Incredible, delicious, perfect, fast.
Yummy Hong Kong chicken perfectly breaded not soggy. The vegetable gyoza was also fantastic. They even have sticky rice! Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Cute and clean inside. Great fast service. Go here!! You won't regret it.

This place is amazing I love it so much this isn't ANYTHING BAD but a grain of rice went down the wrong way and I wanted to drink some water to wash it down then my tastebuds were bombarded with a questionable taste of water absolutely amazing but maybe the water needs a better taste.....

Some dishes were very salty. Most were bang on. Service was quick and friendly. The kitchen was also quick and kind to remake a dish that had been input incorrectly. Ask about the cinema ticket special on Tuesday nights.
Be the first to ReplyWe were there on a Tuesday evening, around 6 PM.
No tables available but they had seats at the bar, which was fine with us. We ordered the Lentils as a starter, a Tiger and Heineken beer. The Lentils are essentially Fallafel Patties on sliced vegetables and a Tahini-like sauce. They tasted okay but I wouldn't order them again. As Mains we had the Lamb Rendang and Tofu Vegetable Stir-fry. The Rendang was really nice and the taste came pretty close to what I've experienced in Indonesia. The Tofu dish was pretty decent with good spice. We had to wait over an hour between starters and main as the restaurant got busy. It annoyed us that tables around us were served before us despite arriving after us. The personnel is friendly albeit stretched when we were there. They did take our coffees off the final bill. I would definitely go back for the Lamb Rendang if in Kilkenny.

California-hawaii couple here, have eaten Asian fusion all over the world and Aroi is pretty exemplary. The lamb shank rendang and the nasi goreng in particular were fantastic. Well worth a stop
Be the first to ReplyVery nice restaurant just off the Main Street.
I had the Teriyaki Duck Donburi it was very good with just a hint of spiciness. The pickled ginger on top was a nice contrast to the rest of the dish. Others had lamb shank, Isaan roast duck, and yellow curry. Everyone thought their meals were very good. None of us finished all of our meals because there was lots of food. Also each lunch item came with a scoop of gelato or sorbet. Very nice touch and very good.

This place gets very busy so call ahead and make a reservation! We got the sticky ribs for an appetizer and the crunchy lotus salad and they were both delicious! The Thai fried rice and pad Thai were also yummy. Definitely a must try if you are in Kilkenny!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best Thai fusion food.
The ambiance is very modern, the food was great, and reasonably priced. We had the Khao Pad Chicken fried rice which was really good and had the Pad Kar Prow which was our favorite (though may be a little too spicy for some). All in all, Aroi is definitely worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyWe got the lunch special with an entree and ice cream.
The taste was average at best and the service was pretty slow. Thai food is typically an explosion of flavor, but that certainly wasn't the case here.

Traveling to Kilkenny from Dublin, I was looking forward to trying some new restaurants in this quaint little town. While I debated about getting some irish food while over here, my heart ended up taking me to Aroi- both for its inexpensive lunch sets as well as their high quality Malay and Thai food... and let me tell you, no regrets! The interior reminds me of a hip spot that turns into a club at night. There is a large open seating area in the middle with natural ceiling light coming inside. Unfortunately it was a gloomy day in Kilkenny, but I was impressed with the interior design creating a comfortable atmosphere to dine in during lunch.Aroi offered up some great lunch deals at €10 which includes free gelato for dessert. Those offerings included typical Southeast Asian fare such as Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, etc. Not entirely "street food" in my opinion, but it works. However, my eyes were set on their Nasi Goreng which was bit pricier but ended up being some of the best I've ever eaten.Their Nasi Goreng includes chicken and prawns, a crispy shrimp chip, sunnyside egg, and some satay on the side. Blended together, this hearty dish filled my stomach with amazing flavors. The rice was stir fried very well with a slight pan-fried taste that I enjoy. None of it was dried out either so the dish really felt complete. To top it off, my strawberry gelato was the perfect way to end my meal. I wholeheartedly enjoyed my experience dining at Aroi and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kilkenny.

Up until this point the food had been sub par or "good" at best. This place was not too fancy but nice enough not to feel like a hole in the wall. Food was delicious. Mostly Thai style and curry flavors. Very good if you like Thai/Indian/Asian food. We had pad Thai and pineapple fried rice as well as the yellow curry. All were very good. After talking with the server he mentioned that they were rated best Asian style street food award Ireland.

The staff are very helpful, the food is great value (mains are €11), there's a good buzz in here at the weekends too. Booking a table is a must as this is a very popular spot. I'm not a huge fan of any of their dishes however and find a lot of them are very bland unless you like spicy food (which I do not). They're okay but not anything that I would crave or overly recommend.
