Not a pleaser, but I might be factoring in my weariness for this type of cuisine. Best part of this restaurant was the nice and friendly young man who engaged us several times during the meal. As for food and service, Okinawa falls short. The skimpy undersized salad came out ladened with ice particles, indicating it's lengthy shelf life in the freezer. Steak tasted old and flavorless, while Julie's chicken was just average. Sauce servings were minimal and unimpressive. Since we were in the area, we decided to give this place a try, but we are unlikely to become repeat customers.

... Good food but no waiters or waitresses. We were given plates and silverware to pass out and our appetizers came out... seconds later our main courses came out. There was no room on the table so we told "the guy" to hold the main course. It's a good thing they have an excellent sushi maker and a good good cook. Not sure I'll ever go back. It was very uncomfortable.

Made reservation, showed up and they seated us with a party of 10 people & gave us 1 chef. I immediately got up and asked to be seated at our own table with our own chef and they said they didn't have one. Mgr said he can do both tables & our food would be cooked separately from the other group. Well, he put our veggies on immediately then turned & started to cook their food putting on a show. He then turned and put our shrimp on our table. He then started to make the fried rice on their table & gave us the rice that was not mixed enough because there was such a huge mound of it. So much for cooking our food on our table. The shrimp sat there for 10 minutes when he finally turned them over they were burnt and he continued to cook them & went back to cooking the other peoples food. I got up and complained and the mgr so was so rude and said do you want to leave and I said no I would like new shrimp. She then took the shrimp off the table and yelled out who would like free shrimp to the other diners!!! We got up and left and will never go back.

My husband and I went with my daughter's family for her birthday. It was amazing! The hostess was so accommodating, and the whole experience was terrific and so much fun!! It was the grandkids first time and what a blast they had, as did the adults! And the food was good too!

Service was almost non-existent for ordering any drinks (or refilling water glasses). The chef came late (they usually do from my experience) and the food was okay. He did a good performance and unfortunately the onion for the volcano had a split in the middle. I was mostly disappointed in the portions for each person. I got the Okinawa Royal and I'm pretty sure the steak I got was not filet mignon and just the normal steak they serve. Not a lot of food for almost 50 bucks. Would I come back again? Probably not for a long time. It's way too expensive for what you get.TL:DRPros: Decor is nice, hibachi chefs do a good performanceCons: Food is average, Overpriced, and Poor Service

I order 2 lunch take out orders and one of the lunches had old rock hard chicken that had to be as tough as nails. I could barely eat it. The salad was nothing more then a few pieces of American lettuce with 1 cherry tomatoe. This is suppose to be a Japanese restaurant but had no Japanese people working there nor any Japanese lunches or dinners?Over 33.00 for 2 lunches? It was definitely not worth the money!

What a horrible experience!! Once seated, we waited at least 10 minutes to give our orders and then at least another 30 until the chef came around to cook. His enthusiasm was non-existent and his "show" was pathetic at best. I understand that there are staffing issues, but this was awful! The food was ok..,nothing special. Don't even bother going!!!
Be the first to ReplyI really liked this place.
We went here for a birthday and the food was really tasty. I was not a fan of their soup because it was literally just broth- no onions, mushroom, anything inside of it. It was still tasty, but just beef broth. The salad looked a little sad in its tiny bowl with pink dressing, and at first I thought it was thousand Island, but it was delicious ginger sauce! The shrimp was amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly. The chicken was also incredibly good, although I would have preferred it to be cut a little smaller. The fried rice was perfect and lo mein noodles were a new thing for me, I have never had them at a hibachi place before. The place was very clean and the servers were very nice.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered dinner after arriving home late from a weekend
We ordered dinner after arriving home late from a weekend out of town. We were visiting family we hadn't seen in a while and were celebrating aka eating whatever the fuck we wanted for the preceding 48 hours. My body desperately needed a detox and I would have preferred to cook something "healthy" but that plan quickly expired when we finally got back home late on Sunday night. This place was open at the, speaking in the context of the 'burbs, ungodly hour of 9pm. Because of reasons listed above, I was pleased to see the "healthy steamed veggies" or whatever the fuck portion of their menu and felt slightly less "fat fuck" when I added the tofu option to my cart. We weren't going to go overboard with the healthy shit here so I also ordered scallion pancakes and a side of noodles. To top everything off, I capped my portion off with their avocado, asparagus, and cucumber roll. GF ordered yellowtail scallion roll, sweet potato roll, and the eel and cucumber roll. The scallion pancakes were excellent, some of the lightest and crispy scallion 'cakes I've ordered in recent memory. My only criticisms are that the portion provided is almost a joke and I don't particularly agree with the choice of dipping sauce (the sweet, orangey clear one) but as a white girl named Bekki what the fuck do I do know?I enjoyed the sweet potato rolls. The avocado, cucumber, asparagus roll were standard and nothing special but I am pleased to see them on the menu for my vegetarian kin.The veggies were straight up steamed and nothing else but accompanied by a garlic sauce. I am hoping that the garlic sauce isn't terrible for you bc in that case, it's a really nutritious meal and I didn't hate myself after eating it. More importantly, it was ENJOYABLE, and I am looking forward to finishing the leftovers tomorrow. Regarding GF's rolls, her review: "very good". I will keep this place on my ordering radar for the future.
