Super easy going vibe! Hostess and server was great! Really fast with their drinks and food! Service was great! Food and cocktail was really good! Had the margarita, tofu fresh spring rolls and chicken chow fun.

Food was fine, not great but okay. Could not get past the atmosphere and music they were blaring. Every song they played had the F word (as well as other disgusting racial and other vulgarities) all throughout the song. Not once or twice but almost every other word. It was disgusting that families of small children were having to be exposed to that. Maybe I live under a rock but I feel that since we are in a restaurant and not a bar, they could keep the music a little more family friendly.

Best pho ever had. Highly recommend the fried dumplings also. Without a doubt the best in San Diego. Look forward to next time

FOOD & DRINKS
The grilled lemon grass chicken satay was simply dry. I have no words for the papaya salad. It was just bad. Tasted more like coleslaw than an authentic papaya salad. The peanut sauce was ok.
The fried rice with seafood was alright. The "krab" is just imitation crap. The rice itself tasted ordinary and for us was missing some seasoning.
Then the sizzling fish comes to the rescue. While for me it lacked a tad more acidity (give the customer a lemon on the side), the fish tasted fresh and juicy. I wouldn't mind if they put a bit more of the topping on the fish.
SERVICE
Nothing to complain but also nothing that stands out.
ATMOSPHERE
The place is very close to the beach. I can imagine people going to the beach and having a fun time there and then in the evening get some drinks and food here. It is a nice small bar restaurant to be for some after beach time fun.
RATING
My focus is on the food. The quality and execution of some items needs to be worked on. That is the only reason why I didn't gave this location a four star rating.
Disappointing
Wanted to try OB Noodle House on several previous trips to the area and never made it so this trip made sure to check out this location. Yes, parking is difficult. Found a lot with pay parking, very expensive, but a short walk.
Specifically went on a Tuesday for the pork belly tacos and happy hour. Did not have the pork belly tacos, waiter said they were not on their delivery load that day. Nor do they have happy hour any longer. Disappointed already! Now, sitting outside was uncomfortable for two reasons. Flies everywhere and we were very uncomfortable since people walk on the sidewalk next to the booths and many did not have masks on.
The Pho was good, rice was decent, nothing special.
Great House Fried House Rice
Super duper fast service. My fried rice came out STEAMING HOT!! Chuck full of beef, shrimp, chicken & fresh veggies. The rice moist with good body to it. I think nearly every table around me had ordered it as well. Their reputation apparently precedes them, and for good reason. Highly recommend. Great outdoor dining space as well as indoor. Good service. Many parties brought along their fur babies & all were soaking up the sunshine. Great atmosphere. Guy Ferrari recommends so was good enough for me! 😉👍🏼💙
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Asian Fusion with Exhaustive Whisky and beer menu
We had the Wings A+! Tiger shrimp Excellent flavor Crispy Fish, WOW! egg rolls, Best I have ever had.
Wings are prepared like I have never had before, Not breaded or sauced but a unique finish. Not sure what it is but it is delicious.
Exhaustive Whisky list with many bourbon rarities as well as all the scotch American Canadian gauntlet Impressive.
No less than 30 Micro brews as well.
Service was fast friendly and consistent.
Give it a go, you will not be disappointed. People line up before it opens everyday. Even on slow days. Cheers!

Wing It!
OK, is bigger actually better? Well it kind of is for several reasons.
Long ago on a far away planet where the OBtions live...this is a tender endearment that we non-Ocean Beach residents call the fine folks that live in Ocean Beach, CA there was a smal bar/eatery on Cable St. that created a fine reputation for good Asian food engulfed in a din of customer noise like you wouldn't believe. It is a small place about the size of double car garage with a long bar & tables packed from wall to wall.
On any given night it is packed with lines standing out front waiting 15 to 30 minutes for a table in this sea of humanity. This is not a place for the hard of hearing....actually when I think about it maybe it is. Most patrons don't really go there to have an intimate conversation. In the beginning I tried several times and then gave up when someone in our group just said... "Shut up & eat!" Many years later I still go there only to eat with occasional hand signals to communicate.
So, let's talk about the "Wing Thing". Our family & friends are frequent Flyers for the "Wings". Now, I've taken it to extremes. Wings are the only thing on the menu I order...oh, occasionallly I'll ask for a side of Edamamae, but it's the Wings for me. I guess you could say it's an addiction...OK, I'm hooked!
Like all things that gain success, especially in the food business, if your food & service are good and there are customers daily lined out the door from open to close, expansion is inevitable.
This past year or so OB Noodle opened a second location on Niagara St. in the heart of Ocean Beach. Compared to the original garage on Cable St. this new location is Huge!....but is it loud?...yes it is... Is it busy?...yes it is...are the Wings still the best?....Yes They Are!
The new bigger location is like the original, but on steroids. 5x as big and still packed with waiting lines out front. Our family makes the pilgramage at least once a month because the food & service is outstanding.
Don't be shy about trying anything on the menu, but at least once try the wings. Order some for the table, but I would be willing to bet you'll make them an entree on your next visit. Our family & friends have tried just about everything on the menu and it's always all smiles & full tummys when we leave.
Oh, and one last thing. The location is in the heart of OB....Parking? what parking? Highly recommend that you get your group to Uber. Just so much easier than your brother-in-law dropping you off out front and then he show's up a half hour later with that P.O.'d look on his face and you're already munching on the wings!
Pretty disappointed
This was a recommended spot that had some problems. We had a fairly large party but at 6pm you wouldn’t expect a big challenge getting seated...but by 6:45 everyone was at least sitting. The drinks for those seated earlier took almost as long. They were good but also not accurate. Appetizers were fried pork dumplings (dry and bland sauce) and spring rolls just OK, left over even with a large hungry group. Took a long time to order and the highly recommended short ribs were tough and fatty, (i know short ribs are fatty, these needed some trimming and were tough as can be). The fish was good as was the house fried rice but both were delivered with very careless regard for shellfish allergies and gluten free request. The answer was “ I don’t see any shrimp” and “they both look gluten free, I don’t see the sauce”. Nice people but that is not what you expect. Prices were reasonable, portions were good and most items were flavorful but over all disappointingly average. No one got sick.
