Another enjoyable meal.
Enjoyed our last visit so much, we decided to return a month later. Very similar experience - very warm welcome and generally great food. My artichoke starter was lovely, as was my monkfish main. My wife enjoyed a "proper" duck terrine but her vegetarian hispi cabbage main was definitely a miss - the blue cheese dressing was very overpowering and we both thought it dominated the dish completely. Pity, as the rest of the food was operating at a very competent level. The menu is pretty restricted (as it changes daily) so that means you can be "forced" towards something you might not normally order...like hispi cabbage! Again, not cheap but neither was Nioze too expensive for the quality on offer. Hispi excepted, another very enjoyable evening so we'll return. Intending to leave it until we're well into summer, and see how the menu changes with the season?

probably the nearest to eating in France without the inconvenience of having to travel there. We ate early, 6pm but the place rapidly filled up. Table service was attentive (good) but not intrusive. The wine selection is excellent and not the usual nuts London prices. A lovely sauvignon "explosif" and a silk smooth primitivo. The pork tapas in I presume panko are a must. I shared a "special" of pigeon pitivier with fois gras and mushroom duxelle: was superb and I doubt can find anywhere else in London, England or indded most of France outside the eponymous town. Fianlly...isle floatantte... a perfect dinner

Best London meal in a long time. Great buzzy not busy atmosphere, wonderful welcome and excellent wine list. It’s the kind of place that you want to keep secret but the secret is already out!
Be the first to ReplyGreat "fine dining" option in central London. A real find.
Getting exasperated by progressively more exorbitant pricing and 15% + service charges (20% at Sola!), we ended up at Noize thanks to Andy Hayler's reviews. Why have we not been here before - I work 5 minutes away?! Small, friendly, very pleasant upstairs dining room. The menu of the day is displayed charmingly on a chair placed next to your table. This was very good, solid, food - nothing flashy but very expertly prepared indeed. My wife's crab cake was the best either of us had ever tasted (and that includes Pierre Koffman's!). Only criticisms (and these were minor) was that the burnt onion puree that came with my delicious beef short rib was pretty scant, and the "Mac 'n' cheese" side was nice enough but I thought there were better options to partner the lovely beef? That may just be me as I'm not a fan of meat and pasta together. Big wine list and, unusually, the mark-ups weren't crazy (I buy fine wine at auction so know what the stuff costs), especially by London standards. Service couldn't be described as lightening fast, but this seems to be a relatively small operation, and we were enjoying ourselves so didn't mind. Overall, we enjoyed our visit a lot and, although this is hardly "cheap", the price was very reasonable indeed given that competition is pricing itself further and further away from "everyday" diners....and thankfully, service was 12.5%. We will definitely be back, and probably pretty soon.

Mathieu and his team are fantastic. The welcome is always warm and the service good. The dishes are unique and always delicious. This restaurant is popular in the wine trade, has an excellent wine list and (I believe) very much welcomes customers to bring their own bottles for a fair corkage rate. I have dined here circa 10 times and never had a meal that wasn't memorable in a good way. Hopefully the fact it was busy on a cold January Tuesday evening is a testament to the quality they are displaying. On this most recent trip, I asked in advance (though very last minute) if it would be possible to have a main dish prepared outside of the menu items, which was delivered with no fuss and very much appreciated.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent chef owned restaurant serving imaginative French cuisine
This chef owned restaurant offers excellent food at a very good price. It was recommended to us by a friend who is both French and a sommelier. It's not that easy to find genuine French food at a reasonable price in central London, but this is a gem. I said "genuine French" not to imply the usual old warhorses, but the sort of fresh, inventive food that an imaginative French chef serves up. The menu changes frequently depending on what's in season, but the delectable gougeres are always on offer. On our last visit I thoroughly enjoyed the warmed smoked haddock starter, served with lime chutney and an onion bhaji that added a wonderful chewy crunch. On a previous visit, I had the delectable partridge with stuffed cabbage, so this time I went for the loin of venison with red wine/walnut sauce, served with potato pancake and haricots verts, which was scrumptious and much better than the venison I had recently at a famous and pricey restaurant in Mayfair. My husband loved the roasted plaice with mussels, bok choy, and harissa. We're not dessert people, but they look luscious. The wine list is very good and not overpriced. The service is attentive and genial. The room is very comfortable, though I would recommend reserving a table upstairs. Reservations are a must. This place has lots of regulars. You will enjoy your meal here, and probably be greeted by the owner Matthieu himself.
Be the first to ReplyA nice evening at Noize in London
I tried Noize for first time and it was a very pleasant experience!! The food (mushrooms and cod) was excellent, the staff very pleasant, we did not wait long until the plates were served and the price very logical . I will definitely be back !
Be the first to ReplyNoise is a special dining experience!
A completely welcoming space - truly a special restaurant! We had wonderful food: crab cake - plaice. Beautiful presentation; delicious and memorable food experience. Plus Melinda is someone who invites you in and makes you feel like you are dining in her own home. So glad we went there!

French food at its finest. Wine list to die for. Atmosphere warm and inviting. Staff attentive. The owner Mathieu is welcoming and makes you feel valued. Everything was above and beyond expectation. Noize is not just a place to eat and drink. It is so much more. It’s an experience. I would say it is up there with the best of the best. It is the whole package. Beverly Miller

Fabulous dining experience. Lovely simple menus with real thought put into the ingredients and where they come from. Genuine and caring team behind the restaurant. Fantastic wines & expertise. An all round lovely experience.

Excellent well prepared lunch and excellent service in this small restaurant today. We started with a couple of snacks rather than a starter and these were, although small, lovely and beautifully presented. Our mains of osso bucco and roast chicken were plentiful and delicious. As a desert we had the chocolate tart with crème fraiche ice cream which complimented the richness of the tart. It was definitely the best restaurant meal that I’ve had for quite some time.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and wine in a relaxed atmosphere
This was booked by a colleague for a work event. On viewing the menu it was very different to what I personally usually choose. However I thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine and found the service to be attentive but not intrusive. The hake was superb and the chocolate tart was amazing. Our first bottle of wine, the Primitivo, was reasonably priced and excellent. I would definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful meal, wine and staff all amazing
A gem of a restaurant.... Small but well executed menu. Service was top notch. Highly recommend for a modern French evening out.
Be the first to ReplyA classy gem in Fitzrovia
What a find! A classy paired back elegant restaurant with beautiful simple tasty seasonal food. The prices are reasonable for Fitzrovia. Main courses on the board all less than £30. It’s not a huge menu but there are choices for meat, fish and vegetarians. The pasta we had was delicious. And an amazing wine list. It’s seems there are two…one for “money no object” wine and a shorter list with options under £40. And even better you can take your own wine for £20 corkage, a brilliant option. The seating is nicely spaced out, apparently they left it like this post covid distancing and it is far more intimate than other similar restaurants were you feel like you are dinning with the next table. Highly recommend.

Friends and I visited Noize on Saturday evening and we cannot speak any more highly of the restaurant and staff. The staff were so pleasant and could not do enough for us, and then wow the food! The food was brilliant with great gluten free option. Lots of wine options with a number of price ranges. I can’t wait to visit again

Amazing dinner with friends at Noize. The service and how they look after guests is another level compared to other restaurants. The attention to the smallest of the details is unbelievable, especially from the propietor Mathieu. His wine knowledge and professional service made you feel you are in the right place. Wine list is amazing and the food is fantastic. The squid starter and the pollock main are mind blowing. You can bring your own wines too and they only charge some corkage. Crazy. A must try restaurant for wine lovers and foodies!

Efficient, friendly but not overbearing service, tasty, well cooked and reasonably priced for the location and overall standard of food, atmosphere and experience.
A real delight from booking all the way through. Still relatively few reviews but most seem to point towards the trajectory of this restaurant and the word is getting out.
The slow cooked beef main course was a particular highlight but all meals were of an extremely high standard and presented beautifully.
We have already recommended Noize to family members who are in London in a couple of weeks.
A lovely evening meal
Excellent food and service. Lovely to come to an owner managed restaurant where they obviously care deeply about the food they present and how they do that. A great experience.
Be the first to ReplyThe 5 star reviews are right!
We have eaten here before and enjoyed it, but this was the first visit post lockdown. Tasty, well cooked food, an interesting and varied wine list and excellent service at reasonable prices for this part of town. What's not to like?
It's quiet and understated and well worth a visit. Just go!
Excellent French restaurant
We had a first-rate meal at Noize at the beginning of our short visit to London. We chose this restaurant on the basis of reviews on this site and elsewhere and we made the right decision. The food was excellent. Sophisticated and imaginative without being pretentious, and delicious. We each had a fish dish (poached halibut and sea bass). Both were excellent, as were the starters and the bread that we were given on arrival. There was a delay in bringing our starters; the staff realised we were getting a little impatient (without our complaining) and apologised, explaining that there had been a difficulty in the kitchen. We had ordered a glass of wine each. They did not charge us for this by way of aplology, which we very much appreciated. Service was very good. Our waitress kept filling up our glasses of water. We felt well looked after. We'd be happy to go again - prehaps on a future visit to London.

Food was excellent, as was the service. Simply done but awesomely good. Will definitely return. Superb.
We both had the beef with hispi cabbage. Sublime.
The best liquer coffee ever.
Great wine choice and fab sommelier.
A great, and very relaxed experience.
A wonderful restaurant serving wonderful French food
We paid our first visit to Noize for dinner on 3rd Dec. 2021. We were given a warm welcome at the entrance door by the patronne and proceeded to have a delicious meal of French food in the company of a room-full of what were French-speaking diners who clearly already knew where to come for some of the finest French food in London. The service by, I believe, the patron was faultless and the ambience was cosy and comfortable. The only minor minus factor was the fact that there is a bar in the basement below the restaurant and which shares the same access. This being a Friday night there was a fair amount of noise rising from the basement at one point. We will certainly be returning here.
Be the first to ReplyCried? I cried, because it has become so bad!
We won't come here again - ever since the last chef left, this place no longer serves anything resembling fine dining - the only nod to that is them giving one a tiny meal, a poor deal.
Their menu choices are the same for months, and even when they do change they're just variations on the same thing, the confit salmon starter was so overprepared that it did not resemble confit at all, the beef carpaccio starter was so tiny and thin that one could not taste the meat, really a mean serving: you would be laughed at if you dared to serve this in Italy!
The main meal meat offering was a pork chop or game...no imagination!
Don't come here, it's the change in chef that's the problem, also their main motivation is not pride in their reputation, but only to fleece their customers.
And goodbye.............................
Brilliant food wine and service to match
Well what an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!
Had to put this on the day after the night before...as It deserves the ultimate praise
I attended the restaurant as part of a company dinner and wine tasting event. We were seated in the private room downstairs.
What Can I say...words fail me...but I will have a really good try to put into words the WONDERFUL WONDERFUL Experience all 11 people had last night.
At a time of uncertainty and social distancing, one thing is Certain the management and super hard working staff at NOIZE go above beyond, and beyond again to ensure you have a great time.
Of course all COVID protocols are followed from entering the restaurant, and you soon forget that we are living with the dreadful virus as the staff go about their safety, precautions without fuss or impinging on you.
We were fortunate enough to have the private room downstairs, Matthieu and his staff are warm welcoming and attentive beyond belief, again without being in your face, attentive.
The room is cosy without being pompous, and too corporate, its like being in someones, kitchen eating out.
The wine list is expensive but if you love your wine and know a thing or two this is the place for you, its an experience. The sommelier is well versed in many many wines and the way you are served and kept topped up...without error and with great respect is a credit to Matthieu who himself is cool, humble, and hospitable.
The food is out of this world we felt we had won the lottery with our 4 Course menu...potions were sufficient from Snack to 1/2 course....leaving you wanting more, and gazing at partners plates, hoping they didn't like their food and you could mop up...alas...EVERYBODY ate every scrap...
Lamb Croquettes bursting with flavours and Pork belly in a bbq sauce immediately ignited my taste buds and started off our journey to food heaven. the non invasive service from the friendly staff was welcome and they described the dishes as they brought them out to gasps of wow's....The Crispy Pork with celeriac and Roe on toast were sensational. Not to mention the mini...Roast Beef and Yorkshire...Oh I mentioned it...Couldn't help...
I and several others could not believe the flavour and text of the CONFIT SALMON, it melted in your mouth and as a 'fennel virgin' I was taken to another realm...a big fan now (thank you Chef).
My colleagues gushed over the Beef Carpaccio with pickled mushroom,
Our third course of this extraordinary journey brought me Venison wellington with Pomme Puree ...not mash...Pomme puree....I was mashed ! by the flavour of the wellington, the pastry was lucious, the Venison cooked to perfection and the Jus ...well if i could of just had a bowl of that I would.
Cheese with delightful crispy crackers were a lovely surprise before ....
Dessert , Well Dessert was our quietest part of the night as well all tucked into our Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Clementine (luxurious and comforting) and Ile Flottante ,Caramel sauce, was equally spellbinding. Those who had the Chocolate pot with pistachio are still not speaking, they were just left with a smile of satisfaction.
The lovely service continued with Coffee Tea...or in my case Mint Tea in the most elegant Glass Mini teapot...Thank you Ladies
I would like to congratulate Matthieu and his team for creating a sensational place to eat and drink in comfort, and homeliness...it is really a great find and he achieves what he tries to ...in his blog on the WEBSITE...I wish you well always, and will not forget that experience, thank you on behalf of All 11 fortunates who ate and drank so well here last night.

apologies if I went on on ,,,but if you find something special...which we are all searching for in these difficult times...we have to shout it...NOIZE is one of those Special things. (Double smiley Face)
