us, and it turned out really good. Overall great food and service.
I came here with my boyfriend's family for his birthday and
I came here with my boyfriend's family for his birthday and I was very captivated by the experience. We ordered their Tomahawk steak, Wagyu, and Ribeye steak with some bone marrow as well. The steak was served with a side of Himalayan sea salt which I could not get enough of. Each steak was very tender and flavorful the ribeye being especially my favorite. We also ordered their wagyu fried rice, which stole my heart with its flavor. Along with the steaks we ordered cocktails, and I believe their cocktails are very unique, like for instance I ordered the Matcha colada and it was delicious with its coconut and matcha blend. The service was great as well and handled a big party that represents the restaurant best, with grace and elegance. The ambiance is very romantic and upscale with warm lighting with modern minimal japanese decor. If you have the opportunity to come to LA and want an elegant and expensive night out you be disappointed with this restaurant
Personal experience
Very good! Excellent service. I'll request the booth area next time. Also, might be a nice place for a drink or two. It's on the expensive side, but the steaks are high quality and worth it:)

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
