Basicly outside dining room, so warm humid weather can make an uncomfortable dining experience for visitors. I was there this November and the weather was pretty good. They do have a small room called the VIP room that is air con'd. Don't know if they charge extra. Had the chili crab which was just ok. Their prices aren't bad compared to other crab places in town though. Will try others for quality comparison. There are probably better places. My fav Chinese resto back home makes crab with curry or garlic & green onion that I find superior.

Hands down best chili crab for my taste buds ! Spicy , savory , and Mantou the best as well. I've had chili crab several times , but either too sweet or not enough spice. Also you might wanna try the razor clams ! Best ever. Condiments provided also top notch. Enough said , I'm hungry.

Got a white pepper crab here - this is what they're famous for. So stick to that. People seem to be hit or miss for the chili crab but we didn't get a chance to try it. There's an option on the menu for the chili crab sauce + mantous but they were sold out by the time we got here. Also - I expected an actual restaurant, but this was more of a bunch of hawker stands stringed together. Which means you're exposed to the elements of Singapore. So if you expect a nice meal with air con, you're out of luck here. As far as the food goes - I enjoyed it. However, I'd say this tasted like a classic Chinese preparation of seafood (think of the scallion and ginger flavors) but with a kick of white pepper. It was good, but I'm not sure it was worth the price (roughly $90 a kg when we went). Additionally, there's additional charges for EVERYTHING. So decline them when they try to bring you an appetizer or even the wet naps. Just bring your own water & tissues. There's a bathroom available for you to wash your hands.

My mom and I loved the steamed razor clam! Fresh, tender, amazing sauce. My mom ordered 3 of these and she claimed to get 4 next time lolTook down one star for that I'm not a fan of their chili crab, the sauce tastes like homemade tomato scrambled egg (u know what I'm taking about if ur Chinese
Be the first to ReplyGood taste, good service.
Chinese style mix Simgapore style. No air conditioner but not very hot.

Drinking bear with ice cup. really care small details.
Be the first to ReplyDel Monte ketchup.
If you want Del Monte ketchup to be the primary flavor you taste when ordering expensive chili crab, this is the place for you. Very disappointed.Would have been one star but gave a second one due to a purse storage container next to the table.

It has been years since we were here and I recall they do have a Chili Crab sauce that is rather different from the rest - better that is. After picking up me boy from Mandai on route back to Marine Parade thought the logical path would be Geylang Branch. Got to say service was extremely attentive and to the extend that it was a little a pushy as each staff tries hard to up-sell. And yes even the paper apron cost $0.60/piece. The saddest part was that the Chili Crab Sauce came in as a little reddish as oppose to somewhat orangy/brown? The worst is that at S$112 (before the ++) the crab just was not fresh. We basically ordered the same dishes as we did at Jumbo as a comparison and again both the Baby Kailan and Mee Goreng fell short. If you are looking for ambiance this is not the place to be. But seriously with this price best we head back to our fav - Jumbo East Coast where we NEVER EVER have a bad crab day in so many times we have been there through the years.
Be the first to ReplyGood place to have chili crabs.
Second only to the other famous crab eating place at the East Coast Rd. Love the balanced taste of the chili sauce. We ordered crabs and 3 other veggies and tofu dishes. Just realized that this place also serves crocodile and deer meat dishes. This place also offers fresh durian, a bit more expensive than other places. Actually this place is $$$$

White pepper crab is really good and the quality was great compared to other places. The crab meat was sweet and does not stick to the shell. I had been to other places where the sauce was good but the crab meat would stick to the shell. The razor clam was also very good.

It's our first time in Singapore and we decided to try out seafood here since we heard Singapore is famous for it. My family decided to eat here thanks to reviews but it was super expensive for what you get.I am rating this place one star because our waiter, Ajao, got our order wrong. We asked for butter but she gave us white pepper which was too spicy for me and I wasnt able to eat the 400$ crab. My whole family knew I didn't ask for the spicy but we didn't realize until after they started eating it. Ajao did not want to correct her own mistake. She told me that if I wanted to eat, I would need to buy another one. We asked if we can exchange the one she got wrong but she kept saying to buy another crab. I just ended up not eating. My family isn't rich but we wanted to have a treat, and unfortunately our experience just ended up sour.

This place is amazing! In kind of a seedy area of Singapore but the have a basket to place your valuables in to evade the common pick pockets of the area. The staff was excellent and very attentive to my needs. I couldn't make up my mind between the chili crab or the white pepper crab and the waitress advised I go with both! Lol. I ordered the chili crab and the white pepper prawn, both were absolutely amazing! Highly recommend if you are looking for a great meal.
Be the first to ReplyWhite pepper crab $80/kg.
Kind of pricey as Newport back in California you can feed a family of four for same price. The crab was pretty good. Reason for three stars is the service. Worst I've had in Singapore. Took forever to get our rice. Also I felt almost conned. If I hadn't read the reviews beforehand I wouldn't have known to not touch anything they put on the table. The waiters will put appetizers and wet wipes on the table without telling you it's not free. Thankfully we didn't eat anything so waiters took it away. They also try to upsell you on other entrees. Don't get suckered and just stick to the crab. Also their tea sucks. Costs $2 for Chinese tea and it was basically their version of a Lipton tea bag- bitter. Also they automatically charge 10% service to the bill, but service was the worst. Oh and other restaurants don't charge for service so that was not fun to find out.
