We had reservations and due to the poor weather our Uber
We had reservations and due to the poor weather our Uber was late. We called them twice to keep in touch and make them aware of the situation. We were told they will not hold our reservation. We went anyway because it turned out we were about 10 minutes late. The dark haired hostess with the glasses was completely rude to us. She looked down her nose at us and said that she gave our table away and she will see what she can do. Then the manager came over and was very nice. He explained that a large party was just leaving and they would get us in. The large party left and they seated us at a different table. If our waiter was not as fantastic as he was the night would have been wasted. He spoke broken English and was from Italy. He was fantastic. The food was very good as well but we would not come back because of the hostess. There are many restaurants equivalent to the level of this one with friendly staff.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a lovely place for dinner in the downtown of Napa.
Fun vibe and very good food!

Oh my gosh so bummed we wasted a precious dinner in Napa at this restaurant. We arrived early to a completely empty restaurant, only to be sat behind the hostess & the freezing cold air from the outside. There were so many employees working, yet it took over 20 minutes to get water. Waitress was unable to comprehend a request for sparkling water and juice. Our food arrived after 75 minutes and was completely inedible. The pork was a pile of flaccid flavorless fat, brussel sprouts were dripping in oil, and pasta from Costco would have been more palatable. We couldn't wait to leave.

W.O.W. I mean, wow. Here on a Saturday night, it's busy, and people are waiting. I have the advantage of dining alone, so was seated at the "pizza bar" (not limited to pizza). I had a birds eye view of the hustle and bustle happening on the front line of the kitchen. Like being live on an episode of "Hell's Kitchen", without the angry chef, lol. Espresso Martini was divine. Fungi pizza with added Calabrian chili crisp and pancetta was amazing and prepared literally right in front of me. I am bringing all of my friends and family here to witness this! So much fun!!!

Overall, the ambience was good and the service as well from the staff. The dishes we got for dinner were the INTENSO: CREMA, PARMIGIANO-REGGIANO, PISTACHIO AND RED ONION and PORK RAGU LASAGNA: TOMATO, GARLIC, RICOTTA CHEESE, PARMIGIANO-REGGIANO. Unfortunately I was disappointed in both the dishes. The parmigiano- reggiano was over powering most of the other flavors that came on the dishes. I usually love pizza and pasta but they weren't worth finishing. The pizza dough seemed uncooked for being super thin already. The pork on the pasta had no flavor but the pasta was a good texture. Hopefully all the other dishes aren't like this. Thanks for the experience but I rather have to ox& the fox next door.

One of our favorites in Napa! Great Italian food in the heart of Napa. Service was good but it does get a little loud on a weekend. Great pasta dishes and superb pizza. Please... make room for dessert. Salted caramel cream puffs were to die for and don't forget the shot and a scoop! Do you shoot it or drizzle it over the ice cream??? You decide. Overall fun place with good food. Do your shopping at Lululemon then stop in for a bite
Be the first to ReplyWe go to the same restaurants we love every time we are in
We go to the same restaurants we love every time we are in town (once a year for my birthday) but decided to change it up this year and try at least one new restaurant and Oenotri was it and it did not disappoint. Ambience: very lively, good/fun music that people were bopping/swaying to, loud (because people were having a good time and celebrating). Just know this place is like this (not a quiet/subdued place) and you won't be disappointed. Service: We had a reservation at 7:30pm via Open Table, was greeted by the hostess, and seated within a minute of checking in. Our waiter was amazing!! Italian guy with a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and love for food. You could see him dance/walking to the music as he went between tables or to get drinks which we thought was very sweet. Everyone we interacted with, from the bartender who brought us our drinks to the others who delivered and took away our plates were very attentive and friendly. Food: We left our fate in the hands of our server and we are glad we did. He enthusiastically recommended the margarita pizza with sausage and arugula and the pork ragu pasta. The pasta dish is not showy in looks but is that good/homey/quality taste you crave in a pasta dish. The pasta was cooked perfectly (that perfect al dente chew) and the flavors were fabulous (apparently simmered for 16+ hours). The wood fired pizza was one of the best pizzas we've had and I've been to some of the best places for pizza in Naples. Light, airy crust, with the perfect amount of char. We actually were not that hungry going into dinner but completely finished both dishes! Our server recommended the chocolate panna cotta. I am personally not a big fan of panna cotta but gave it a whirl as he did not steer us wrong on the entrees. It was good...if panna cotta is your thing, I'm sure it was amazing. We also did try the tangerine granita and that was a perfect ending to a great meal. Light/bright/flavorful and the pieces of fresh mandarin oranges were sweet and juicy bursts of flavor. It was an interesting combination to pair it with toasted marshmallow/meringue. It worked, but I think would have been fine on its own too. Drinks: I had the pineapple mocktail which was delicious! Probably one of the best mocktails I've had (great palate cleanser to start the meal and I feel more reasonably priced at $8 than other mocktails I've had). My husband ordered a Clandestine cab, but the waiter recommended him the Enroute Pinot Noir (same price as his original selection) to pair better with the meal. The waiter gave him a generous tasting to see if he liked it, which my husband did and it did pair very nicely with the meal. If you are looking for an upbeat/lively/casual place with amazing food, you should come here. Recommend making a reservation (easy via Open Table a few days ahead) as it was very busy on a Saturday night. We will definitely be adding this to our annual visits going forward!
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed the pasta, little gems salad.
The focaccia was amazing. Very good service and great location in the center of Napa town.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best pasta dishes I have ever had was here.
Can't wait to return - such a lovely place and the servers were so kind and warm. Loved the ambiance and walking distance to our hotel in the heart of Napa.
Be the first to ReplyTheir margarita pizza - I have dreams about it.
The table next to us heard my partner and I oohing and ahing and were convinced too. Also the lemon vinaigrette salad is perfectly dressed. The sausage dish is a great shared plate too, so flavorful! I've yet to try to salami but that's next visit. Great spot to share a few plates with friends. The atmosphere is the perfect volume, and I've been twice once when it was full and once about half full. Service - generally good! When it's busy, we did wait a bit to be able to order another drink at one point when we already had our food. When it wasn't busy and a group of 5 of us showed up famished that food came out so quick which was a godsend. I'd also say it's a little confusing bc they hand you an ipad thing with the drinks but you don't actually order on it, so a little more clarity on that when seated would be good!

This was my best meal while in Napa--I wandered in, sat at the bar with a fun group of strangers and ate...and ate...the tuna was the best I've ever had, hands down. Amazing. Pizza was great and drinks were not skimpy--which is common here. I will return every time I'm in the area. Fantastic!!
Be the first to ReplyMainly getting 4 stars because of the food.
All of the food our table ordered was delicious, although our server was a bit standoffish and unpleasant. Our food also came out all at different times, and about 5 minutes apart, so while we were waiting for all of the dishes to arrive, the ones that were sitting on our table were getting cold. The food is a bit pricey, especially for pasta, but you do get nice portions.
Be the first to ReplyThe food here is always good, and has been a show stopper
The food here is always good, and has been a show stopper for over a decade. I have enjoyed their light and airy pizzas - they redefine pizza, and their pastas and wine list are always great. I'm stopping by to mention that I recently bought my dad an electronic gift card here as I now live out of state--he's born and raised in Napa--me too, but he had never eaten at Oenotri, so I thought it would be a nice experience. While we ran into a snag with his email--Hannah, the manager, helped me figure this out very quickly from my end, and I'm sure she sacrificed her time to personally take care of this and hand deliver a physical card to his home. Above and beyond--and I'm grateful. In recent years it's been difficult for locals to watch Napa change into such a touristy spot (my dad remembers the time when Yountville was the part of town you didn't want to be from--a far cry from the gourmet destination it is now!)--but it's nice to see some people still care about the locals and not just the tourists. Thank you Hannah & Oenotri for taking care of my family.
Be the first to ReplyMy sister recommended this place in downtown Napa.
Get the Quattro formaggi pizza and arugula pesto pasta! Excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed. It was nice to see some vegetarian options, but I would not necessarily recommend this place for vegans - maybe if you called ahead. Pasta is made in house and you can tell. I would pass on the Grilled artichokes. They were cold unclear if that was intentional and not much flavor in the dish.Contorni section of menu is a great place to put vegetables and I thought that was lacking - artichokes were the only option. While the polenta sounded good we really just wanted some vegetables with our carb loaded mains. My friend is gluten free and they were able to sub any pasta except lasagna gluten free. Not sure about GF pizza. The ice cream is creamy, but not super flavorful. It didn't taste or feel like gelato you get in Italian shops. We tried both the caramel and the stracciatella- which was lacking in chocolate. Not bad just not excellent like our main dishes. What was annoying was that I triple checked when ordering dessert that the ice cream and cookie was a gluten free dessert - the menu listed gelato and a meringue cookie. the server was certain it's gluten free but the food runner brought out a wheat based chocolate chip cookie and insisted this was the correct cookie, that there was no other cookie in house. This is frustrating because had I not noticed the cookie was different, my friend would have accidentally eaten it. The server should have marked the ticket gluten free so it would not even hit our table or be on a separate plate with a heads up that there is a change. I made sure my celiac friend didn't eat the cookie and we started to eat the ice cream. We didn't ask for a manager or anything but he came out anyway and brought a plate of the correct gluten free cookie which is listed on the menu. That was nice.I'm leaving off one star because the artichokes were cold and the allergy mishap. Otherwise ambience and pasta and pizza were great and we would certainly come back.

And I was blown away. They didn't have room for us but Olivia made room. Our server, I am sorry I didnt get her name, however she was great. Knowledgeable, nice and efficient. The restaurant was busy however they all took excellent care of us and paid attention to every detail. And the food!!! OMG one of the best pesto pastas I have had in a long time. The Pizza and beet salad was also very delicious. I am mad at myself for taking soo long to come here. Love Love Love it. Will be back for sure!!!

Finally able to try Oenotri - worth the wait! Amazing food, incredible service, we had a wonderful experience
Be the first to ReplyMy cousin made reservations for a girls weekend.
Neither of us have ever been. The ambience and staff were great. Wine was good. We ordered the Brussel sprouts- fabulous. Mixed lettuce salad - good. Pasta with short rib- great flavor but lack luster. Only a couple of pieces of meat. For the price, go somewhere or cook at home for a full meal unfortunately.
Be the first to ReplyMade reservations here on a Thursday evening with a friend.
It was pretty packed. We got sat right away. Service was great, fast and attentive. The ambiance was nice and chill. We ordered pizza and pasta and ultimate not impressed with either. The food was lacking season. I enjoyed my wine but my friend didn't enjoy hers. Overall it was just "ok" I expect more for Napa and the price.
Be the first to ReplyService was good, food was appalling.
Ambiance was fine if a bit noisy.Squid linguini was absolutely bland with no identifiable character other than bland...big disappointment. Martini was as ordered, but small.

.. visiting from out of town and had a rec to visit here. Had a reservation, but the table was not ready. No biggie. When seated at the table, it was still being cleaned and lacked a basic service setting. The food was OK.. Special of the day Truffle Pasta was watery a oozy white sauce.. saving grace - the truffles. The homemade pepperoni was flat and tasteless.. crust hard as cardboard. I had to add red pepper flakes for flavor. Food success:1. make it flavorful.2. make it appealing to the eye. Our dishes were neither. Wine was very good. Oaxacan Old Fashioned was amazing!Staff was bubbly and enthusiastic, but forgetful.I'd suggest other local options ...
Be the first to ReplyI loved the ambiance and the food was amazing.
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE THING of the entire meal was actually an appetizer! The Face Fries???? SO GOOD. I could die. My friend and I ordered two orders of the Face Fries they were that good. Lemony, tangy, spicy, savory all really well balanced flavors. I had the Beef ravioli with ricotta. And for dessert we shared this delicious chocolate mousse type of dessert. The service was great. It was quite loud in there because it's a popular place.
Be the first to ReplyThe perfect date night.
The ambiance was perfect. Not too loud or overwhelming. As the night went on the restaurant did get busier and a tad bit louder. The service was exceptional and the servers were very attentive. The food! The food tasted perfectly. We shared a salad and as simple as it looked it tasted even better. We both had wine and a cocktail. Our main dishes arrived and we devoured our meal. It was that delicious. Great spot to dine just on any night. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful cocktails and great wine.
Wonderful food. Great service - an overall wonderful experience. My husband had the halibut and enjoyed it. I had the margherita pizza - delicious. The timing of the food was perfect, something I really appreciate.
Be the first to ReplyOn Saturday evening, my fiancé and I ate at this
On Saturday evening, my fiancé and I ate at this restaurant before going to a show in the area. We were seated after 15-20 mins of waiting with no reservation. We sat outside in the patio behind the restaurant that was under a white tent. The outdoor seating was busy with other patrons and so was inside. We were handed a mini iPad to select our choices of wines/beers/etc. I ordered a Pinot Grigio, which shows below on the photo of the iPad. My partner ordered a red wine, information below on iPad phone. We were given water upon the arrival to our seats/table. We ordered the focaccia bread with olive oil. The bread was a tad bit too salty in my opinion and I was hoping for more herbs in it. It tasted like plain salted soft bread. The olive oil was elite. I'd give this a 3/5.We both ordered the same thing. The Radiatore pasta with pesto sauce, Meyer lemon and walnuts. In my opinion, I would have wanted more lemon flavor. There was no taste of it at all. Maybe a small amount of lemon zest on top? The walnuts balanced out the flavor of the pasta. The Parm Reggiano cheese was too overpowering on the pasta. The pasta again was salty. I would have wanted more complex flavor of all the ingredients in the description of the dish. However, it was overly salty. Omit the walnuts and it may have been slightly worse. My fiancé liked it but didn't love it. He too said it was salty. He said the pesto sauce should've been thicker & it was too thin. We both rate this a 3/5.We didn't order dessert because we were trying to get out to get in line for the show we were going to. So we paid our check and headed out. This restaurant is very busy, it was a Michelin restaurant in 2018. A lot of stickers on the door for best restaurants and best voted on Nextdoor. I'm a little surprised that it was just okay. We've had better. I think it was a little overrated. I would go back to try the other menu items we didn't try. I want to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt and maybe assume that it just wasn't their best day when we went. We paid $125 with tip included. Parking was hard to find but it was Saturday night & Anjelah Johnson was performing that night. I heard other patrons at the restaurant talking about it too. We went there to Napa from Hayward. Assuming others probably did too because it was her last day in the Bay Area. Restrooms shared with other businesses in the same building was dirty. Toilet paper all over the floor.Staff was really nice though. Our waiter didn't check up on us as much though. He took our order, and then at the end when we asked for the check.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible dining experience.
Came in at 7:30 got a reservation for 8:30. Came back at 8:30 was seated. Initial person who came said another person would be our server. The other person came and said I'll be with you shortly. Then original person came back and said actually I will be your server. Ordered sparkling water, focaccia bread and a salad to start. Then gave our entree orders 9:00 still no entree. We order more bread because we are hungry to pass the time. 9:15 we asked is our food coming? (Order was Halibut, noodles, meatballs, broccoli) server apologizes and says let me check. Comes back and says 5 more minutes. We are seated and watching orders for other tables who came in after us being served with orders of broccoli. It's now 9:30 and we ask for our check, so we can try to get food fromSomewhere on a Friday night. Server says let me talk to my manager. Still no food manager comes, we explain the situation. Manager replied we thought you all were okay when we saw you eating bread. We gave $60 cash for a bottle of water salad and 2 orders of bread. We said we needed to find somewhere to eat, she replied we're sorry good luck with dinner tonight. Unfortunately kitchens closed at 9:30 in the area. Napa night ruined went back to our hotel. If server would have said we're sorry we made a mistake, no problem, if manager would have said I'm sorry no problem, but to intimate you've been here an hour with no food because we saw you eating bread, is no ownership or accountability and that's the problem. We overpaid and the restaurant underdelivered.
