We were in NYC this weekend for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at the Smithsonian and wanted to have an authentic Hawaiian dinner. We set reservations for 8 at Noreetuh, as it was also three of our birthdays that same weekend. The server was awesome, the place was packed, and we had such a great time. The Hawaiian vibe was strong, and the food was fantastic. We shared some appetizers, and I had the crab stir-fried rice. My sister, who is vegan, got the Cow Noodles, and my wife got the Teriyaki bowl. They even made special dishes for the kids, which might not be a regular thing, but it was much appreciated. The desserts were incredible, especially the pineapple. If I were to make any suggestions, it would be to order more. Not because I wasn't filled up, but because the flavors were so great I wanted to try more dishes. The only negative was that the coffee was weak, but I'm used to Starbucks, which is probably too strong. Overall, Noreetuh provided an amazing dining experience with delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Noreetuh was AMAZING! I got the Kimchi Fried Rice and it was the most satisfying and delicious meal. The flavor was amazing and so fresh. The egg on top was also a plus. I also got the Yellowtail Musubi which was so fresh and delicious. We ended off the meal with a Coconut Passionfruit Sundae which was delicious!! Highly recommend it. The space of the restaurant is a bit tight but if you are able to snag a reservation it is so worth it. Plus, the service was incredible. This restaurant is a true hidden gem.

The fried chicken and musubis are some of the best in the city! The mochiko fried chicken is light, crispy, and juicy. It comes with two sauces - spicy mayo or soy glaze. Both sauces complement the chicken well. There are many options of musubis - my favorites were the galbi, yellowtail, scallop, and the spicy tuna tartare. The servers are very nice! We were going to celebrate a birthday and they wrote happy birthday on the menu which was such a sweet touch! The restaurant isn't that big but there are two sections to the restaurant so there are a decent amount of tables. There are many Polaroids on the wall. The prices do add up so the bill will end up being rather high. I would recommend skipping the Mentaiko spaghetti or the rices - the portions are rather small for the price.

Incredible Hawaiian restaurant! Every single bite we took we'd say how incredible it was!!! Our server was friendly and attentive. Small restaurant so definitely make a reservation!

I ordered the salmon poke appetizer, crispy skin salmon for the main course, and the brรปlรฉed Hawaiian Pineapple for dessert. Everything was great. This was my time eating poke, and I liked it. This one had a bit of a kick because of chipotle sauce and I mostly avoid hot food, but the waiter frequently refilled the water. The brรปlรฉed Hawaiian Pineapple was my favorite part. Definitely would recommend this place.

My first time in a restaurant dedicated to Hawaiian cuisine, and it certainly did not disappoint. My husband and I found this spot looking for places to go for NYC's winter restaurant week. We both decided to do the 3 course meal with wine pairing, and I would without a doubt recommend doing the wine pairing. It was absolutely worth it. Our waiter put so much care into selecting the wines, and even let me try one first because it was a wine I usually didn't like. The appetizers were wonderful. I had the berkshire pork cutlet which came with the most amazing katsu sauce, and my husband had the grilled tuna belly which he entirely enjoyed. For my entree I had the garlic shrimp bowl and my husband had the mochiko chicken loco moco. Our plates were both entirely empty. We finished off this kings Hawaiian bread budding and brรปlรฉed Hawaiian pineapple. So yummy and the perfect way to finish off an amazing meal! I will definitely be recommend this spot to people looking for a date night or who have friends coming in from out of town. Certainly glad we discovered Noreetuh!!

Noreetuh serves Hawaiian cuisine nestled in the heart of the East Village. The place is bustling on a Saturday night, and since we made a reservation, we were seated right away. Upon perusing their menu, it would be a crime not to start our dinner with a couple of musubi. We had galbi and spam and cheese. Both dishes were flavorful. We then followed it with a heritage pork chop and half mochiko fried chicken, served with Hawaiian macaroni salad and King's Hawaiian roll. Overall, the dishes were flavorful but slightly on the drier side. Perhaps adding some soup to the menu could enhance the experience? The service was a bit slow, but it was courteous and friendly. We were expecting more but were not blown away.

Spicy spam- needed some type of sauce was very dry. I know it's spam but it was tasty and could be better by simple either spicy mayo or a little acidity. Mac Salad- missing seasoning. A little salt and pepper would go a long way here. Hawaiian rolls- good although not super soft. Would have super benefited from a little spicy or compound butter. Decor- lackluster just old Polaroids all over. Szechuan Bol- good but dry. Fried chicken- very good. On the platter it was weird there was only 4 cut up pickle pieces. One theme I kept finding in the meal was dryness,

Noreetuh is a cute Hawaiian restaurant in the East Village that is vegan-friendly! I love that they use Omni pork as a pork substitute to offer some awesome vegan dishes. They can make their "spam" musubi vegan which is AMAZING. Omni pork is delicious and the spicy spam with vegan mayo (YES vegan mayo) and jalapeno was a great combination. Also tried the Omni pork potstickers- another hit which was perfectly pan fried & tasted great!. Lastly tried the black bean chow noodles which were super tasty. The black bean sauce is delicious and the noodles have a great texture- perfectly al dente. I believe it is house made. The noodles were my favorite dish! I hope Noreetuh continues to have many more vegan options. Maybe consider vegan salmon so they can make vegan poke :) Would love a nice dessert option as well. They also have a bar and variety of cocktails. Service was very friendly and speedy! Had a tiny snafu with one of the dishes that was quickly resolved with no hesitation. Reservations are recommended at peak times. Would return as not many restaurants offer Omni pork!

We got a last minute reservation here, had never heard of it before. The food was delicious! And they have a great, extensive wine list as well. Highly recommend and will definitely go back soon!

I came here for restaurant week and would recommend having a reservation for groups. I got the Berkshire pork cutlet, Mochiko Chicken Loco Moco, and the pineapple upside down cake. The food was tasty and good quality but if I could go back I would have chosen a lighter first course. Both the pork and chicken were fried so I wish I chose a different combo of courses that wasn't so heavy. The pineapple upside down cake was delicious but they don't specify if you order it for one person, there's an $8 surcharge. The menu states it's for 2 people but doesn't disclose the additional charge even though 2 other menu items state a supplemental charge. Someone in my group is vegetarian and they didn't have a variety of options to choose from. However, the quality and taste of those courses were good. I also tried the Chocolate huapia sundae, guava cake, and bruleed Hawaiian pineapple. I didn't prefer the sundae because of how it was drowning in whipped cream and how salty the crackers were. The guava cake was very flavorful and sweet. The pineapple was delicious but it didn't stand out.Overall the food was good quality and filling but not mind blowing enough to come back again.

I ordered take out from here and the experience was very smooth. The name, Noreetuh, is the Korean word for playground, which is interesting only because it's a Hawaiian place. So don't come here expecting Korean food!I got 2 musubis: the spicy tuna and the galbi. They were both very good and warm. I think the price is reasonable. It's as if you got a sushi roll but it's in a musubi form. For the entree, I got the grilled chicken teriyaki bowl which was smaller than I expected for 17 dollars but it was very delicious! I brought my leftovers (the musubis really filled me) to work the next day and as the food was getting microwaved, the delicious aroma brought in a lot of attention!

came with a few friends for restaurant week sunday brunch -- great service, solid food (great desserts) a bit pricey for what it is though imo. restaurant week deal is 3 course (app, entree, dessert) for $45 (came out to ~$56 with tax and tip).app: tuna poke bowl was solid (8/10)! pretty good fish quality and the seaweed tasted great too. nothing like the poke in hawaii but not bad for sureentree: garlic shrimp bowl was also solid (7.5/10) a bit small portion but the rice was super fluffy and the shrimp was well-seasoned. tried my friend's mochiko chicken loco moco and that was really good!! i honestly liked it more (8.5/10)dessert: i would rank as pineapple upside down cake (9/10), guava cake (8.5/10), haupia pie (8/10).overall solid food but nothing mind blowing, portions were a bit small and prices were a bit high. service was very nice though and the interior is very cute!

Came here based on recs from a friend and was happy I tried this place!Turns out it happened to be restaurant week when I came so I was thrilled to be able to try their menu. Came with a friend so was able to try a good amount of the food here. For the appetizers, we got the pork katsu and the tuna belly. The pork katsu was quite big and cooked well. Pretty tasty. The tuna belly was well cooked, soft and tender, but to be honest wasn't my favorite dish. Tasted a bit like chicken, but in this context wasn't the best combination because this would essentially equate to eating a plate of sliced grilled chicken. Maybe just not my thing! Next, we had the garlic shrimp bowl which I had been recommended by others. It hit the spot - the rice was cooked well (not mushy but not too hard either, nice and airy), the garlicky and buttery flavor profile of the dish permeated throughout the entire bowl, and the shrimp was large, numerous, and tender! Then came the wagyu steak. Delicious! So tender. Perfectly cooked. But then came the dish that changed the whole meal. The upside down pineapple cake was probably one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Freshly baked (we waited for a bit after our entrees for it but so so so worth it), warm, sweet, crunchy edges, warm pineapple, delicious ice cream. We were so full after the entrees but managed to devour the cake immediately. Service was friendly and very attentive. We tried a few of the lychee cocktails which were sweet and tasty as well. Come here for the pineapple cake!! It's amazing.

We started off with some soju gimlets and a lychee highball, I definitely preferred the latter since I have an affinity for sweets. Go for the soju gimlet if you like something more puckery. The musubi was everything I dreamed it would, and then more. We got the spam and the braised short rib -- while both were great, the latter knocked the former out of the park. The garlic shrimp bowl was great as well -- nice flavor combo, though nothing too memorable. The brรปlรฉed pineapple, however, is something I will never forget. You must get it. And don't forget to ask your server to take a photo of your table on a Polaroid, so you can hang up your photo on the wall!

Guess I had higher expectations for this place but I feel like the food was just okay for how expensive it was and how small the portions were. The musubis were good but $6 for a regular spam one? I can't really justify that. The fried rice was average and after several dishes and still not feeling full, we got the friend chicken as well, which maybe should have gone first. The restaurant itself is a little small and the tables are close together, so be prepared to possibly hear some of your neighbor's conversations.

They even printed happy birthday on the menu. The cocktails were all really great and doesn't taste strong which I prefer. We got two musubi platters to share amongst 5 people and it was pretty filling that we couldn't finish the rest of the food. My favorites would be the japanese scallop and spicy salmon tartare. The pork jowl musubi was too fatty for my liking. The mochiko fried chicken was very juicy but has a burnt taste to it.

I wanted to try every masubi flavor! The pork belly skewers were fatty and delicious. The Squid skewers were okay. The mentaiko tagliatelle was delicious and flavorful, although slightly small portion for a main course. The chicken loco moco was interesting to eat - the fried chicken was perfectly crisped and seasoned.
